A band like Fall Out Boy or Pearl Jam/ Dave Grohl should add songs like these to their set list. Keep great music alive plus add to their already huge fan bases
@@onlinepole not trying to be rude but that makes no sense. I say that because a band like Pearl Jam has never been a part of what would be considered pop music like this. The members of Pearl Jam and Dave Grohl often pay tribute to their influences through cover songs and bringing the artists on tour with them. One of the Ramones last tours was with Pearl Jam at a time when the former was at the end of their career. Eddie Vedder and Dave Grohl have cited plenty of influences and would probably think The Outfield made some good songs but it's two totally different worlds
@@onlinepole Dave Grohl is not a band... And it makes no sense for established musicians to cover somebodys material. Sure, there is such thing as a tribute but don't expect them to add any foreign song to their setlist. I love the Outfield but the idea that well known musicians should just add somebody other's hits to their repertuaire is ridiculous.
I was born the year play deep hit. I was never much into music until I started listening to the music of my birth decade. I never heard of the outfield before, but they're easily one of my top 3 bands now that I have. Your love is fantastic, and it's truly a shame Lewis passed. We lost a monumental talent with his passing. The Outfield will rock forevermore.
Certain songs are timeless, this is one of them. I was around 10 years old when I first heard this. My mom introduced me to this every Saturday doing chores. If you can picture a black woman with a large afro playing an air guitar across the kitchen floor. That would be her. RIP mom and RIP Tony.
As soon as you hear those opening chords you smile. This is one of the best songs of the 80's, one of the best ever really. RIP Tony Lewis. One of the great voices in music.
damn this song is fucking amazing, I can't stop hearing it, 😊 I feel connected to the song maybe because I was born in 81, sometimes I wish I got to live as a teen in the 80's instead of a toddler, it was so much better back then. 😆
@@thatsubieguy8988 Beg to differ. 80s had everything the 70s had and more. It was the last decade to build on the previous one. Sadly it's been all downhill ever since.
Back to the good old days mid 1985 the outfield playing on the radio 24/7 and almost 40 years late some people are still enjoying this song. Thanks The Outfield for this great song!!!
What really impress me is the fact that this song wasn’t the most played on the radio in its time, amazing songs were released every week on those years.
Lyrics: Josie's on a vacation far away Come around and talk it over So many things that I want to say You know I like my girls a little bit older I just want to use your love tonight I don't want to lose your love tonight I ain't got many friends left to talk to Nowhere to run when I'm in trouble You know I'd do anything for you Stay the night but keep it undercover I just want to use your love tonight (whoa) I don't want to lose your love tonight Try to stop my hands from shaking But something in my mind's not making sense It's been a while since we were all alone I can't hide the way I'm feeling As you're leaving, please would you close the door? And don't forget what I told you Just 'cause you're right that don't mean I'm wrong Another shoulder to cry upon I just want to use your love tonight (yeah) I don't want to lose your love tonight (yeah) I just want to use your love tonight I don't want to lose your love tonight I just want to use your love tonight I don't want to lose your love tonight your (Use your love) love Oh, I don't want to lose (lose your, tonight) I don't wanna, no, I don't wanna I don't wanna lose (use your, tonight) Your love, your (lose your, tonight) Your love (use your, tonight) Your love (lose your, tonight) I don't want to lose your love tonight Love (use your, tonight) (Lose your, tonight) I don't want to lose your love tonight

Amazing history lesson! dudes will always be one of a kind!

I agree...and I'm a hard rock/metal guy...but some of these songs resonate with me and my 80's upbringing...

Your love is fantastic, and it's truly a shame Lewis passed. We lost a monumental talent with his passing.
The Outfield will rock forevermore.
R.I.P Tony Lewis and John Spinks. Tony had such a unique and amazing voice and John was an amazing guitarist. I love this song a lot
God bless the 80's and all the great music that came from that decade.

Certain songs are timeless, this is one of them. I was around 10 years old when I first heard this. My mom introduced me to this every Saturday doing chores. If you can picture a black woman with a large afro playing an air guitar across the kitchen floor. That would be her. RIP mom and RIP Tony.
Would have loved to seen a video of your mom jamming the air guitar to the Outfield. Thankfully you have that memory. RIP to your mom.

Lyrics:
Josie's on a vacation far away
Come around and talk it over
So many things that I want to say
You know I like my girls a little bit older
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
I ain't got many friends left to talk to
Nowhere to run when I'm in trouble
You know I'd do anything for you
Stay the night but keep it undercover
I just want to use your love tonight (whoa)
I don't want to lose your love tonight
Try to stop my hands from shaking
But something in my mind's not making sense
It's been a while since we were all alone
I can't hide the way I'm feeling
As you're leaving, please would you close the door?
And don't forget what I told you
Just 'cause you're right that don't mean I'm wrong
Another shoulder to cry upon
I just want to use your love tonight (yeah)
I don't want to lose your love tonight (yeah)
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
I just want to use your love tonight
I don't want to lose your love tonight
your
(Use your love) love
Oh, I don't want to lose (lose your, tonight)
I don't wanna, no, I don't wanna
I don't wanna lose (use your, tonight)
Your love, your (lose your, tonight)
Your love (use your, tonight)
Your love (lose your, tonight)
I don't want to lose your love tonight
Love (use your, tonight)
(Lose your, tonight) I don't want to lose your love tonight
