I've noticed that if you check the terminals and look at the staff roster, it removes personnel you have dispatched. Good way to make sure you got everyone or get a count of the number of guards remaining.
Magnificent. As always, you've raised mass murder to an art form as well as a spectator sport. No matter how many settlements I raze, I always learn new details and subtleties when I watch your videos.
Your videos have always been excellent and I'm delighted that Buur mentions you. Your explanation of the mechanics of stealth, the organisation of settlements and the details on collecting assets, goods and data helped me more than any other source in going from a non-FPS player to fully upgraded suits and all Odyssey engineers unlocked. Thank you! PS Paired with the ED Odyssey Materials Helper this man's guides will give you everything you need even if you're a complete FPS novice like me.
You are so awesome and you really let me pick up my game on PC after being a seasoned PS4 player and not having a clue how it's done proper. Keep up the good work
Glad to see you back. Earlier Video's were super useful and really helped my get to grips with Odyssey missions. Loved the new video carrier briefing was brilliantly done.
It is a bit of an older video, but this type of settlement I learned some tricks getting into the on-foot missions and off course materials. One thing I figured out is to drop the authorization level once you step inside the CMD building. Guards can scan you, but your clean. Giving you lots of opportunity to plan the kill for the two guards. When dead you can scan again for cloning. Much less stressful I'd say ;-)
You, Sir, are my personal hero for today. That was a great video. Yery entertaining and helpful. My problem is still to do all the engineering to have the ability to hide and sneak in a killful way. Quite often it ends in a heavy shooting and then my attempt to flee. Sometimes successful, sometimes not. 😀
The video presentation is also very nice, both for graphics and data. For my stealth character I preferred to replace the extra backpack mod with the jump mod because in these missions most of the time I don't collect materials. I find it useful to be able to move in flight from one roof to another, in low gravity planets you can travel considerable distances.
Fully intend to spotlight this video as the highlight of all of ED this week! Will of course link to your awesome channel and tell people to come to you. o7
Always take your SRV and dismiss your ship. You can use the contacts panel of your SRV to find anyone and usually find them visually or get 20 m or so from them. SRV is also the Easiest way of removing scavengers.
Nice video, it would be nice to show a Takedown video without all the engineering for newer players. There is a feeling amongst many that the missions are impossible without fully engineered weapons and suits and the game itself does not encourage a "give it a try" attitude where players would take extra risks to find out what they are capable of. For example, the entire mission shown in the video, including the silent takedowns can be accomplished with no engineering using the charging tools discharge function yet there are many players that don't even know you can use that mode for a one shot takedown of an unaware (unshielded) target. That is my preferred method using the stealth tips from your excellent tutorials.
Yes, you're right and I think it's important new players have guides and I'd say the majority of my videos do cater for totally new players. Bear in mind that this is my first video where I've showcased engineered items. 1/10 isn't too bad, I don't think :) I did do a video in Alpha that showcased how to use the discharge function by the way (I took out a settlement of scavengers with it). It was easily the least popular video I've released :D I de-listed it and may intend to do another about it but people have asked me to showcase mission runs and I think it's OK to do that with modifications; that is what they're there for, afterall and it's really useful to see how they can be used, I think. I'm happy to show how to run this exact mission, or any other, without using modifications. It's possible to run this mission without killing anyone except the target and without carrying a single weapon. And you can just sneak up and zap everyone (I'd say, functionally, there's little difference between the way I did it and that, it just takes a bit longer to do) Maybe in another video ;) I think a guide solely on the use of the overcharged tool could be useful, perhaps.
@@StealthBoyElite I agree, functionally the video would have been almost the same which highlights one of the strengths of how FDEV have balanced it. The outcome is more dependant on player ability than gear. Well, until the point where it all goes pear-shaped and you try zapping a target without enough power in the tool, you get the spark which counts as a weapon discharge so alerts the target but no damage. In nearly all my cases of missions getting suddenly spicy it started with being crouched behind my target with a flat battery /facepalm. :)
I think that we all hope that Elite will continue to interest us? I have certainly had my moments, where I feel there is to little happening? We can only live in hope? Though Frontier are very bad at giving hope, unfortunately... Cheers ;)
So that Goliath totally ignored the fact that you were killing security staff. I guess that's because the alarms were turned off? So under what circumstances do they attack? I've gotten those things mad at me when on foot and it never turned out well.
@@StealthBoyElite So before the alarms are turned off, will the Goliath react if they see you doing an illegal clone or see you using the arc cutter to break in (assuming no guards spot you)?
@@scbfromnc6100 No, they don't "see" you so they don't count as being seen, committing an illegal act but they really do constantly mess with you because they are just another triangle and they have LOS to you so they show up like a person looking making me paranoid a lot. If the alarms go off though they will engage you and if they can't find you then anything of yours parked close enough to engage. I THINK it also engaged once when I got spotted by a red dot outside and they alerted everyone around even though the alarms were down been a while so I'm not 100% sure on that.
If you get noticed inside a level 3 (any level really) room and drop your illegally scanned access...will you still be alerted because you're "not supposed to be in here"??
A G1 executioner will 1 shot kill an unshielded target. It will 2 shot kill a shielded target. However if it's not silenced you have to be creative how you use it or others hear the shot and come after you.
how come all have a bounty in this settlement? u should check before killing if they have a bounty or u are a pirate... shoot then ask questions...mmm it doesn t make sense going around jumping without being questioned game design mechanix plus player interpretantion is not immersive
@@DNH17 it's a settlement owned by a criminal faction and every npc there is part of that faction. By definition, they're all criminals. They just don't all have a bounty. I just play the game based on its rules.

Stealth is by far one of the most fun gameplay elements of Odyssey ngl
You should have signposted this has product placement. Lavian Brandy had clearly sponsored this video.

this (and all your videos I've seen so far) are both so informative and relaxing. love the format and narration styles! keep it up :)
I have done this settlement so many times enjoy you doing it welcome back

Great to see you back doing your thing....Ace
It´s the "Oh boy! Here I go killing again" show! (Krombopolous Michael-the series.)
Awesome video. Also, I want you to design the UI for Odyssey now.
Those plentiful quirks of yours make you a 90s movie villain, StealthBoy
Top notch quality video, tips, animation and great narration. Lots of work went into this clearly. The bar has been raised :)
Additional tip: To speed up my mission by a few seconds I start the data download first, while I loot nearby lockers
Same. Also, I do all of the power station looting after I've begun the process of dissembling the power regulator.
A really good video cdmr. A joy to watch. You are most welcome to make another one like these.
😄 I'm looking forward to some new stealthy info. What I've learned has been invaluable so far. 🍻

I would like to summit an application to the StealthBoy academy of not dying or getting my face shot off . Where should I send said application ?

As long as it's not a restricted area, no
This must be an anarchy system right? Since you aren't getting bounties or notoriety?
!! I have a challenge. Come back to ED and help resolve the "power classified data" collection goal. Spent days on that and still nothing.

A bit of a heavily engineered build required tho
