I love seeing the completely free child like joy in guitarist faces playing guitar cause I know exactly what that feeling feels like... but there's just something about seeing it when bb king did it... especially in his older age that just like stevie wonder singing brings happy tears to my eyes.... there's just something beautiful seeing that happiness in older ppl that you don't see often and it makes me happy

The poetry of the landscape and the American attitude of anything and everything can be done and hope can be found in hopelessness summed up entirely in that which is the Blues, that bewitching music that throughout history helped many bare the unbearable and helped kids like me (who couldn't be further from it's routes!) realize exactly what music is. America, for all your faults and failings, you have a great deal to be proud of.
while B.B.'s playing style is legendary and rightfully so... after seeing him live a few times I can tell you that what really jumped out at me was the power in his voice... when he sings the blues... my goodness you just feel everything all at once and you combine that with the guitar and you get the one and only King of the Blues.

I'm just getting acquainted; was deaf over 30 yrs, then had a cochlear implant about 1991, but it's taken time to assimilate, you know. I'm glad there is no singing; most songs the verbiage is so stupid. Can just focus on the finger skills here.

Its impossible to express true greatness in words, just ask anyone who's trying to do something that hasn't been done before or a TRUE musician. But AMAZINGLY greatness can convey ubiquitous expression with only one note. Long live the KING...

The master makes a mistake at 01:05, he meant to hit the note Ab, however he hits the A. It is interesting because in an interview he said that when he uses this particular 'trick/lick' most of the times he looks at the guitar to ensure that he doesnt make a mistake. Afterwards at the time 01:40 to 01:43 it is obvious that he is very carefull not to make the same mistake again. Great performance .

The Thrill is Gone The body of BB King as left this mortal coil, passing away last evening at 89, leaving behind his immortal music for us all. Mr King removed himself from hospice care on May 4th to return to his home in Las Vegas where he died surrounded by family and friends. My sympathies to them and to all who loved him. May he rest in peace. (special thanks to Eric Agustin for assembling this copious playlist. It will be today's sound track for me)
it just saddens me to see how old he became but he's still rocking the blues at now 88 years old!!! and he's music will echo for eternity! i have nothing but respect for you king!
