The one that competes with TRD pro is the ZR2; (33 inch wheels, 3 inch lift, 310 HP, etc). You can get a zr2 loaded for 51-52K since you can get a modest discount an dlower interest rates with Chevy. The 2024 TRD pro, if you can get it, after dealers mark ups, are going fo rover 80k? MSRP Starts at 66K, but effectively people are paying over 80K. That is 60% more than a Checy colorado ZR2??? I bought a ZR2 myself and love it.
Canyon AT4 is the one I want.
It’s what I picked over the taco, $7k less for about the same trim as the premium package taco. Also has a lifetime power train warranty from my dealer, 10year bumper to bumper (extra) and a far better motor than the taco. Dedicated turbo fan for longer life and an over built lower end in the engine. Main reasons I went Canyon over the taco. Super comfortable seats also something the taco still does not have. They are better seats but still don’t compare to the Canyon’s seats…
The zr2 is a cool trim.
I’m either going for the Chevy Colorado Z71 or the Canyon elevation.

Don't like that rear window slider is manual only and not power operation
I like the GMC Canyon. But I can’t give up that Toyota reliability.
I like the black Trail Boss. The GMC with the " PIMP LOGO" grill would be the first thing to go if I could find a suitable aftermarket grill.
The GM turbo max engine / transmission comes with a 100,000 thousand miles /5 years warranty , that includes Colorado , Silverado , Sierra 1500 and Canyon . Is been out since 2019 on Silverados , and very little issues , the engine was refresh in 2023 to fix any bugs.
I prefer the Tacoma gen 4. Next choice would be the frontier and then the Colorado.
Good looking trucks
All these.mid-size trucks have their advantages. I'd be happy with any of them .
I like the canyon but if i had to bet I would have to say the 3rd generation Toyota is far more reliable

I've had such bad luck with GM vehicles I don't think I could ever buy another no matter how nice they look
My old 2019 Tacoma gave me so many issues and dumped it with 44,000 miles. You couldn’t give me another. My first Toyota and first impression of the brand was subpar. Hesitant to even consider a 2024+ due to that experience. I’m most interested in GM twins if I decide to grab another midsize.

They have a flap to keep stuff out. No worries.
@@RobMotive oh, I understand there’s a flap. But if you spend enough time off road, the dust does get through the door, and the dust will be all over that flap, and you will be introducing that dirt into your fuel. Guaranteed

The engines are different. Same displacement but factory tuned for more horsepower and torque

On the cool factor the Tacoma is lacking big time, at least of the ones that are currently available. The Ranger Raptor, several higher end trims of the canyon and Colorado are just better IMO.

I'd buy a used Tacoma before I'd ever own another GM product. It's absolutely not worth the typical GM poor quality.
