Everybody Wants To Rule The World Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Welcome to your life
There's no turning back
Even while we sleep
We will find you
[Chorus]
Acting on your best behaviour
Turn your back on Mother Nature
Everybody wants to rule the world
[Verse 2]
It's my own design
It's my own remorse
Help me to decide
Help me make the
[Chorus]
Most of freedom and of pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world
[Bridge]
There's a room where the light won't find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do, I'll be right behind you
[Chorus]
So glad we've almost made it
So sad they had to fade it
Everybody wants to rule the world
[Instrumental Interlude]
[Chorus]
I can't stand this indecision
Married with a lack of vision
Everybody wants to rule the-
Say that you'll never, never, never, never need it
One headline, why believe it?
Everybody wants to rule the world
All for freedom and for pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever

80's was a phenomenon in musical history.
The world was a better place...
You mean the Late 20th Century (1960-1999), which tbh isn't just pop and synth. There's so much music from that time, though British pure hard rock (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Hawkwind, Motorhead, Fastway, and Judas Priest) is my favorite.

Let me sum up the 80’s music this way, I’m a black guy who grew up that era and I can’t cap, there was some great 80s rock and soft pop songs that I used to rock all the time. Tears for Fears was one of my favorite as well as Journey. I can remember cruising down Crenshaw Blvd in my 240z blasting their songs on the radio. That’s how much I loved 80’s music. Howard Jones, Madonna, Expose, etc…I could go on and on. But i can’t help waxing nostalgic when listening to these classics. I mean just the best cruising music ever. That’s what made driving so fun back then. It didn’t matter where you were going. Just pop in your favorite cassette and enjoy the ride. I’m glad I got to experience it firsthand.
Awww driving down Crenshaw Blvd and the music... the memories!! Your comment brought me back to those days.
I can't relate to the California part of your life, because I've never been there, but as a black man born in 1980 I grew up with this.
I was exposed to this sound thanks to my mother's tastes in music, so this feel good music was felt in North Carolina.
This group, and many others from the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s get plenty of rotation in the car to this day.
The Datsun 240z, what an awesome car
I’m a 49 year old brother in Houston who did the same exact thing. MTV had straight hood dudes knowing every lyric to rock n pop songs lololl and what I didn’t find on MTV I’d discover at AstroWorld… Golden times man
Man.... music is music. Is for everyone. Whatever gets you to where you gotta be mentally, that's all that matters

So lucky to be born in the 60s. Idolized the 60s, nostalgic for the 70s, teenager in the 80's, came into maturity in the 90s. 4 decades of great music we may never see again in our lifetimes.
As someone born in the 90's with deep musical roots due to my upbringing: I can't agree with you more. 60's - 90's music is quite possibly the best there ever will be in the foreseeable future
I was born late 50's but you've nailed it there
Alors ça c'est certain, la musique aura été de Jean-Sébastien Bach jusqu'à Coldplay. Après se sera le néant jusqu'à ce que le capitalisme s'écroule et que la musique redevienne un art et non une industrie source de profit

I passed by that house in the opening scene everyday for 13 years to and from work from 1999-2012 i was a Windmill mechanic up on the hill way behind that house and homes. Good times good times.😢
My 8 year old got into this song thanks to skibidi toilet. Best thing to come out of that toilet nonsense.
That skibidi toilet thing is not for 8 year olds, it has some bad stuff in it.
get him off of skibidi toliet it’s pure brainrot and also some episodes have some inappropriate characters
Trust me when I said I tried. Thankfully he has mostly forgotten about it by now.
Ever feeling hopeless?.. I do sometimes.
This song just reminds me of staying present, enjoying my day to day life, monotony, work, bills, all other gnarly stuff that I sometimes gotta force myself to do. But just look at these young lads singing their hearts out back in the 80’s, time is precious and ruthless, they are both over 60 now.
Don’t forget to nourish yourself, don’t forget to take care of your loved ones, show up for yourself and everyone around you daily. If you are not happy with current situation and want to push blame to someone, I encourage you to take action and do it yourself what you expect from others - because at the end of the day it feels good. Stay blessed people and value time in present.

This song makes me feel so sad. For some reason it transports me back to a happier time in my life and I wish I could have those years back.
hotelmario510 Me too
Yes! This song instantly takes me back to my childhood. Five years old and not a care in the world.
hotelmario510 things change. Get over it.
Jonathan McGuire Theres always one.....
hotelmario510 shut up no one cares if you were born in the 80s
Absolute musical masterpiece . Probably the greatest " driving off into the sunset " song ever made.
Brings back so many memories of me dacing in my local pub thinking I was the bees knees , oh god I do miss those carefree days 😊😔
@@carolsteed7604 I wish I knew the 80’s!

Grew up with this song as a kid, still adore it now. One of the best, if not the best single from the 1980's.
From where I am from in the 80s people had to listen to propaganda in the morning day and Night. Probably one of the best singers of that time was Anne Veski.
And she is still one of the most famous Estonian singers.
memories for sure
Mon père a 63 et j’écoute ceci parce il introduit ce á moi
😮
Even though I wasn’t born in the 80s,this song still hits a deep nostalgia in me that I can’t understand.

@@gitgudlol8816 that’s rude
@git gud lol of course, 2023 has this mindset. We need a big fucking bomb dropped on this planet
@@gitgudlol8816 too young to understand
This song is a masterpiece! Is like a Time Machine , but we can’t stay !
The real start of a legend
Legend how?
If ever a song defined "The Big '80's", this is it.
100%
No I’d say Journey Don’t Stop believing or Toto Africa. And 70’s would be Boston More than a Feeling and Kansas Carry on Wayward Son. I grew up with literally 60’s blues all the way to 90’s hip hop. I should’ve been born in the 80’s, everyone (even my parents) say I’m stuck In the 80’s.
@@WhoDaF0ok1sThatGuy no. This is more 80s than that. Journey is overrated as hell as well. Tears for fears and Simple minds sound the most 80s.
@@natechenry bro Tears for Fears literally looks like an emo band. Journey also isn’t overrated, they have amazing songs such as Lights, Separate Ways, and of course Don’t Stop Believing. And nothing is more 80’s than Africa. Tears for Fears just has one song that I’ve known about. And I grew up with all the music being from 60’s blues, to 70-80’s Rock, and to 90’s Hip hop. Nothing 2000’s. Dude this isn’t as 80’s as Journey and Toto, or even Kansas and Boston (which is more so 70’s). My parents were also born in the 70’s and grew up from the late 70’s to the 80-90’s. They also agree and brought me up on Boston, Journey, Kansas, etc. and my pops grew me up on 1990’s Nas, Mobb deep, Common, AZ, DMX, Twista, Public Enemy, etc. So I’m all old school
@@WhoDaF0ok1sThatGuy I was born in 1958. In the 80s, Journey seemed like a carryover from the 70s; to my ear they were very much like Kansas and Boston, et al. Tears for Fears had a new sound that was somewhat new-wave but more sophisticated musically. That's how I remember it.
Yes my son Is 9 and loves this song!
C'est cool car quand j'avais son age j'étais bercé par cette musique
