ACC driver here. After watching some of your videos I decided to finally give iRacing a go and I am loving it so far. Although the tires in iRacing are not as developed as in ACC, I can totally agree that brakes feel much better, especially when you come off the brakes.
Exactly. I feel like you can do a lot more with the balance of the car with how you come off the brakes. There’s a lot more opportunity to make the car do what you want to do off the breaks. I feel like in ACC, there is only Good and bad or a very small window of opportunity to get it right. I do like the way the tires feel though. I feel like iRacing can learn something from the tire feeling.
Dude. So appreciate this. I dance between ACC and iracing a ton. It's always great to see the comparison from a pro driver. What I like to see is the direct comparisons like this video but also comparisons across simulators alike. I typically prefer ACC due to being a die-hard GT3 fan, but I feel I racing has a leg up in some areas as explained here. Thanks for these.

throw Gran Turismo into the mix if u can, while it's not a full sim, a lot of people and pros are pretty good when they switch from GT to iRacing or ACC, which says a lot about the skill involved in GT.
@@danielmorad It's clear in both downforce and mechanical grip cars that iracing does braking really well, but a lot of the driving feels "off" with how it snaps immediately to unsaveable spins. (It seems to be a bit better in cars with newer tire models.) By contrast, for mid-corner handling in ACC, it seems easier to wrangle with the car a bit. I'd definitely be curious to hear a real GT3 driver's opinion of how that compares to both iracing and real life.
My first impression watching the split screen video comparison is how much the real car shakes around compared with iRacing. It's not just visually but you can hear the engine revs skipping from wheelspin as the tyres jump over the kerbs. Also you see the steering being affected by these bumps and making it impossible to be as smooth in real life. Fantastic video by the way, it's the most in depth comparison I've ever seen!
Thanks so much. There’s definitely a lot more feedback in real life. It allows you to be a lot more flexible in terms of how you can manipulate the car. I feel like on a simulator, it’s so hard to dance around. You only drive a very specific line it’s already pre-calculated for optimal grip.
I love the split screen comparison, very nice! Some more movement in the steering wheel in real life but very accurate with braking points and what not! Impressive. Love your videos man! 👍🏼
Great video! I was in Detroit today watching the GT4 race and quickly realized you were not only in the race, but you were leading. Congrats on the win!
Another banger of a video! So if you take the physical fitness and endurance aspects out of it, overall which one do you think is more difficult to drive? Morad go Vroom ;)
Thanks man. I think they both have their challenges. Fitness wise, it’s a lot more difficult to keep concentration in real life when it starts getting hot inside the cockpit. Also, the fear factor is something that most cannot overcome. It’s a lot different going flat through a corner or carrying a lot of speed when you know there’s a reset button. Sim racing can be difficult due to the lack of feeling of where the edge or limit is so it takes a lot more hours to get to the limit. I personally feel way more comfortable IRL than on the Sim.
ACC Braking a 2 - I bloody knew it was crap since day 1 that surely it wasnt just me that thinks its not even close to realistic. Thanks for these videos mate, they're super helpful.
As a mediocre sim racer, I have no right to comment about how different sim titles feel. What I want to hear is another PRO driver's opinion or any real life race driver.
95% of pro drivers who do simracing that we are publicly aware off drive iracing. If you ask any of them about acc they either ignore question or say they prefer iracing. All sim developers have their idea of what is right and what is not. None of them are perfect and all have flaws.
95% i don’t where this number is coming from. The sure thing is that most of the pro drivers are on iRacing for the competition, because this is indeed the most competitive service you can find on the market without participating to leagues. However, a lot of the drivers praise rFactor 2 as the closest driving experience.
Morad go vroom! Thanks for the videos, exactly what I (and I think many others) have been looking for - someone who does this in real life, who really knows what's going on, sharing his knowledge and helping sim racers improve. Awesome stuff.

Nice to see input from a real GT3 driver, regarding the on throttle i can feel that myself and obviously never drove GT3, so nice to get a confirmation on that

@@danielmorad I don't like tires in iR, so, please, everything about tires :) I completely agree with this video: M3Wt2fIiURs And looks like you are agree with that in 7:00. Seem nothing changed after 2 y =) That's the main reason why I quitted from iR. Good job in this video, by the way.
Morad go vroom! Your ffb settings have helped me gain both time and confidence in my driving. I'll be picking up some gloves from your store and I am honestly very appreciative of your helpful content.
Iracing looks like you're driving on a smooth glass surface (and in my experience that's how it feels), totally takes away the immersion for me when you can see how much more the real car bounces around. That's where ACC (after the last big physics update) and RF2 feel way more engaged for me at least, and being able to modulate, attack, and correct through the corner and on throttle. Braking is understandable though ACC feels like you just stomp then trail off and don't have to be overly precise or worry about ABS. Love the content, curious if as a Pro you ever train on something like AC pro or RF pro and what the differences to any pro grade sim software has or if Iracing works for most all your training and you never see a need to use those? 👍
ACC is hot garbage.. FFB feels like a sweaty hand skipping on a cheap coffee table no edges feel at all like cheese wheels, the breaks are total trash, it runs like crap, it looks like crap, and it has no variety... ACC is a total dead-end waste of time. That is why all the real drivers us iR. The sooner you get iR setup correctly and dig the better, ACC is gonna be dead in a year tops. You need to setup iR properly if you feel like it feels like glass something is very wrong with your setup/settings if this is case for you.
@@lowproscrumbum Typical Iracing driver lol, shouldn't have to download Irffb to get decent feel, still low hz sampling, still less tire points being tracked, as stated in this video bad throttle response and ability to work mid corner, if you think Iracing graphics look better than ACC your kidding yourself. ACC is a GT racing sim it's not meant to have LMPs open wheelers, compare RF2, Original AC or wait for AC2 for that. ACC actually has feedback you can actually feel the car doing something, there is no feeling in Iracing fbb and I have tried it with a hybrid gear wheel and a dd wheel so I am not just saying something without having tried it.
@@lowproscrumbum Plus they both have their own place strengths and weaknesses as do all sims and that's why I play a bit of all the games, love how Iracing drivers have to come to it's defense and say everything else is trash and a waste of time lol. I only said the lack of feel ruins the immersion for me, not that it's bad in all aspects. Such one dimensional thinking from Iracing drivers, X pro uses it so it must be the best lol. People like you are what give the sim racing community a toxic bad look.
@@BMXAceCA Nope I play all the Sims regularly enjoy them all brother. ACC is trash and a total dead-end, teaching wise its the worst Sim on the market hands down, its like playing a comic book about racing. I run a 4070ti and a 13700kf on Triples and it is pathetic how badly ACC runs it looks like shit. Yes, i do think iRacing looks great once you can max it out it looks fantastic! and it rus superb, there is not one other Sim that has as good-looking cars in motion as iR does. Good luck out there.

Hi Dani! great video! what I like the most is that we had the opportunity to talk about it at the Circuit of the Americas! greetings from Costa Rica and I hope to see you again in another race! regards Joe! friend of Devinder to whom you signed the white gloves.
It’s very interesting that you find the braking phase so accurate and relatable yet the acceleration phase so unrealistic. Funny how the same tire model can be both very accurate and inaccurate. Also interesting that the lap time ends up so similar anyway. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I can’t wait to see more like it!
This is the content we want ! I can guarantee you that there are a lot of "REAL DRIVERS" out there, people as passionate as real life driver, but it's not something like basketball, if you like it you can just go play basketball if you want, but when you absolutely love racing, the only thing you can do when you don't have money or background to race for real, is SIMRACING, so, something that I would like to know is the amount of torque to use with every car to replicate the real life feel, (Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula 4, GT3s [maybe each GT3 car have his own amount of torque ? More or less], Super Formula, Indycar, LMP1s, LMP2s, LMH) I think that we don't speak enough about the replication of forces in the steering wheel. (English is not my native so I hope you will read me and understand, love your work Mr Morad, thank you). A Racer from Martinique (french Caribbean Island) 🤙
awesome content again , love to see same comparing with Asetto Corsa Competizione ...that fight you speak of the wheel in mid corner definitely more pronounced
I believe everything that was said in the video. As someone who only plays ACC, I wish they would address the braking issues. The thing is though for someone like me who loves GT3 and will never get to drive in one, I like the sim that I can afford. ACC is still extremely competitive and really fun. The best part is I don't feel like I'm a subject of the 4th Industrial Revolution while I'm driving.
I feel like once they do that, it will make it a much more viable option. I tried it yesterday and actually had a lot of fun with it. I feel like it’s on the right path.
Morad go vroom! 💪🏻 I especially love the content with the explanation on how to drive/technique Since your video about the simucube profiles I only use yours. They are so well made! ❤️
Fantastic review on iRacing man. I haven't jumped on it because of the subcription model, but hearing your opinion on the braking has got me itching to try it out. I'll probably never have the chance to hop in a race car, so it's definitely something to experience. Looking forward to your opinions on ACC as that's where I spend the bulk of my in-sim time! Thanks So much Daniel!

Morad go vroom 🤙 I have no experience with real life racing so I was not surprised that ACC (my current favorite sim) might not have been seen favorably by you for braking feel, but maybe not to such an extent. Makes me wonder what real GT3 feels like! Still deciding if I should dive into iRacing, and seeing your lap is pushing me closer haha. Love your stuff man.
Not only am I strictly amateur as a race driver, but I'm slow too. That being said, my assessment of braking, mid corner, and on throttle is identical to what I just heard here. Been thinking the same for years. I'm glad to see that I have at least some feel for driving. Morad go vroom!
MORAD GO VROOM! These videos are awesome man. My dream since day 1 has been to be a racing driver, I’ve never had the funding to go any further than Karting so discovering sim racing has been incredible for me. Videos like this that show just how close the sim stuff is to real life make it feel like I’m even closer to the dream. Loving the content, all the best, Dan.
I agree with what you've said here. I have never been a pro driver but in the past 30 years I had the chance to drive different kind of race cars on leading European tracks. I strongly recommend you to drive a BTCC car on RF2, and do it ONLY on a DLC track. You will be amazed, it is the best realism in sim racing!! Thank you for the interesting video!
Yes, I also thought about the BTCC cars watching this video. It feels so intuitive, I don't have a lot of real life experience. You almost feel round per round naturally where you could improve and you can be aggresive immediately. Those BTCC cars are something special.
Morad go vroom! Great content! Mainly play Gran Turismo myself as it's pick up and play. Be interested in seeing your opinions on iRacing vs ACC vs GT7
I don’t think there would be much of a comparison in terms of simulation to GT7 as it isn’t designed as a simulator. It’s more of a simulator/arcade style game where it’s accessible to the masses and easy to play. With any game, they are all hard to master.
@@danielmorad don’t think you can make that conclusion about GT7 without first testing it. I’m curious about the comparison. You can’t hustle the car in iRacing and need to underdrive. You can hustle the car in GT7 and it’s more closely related to ACC in that regard. The tire model is not as extensive as the PC sims but there is a good case for it and can have advantages over iRacing’s model. There’s a reason GT driver can jump over and be competitive in PC sims immediately.
I just jumped into a GT3 fixed race, and this video very much hit me in the feels. Felt like I could carry a lot of speed into the corner, but then mid to corner exit it was so damn weird trying to figure out what the car wanted. Never raced cars in real life, but have been on iracing for 15 years. 😂
MGV! Thanks for the excellent feedback. I think your criticisms are spot-on. We (iRacing, this is one of my project cars) are actively working on improvements to address the mid-corner feel of the tires (across all non-dirt cars). The on-throttle performance issues you describe come from several details in iRacing's model of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020. There is one aspect of the rear suspension model for this car that we are also working to improve. It would be interesting to get your feedback on the on-throttle behavior of some of the other iRacing GT3 cars compared to the Merc-AMG.
I’m very excited to read this. It’s something I explained in the video and I know that there are going to be changes coming. I’m really excited to try the updates. I’ve been so busy and haven’t been able to get on my alpha account, but I would like to help out more with this.
It's refreshing to see these videos. It cuts through a lot of 'fanboy' noise when it's being explained by someone who drives the real cars, and hopefully this feedback is something that will be shared either directly or indirectly with Dave regarding the iRacing tire model. It's come a long way in recent years, excited to see where they take it.
It’s definitely come a long way and all the symptoms are improving. ACC has gotten much better since the last time I’ve driven it and iRacing is in the right direction. They are both on the cusp of being incredible complete packages.
Just GREAT WORK ! I mean it, your channel became one of the very few channels that I really follow because I really like simracing/motorsport so all this informative vids are so useful to know shared by a real life experienced driver. Keep it posting and hope you will do this a long time, we need it all. 🏁🏁🏁👍
I cannot imagine you gave 2 vs 8+ for braking ACC vs iR. Anyway, thanks for the opinion, it's valuable. Really, one of the best videos. I love such ones. Everything must be real!!! :D
Agreed with most of your points. In IRacing it’s very hard to control wheel spin once it starts and the knife edge you describe is worse with the rear tires. Kind of shows in the band aid that is starting tires above track temp on every car. They are already so gripped you can’t buzz the tires from a stop.
There definitely needs to be an overhaul on the tires. I feel like once they can get it dialled in to feel better in the middle of the corner and exit, nothing else will compare.
Morad go Vroom :) love your work bro. Unfortunately, everytime you have been streaming on twitch lately, Im in bed but I'll try to set an alarm to catch you live next time

My first impression watching the split screen video comparison is how much the real car shakes around compared with iRacing. Haha thanks so much. Yeah used that overtaking video and put it into practice in the race yesterday.
Another banger of a video! So if you take the physical fitness and endurance aspects out of it, overall which one do you think is more difficult to drive? Morad go Vroom ;)
@@Nineteenfivepointfive Get a life
Completely agree. Not that I don't trust Daniel, just, would like another pro opinion. I used to watch Nikki Thiim when he was posting a lot.
@@adSlim Sure, I like rf2 a lot. Was my go to sim for a while but this game is dead in terms of multiplayer so I don't even have it installed anymore.
@@adSlim because it is. Iracing is really outdated and has a too poor physics, even raceroom is better right now
This is the perfect angle for us sim racers: we crave knowing real-life racers' views on sims' realism! Thanks and all the best with the channel 🙂
Morad go vroom! Thanks for the videos, exactly what I (and I think many others) have been looking for - someone who does this in real life, who really knows what's going on, sharing his knowledge and helping sim racers improve. Awesome stuff.
Glad to help! welcome to the community :)
Morad go VROOM.
As someone who is new to sim racing and a new fan of GT racing, you've quickly grown to become one of my favorite drivers. I watched the COTA races the other day and loved the half orange half black livery on your car and then I found your channel and you seem like a really cool person as well. Good luck in Virginia!
Thanks so much! Any chance that you will attend a race this year?
@@danielmorad the closest race to me would be Sebring in September. That would be really cool.
Love it. This is the content that sim racing needs.
Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it.
@@danielmorad can you do gran turismo 7 vs real life ?
@@olavofernandes7286 You'll be very disappointed if he does 😂. GT is worse than iRacing
Nice to see input from a real GT3 driver, regarding the on throttle i can feel that myself and obviously never drove GT3, so nice to get a confirmation on that
Morad go vroom. You're one of the few you tubers that can hold my attention to the end and your videos are well presented and genuinely helpful. Keep up the good work!
Morad go vroom. Loving the channel so far! I just discovered it from a Reddit comment and made the connection that you were the guy I just saw win the GT4 race at Detroit last weekend. Congrats on the win man!
Epic. Thanks so much man. We’ve made it on Reddit. Wow. That’s how you know you’ve made it lmao. Just kidding haha
Morad go vroom!! Seriously though, great content. I appreciate your honestly giving us the good and bad. I hope that little nugget you dropped about the tire model comes true, because that would be great. Another thing your channel has done is connect you the race car driver with us fans. I can't say I had someone to root for in GT racing, but I do now.
I’m sure it’ll be improved soon. Thanks so much for supporting :)
Great comparison Daniel. I appreciate the time and effort you have put into letting us sim racers understand what you, the IRL driver, experience, and the disconnects. Thank you bud, good luck, and keep the info coming!!
Morad go Vroom!
Thanks so much and thank you for watching the entire video. I will keep bringing content like this to channel.
Morad Go Vroom, great video, would love to see your thoughts on acc vs iracing someday. Really loved the split screen comparison and was impressed at how close the times were.
Morad go vroom! Man thanks for the content you create it’s awesome to see the perspective of a real life racer. I’ve learned a lot so far looking forward to more. Good luck the rest of this season, go get a championship!
Thanks so much. Going to keep pushing flat out!!
Nice video 👍 You have well expressed the feeling that we can feel on these three phases between Real and Sim
Thanks so much. I feel like a lot will change in the coming weeks with these updates coming to iRacing.
Awesome video, Daniel! Absolutely LOVE the real life comparison from your event at COTA vs iRacing on your sim rig.
We're so excited to be launching our esports championship with iRacing this month!
Also love the AMG GT3 you've been driving. Such a beast!
Thanks so much. All the best with your championship. Kenton explained it a little bit to me and sounds great.
Can't wait to see your comparisons with other sims! Morad go vroom!
It will be coming soon. I’m just getting comfortable with ACC.
Morad go Vroom! Awesome video. It's great to see the perspective of someone that knows how things should feel.
I subbed a couple weeks ago and have really been enjoying the content. Hope to see this channel blow up!
Thank you so much and glad to have you part of our community
Love watching videos like this. Keep up the excellent content, man. Hopefully Iracing continues to take constructive criticism from real drivers. Oh ya, and Morad go vroom 🏁🏁
Morad go vroom! Thanks so much for making this, can't wait to see more! These kinds of videos help so much in both refining my driving style and reinstating why I simrace, so thank you so much!
Happy to help!
Please do a similar ACC comparison!!🤞🏼
Now that I have it set up on my PC, I’ll get it done
Yes yes yes please!
ACC vs iRacing war incoming :D
@@danielmorad I don't like tires in iR, so, please, everything about tires :)
I completely agree with this video: M3Wt2fIiURs
And looks like you are agree with that in 7:00. Seem nothing changed after 2 y =)
That's the main reason why I quitted from iR.
Good job in this video, by the way.
@@danielmorad Just make sure you have the stability control off before forming an invalid opinion. 😅
Morad go vroom! Your ffb settings have helped me gain both time and confidence in my driving. I'll be picking up some gloves from your store and I am honestly very appreciative of your helpful content.
Amazing man! Don’t forget to use the code for 10% off :)
Regarding on-throttle. Do you think you could change the throttle curve in your pedal software to compensate and maybe make it fell more "real"?
Absolutely
we all want real life vs RF2 ... ! excellent video Dani. congrats
I have seen that 😂
Iracing looks like you're driving on a smooth glass surface (and in my experience that's how it feels), totally takes away the immersion for me when you can see how much more the real car bounces around.
ACC actually has feedback you can actually feel the car doing something, there is no feeling in Iracing fbb and I have tried it with a hybrid gear wheel and a dd wheel so I am not just saying something without having tried it.
iRacing's COTA scan is from before the track started falling apart due to the bad ground it's on.
Bro you just gained a Subscriber! Cheers from Canada! I love that you are an actual Race Driver and giving your feedback from real life for the simulators!
The videos on defending and overtaking have been extremely helpful to me. They helped me improve my approach to these strategies, particularly the defending video. I've applied some of the tips you mentioned in the last few races, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my ability to defend my position. MORAD GO VROOM!

Always trying to find ways to make the sim better replicate the real world experience! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these videos, I will certainly be spreading the word on all the great content you have to my racing community!!
I'm not a pro driver, just a fast amateur one, and I totally agree with you Daniel. Braking on IRacing is something so close to reality! Module the braking and keep that ultra small percentage until you are right inside the corner. Especially I like those cars with no ABS in the game, so close to reality! Great Videos and great contents!!
Thanks a lot. I think there’s a lot to improve from the middle to exit but braking is awesome
@@danielmorad true that! best video of yours helped me a lot was "REALISTIC FOV GUIDE FOR SIM RACING". Truly helpful, my setup was decent, but now definitely is on TOP! thx

Cool to watch this video after witnessing your Race win at Detroit in person. Such a good drive!
Thanks a lot man. Detroit was really nice
Hi Dani! great video! what I like the most is that we had the opportunity to talk about it at the Circuit of the Americas! greetings from Costa Rica and I hope to see you again in another race! regards Joe! friend of Devinder to whom you signed the white gloves.

Thanks a lot. My pleasure to bring it to you
awesome content again , love to see same comparing with Asetto Corsa Competizione ...that fight you speak of the wheel in mid corner definitely more pronounced
I had a lot of fun with it the other day.
I especially love the content with the explanation on how to drive/technique
Since your video about the simucube profiles I only use yours. They are so well made! ❤️
Thanks for watching it :)

Morad go vroom, Great content as always, A true insight to what racing really is. It would be interesting to see a split screen with ACC and iRacing going over the differences in the braking, mid corner and throttle 👍
Happiest New Year Daniel
I’m a SCCA member with a Toyota Celica 2000 full competition race car. I also have a sim rig that I practice with on Iracing so thank you for all your helpful contents. So again Happy 2024.
Morad go vroom! I am interested in how you compare latest updates in ACC to iRacing - if you could cover that one, that would be great :)
Morad go vroom 🤙
I have no experience with real life racing so I was not surprised that ACC (my current favorite sim) might not have been seen favorably by you for braking feel, but maybe not to such an extent.
From the sounds of it, the developers are listening, and are ready to make changes. Get ready for the next six months. I’m sure a lot will change.
Loving the content, all the best,

Morad Go Vroom! I drank the ACC Kool aid awhile back but I still enjoyed the hell out of this vid. Godspeed
Haha thanks man. I like ACC too. Braking needs to improve but it feels better with 1.9
I agree with what you've said here.
Great video - awesome comparison, really interesting! Thanks for making!
Thanks a lot Brad!
A lot will change. The updates coming this week will be interesting
Morad go vroom! 🤣 Your videos on seating position and FOV were game changing for me. Thanks for sharing your real world experience!
Glad you liked it! ACC does the mid corner and exit better than iRacing so you know that. A lot will change soon with tires.

@@danielmorad I’ve started racing in the AMG 2020 GT3 (inspired). May I ask do you go as far into the redline on hards as you do softs? If not what’s your advice. I’m finding I’m lossing a lot if time on the long straights when on hards, even when I get a good corner exit.
