this is genuinely one of the first pedals in ages that makes me wanna break my vow of gear acquisition abstinence. been wanting a lofi pedal like this for ages!
$350...I wish that I never knew this thing existed. I feel like I just watched that video from The Ring and now I have to purchase this pedal in the next 7 days or else I'll die.
@@nedim_guitar for sure, but I was also impressed by the nice cleaner tones available out of the pedal, definitely not only for lo-fi bit crushing sounds
@@yurijogurtsov8710 The pedal does what it does and the sounds speak for themselves. Of course it's a paid review, of course it's marketing. You got a problem with that?
@@MrKadidle51 The knobs alone will get you a lot of different tones. My bass board has 5 KMA pedals and 5 SA pedals at the moment (plus Strymon, and a couple random other pedals). Been considering a midi controller of some sort to replace my stupid switcher but programming it scares me a bit :)
Man, that gets a V for Versatility! Reminds me of listening to my shortwave radio when I was a kid. The glitch mode is worth the price of admission! 😎🎸
Yeah, this pedal also really took me by surprise. Just so well thought out and it sounds incredible. Stoked to hear you enjoyed the demo and found it helpful :)
I have a Source Audio EQ2. It is made well, reliable and super useful both sonically and even for utilities like switching instruments and managing levels. I certainly recommend their pedals. This one sounds amazing, been holding out for a "lo-fi" pedal, this might be it. Awesome pickin' Stefan!
Amazing tones! I love Source Audio. Also, they just redesigned the Neuro editing apps for desktop, iOS, and Android for a much cleaner, thoughtful experience!
Source Audio has entered into the world of lo fi stuff. Now, I'm going to watch the demo. It could be a gamechanger. Thanks dear Stefan! Greetings dude. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Definitely check out the Ultrawave while you're at it. You'll never have a more intense term, and awesome multiband distortion. But even just as a dual comp dual graphic EQ it's nearly worth its price
Very interesting, it seems to be an extremely versatile toolbox for texture that sounds easy to fit in a band context too, compared to other pedals in the same vein. Source Audio is really surprising me with this one.
Feels like they got 90% of a Gen Loss and Warped Vinyl into a computer editable pedal, added a bitcrusher, and somehow also fit 20% of a Microcosm in with the glitch mode. Now I have to rework my entire pedalboard colorscheme.
@FuzzFace Think you should be able to get pretty close in Radio Mode. It’ll give you access to Filter, Compression and Mod Depth + Rate like the Instant Lo-Fi Junkie. On top of that you get access to extra noise textures and modulation shapes… and that’s just in that one single mode. You should definitely be able to get a good part of the way 😊👍
Vinyls is not plural for more than one record. Vinyl is both singular and plural when referring to record albums. Amazing pedal demo by the way. I'll be ordering one on payday tomorrow!
I tend to think of Chase Bliss Audio pedals as desktop pieces--SO MUCH HANDS-ON TWEAKING--and as such they're not well suited for pedalboards and live performance. This has kept me from picking up a Generation Loss mkII. But the Artifakt seems to hit the sweet spot for me. Much more pedalboard-friendly. I'll be on the lookout for this!
Wow, that's an impressive pedal! I might have made the right choice by not committing to a high-end lo-fi machine before because this thing just does it all 😮 I mean chorus, tape, vinyl, scalable noise, saturation, sequencing AND that beautiful distorted reverb. And with the 16 presets you don't have to keep tweaking forever. Seriously impressed and the price is fair given the feature set
Things like the Strymon Deco, Chase Bliss Generation Loss, SolidGoldFX NU-33 and some more boutique/smaller manufacturers. Basically check out The Pedal Zone's last 5 years of videos. He's done almost all/any lo-fi pedal.
Damn never thought Id see a Chase Bliss Killer from Source Audio in this pedal format.. I'm too lazy to do the editor thingy but this format lets you get tons of sounds thru the pedal..
Wow! This thing is incredible. Source Audio never miss! I might have to get one... (I bet Red Panda are kicking themselves that they didn't make this pedal first. 😜)
This pedal reminds me of studio bands put together by major labels in the 90s trying to capture the dirty " grunge" sound they thought the kids wanted. They were just a couple of years late and lacked authenticity.
I am in my mid-50's and just started to learn to play bass 9 months ago. Scant musical experience beforehand. I have the After Shock and love playing with it and having fun learning. But this thing sounds utterly amazing too! Would love to know how it sounds with the bass.

Perfect person to showcase this fantastic machine 🙌. Studio board has the nemesis & ventris on it as the “catch all” add one for my regular delay & reverbs…this may have to join them.
Thank you for the kind words and support, my friend. Never goes unnoticed 🥰 And yeah, if you're already familiar with Source Audio and what their devices are capable of, then this one should feel right at home with you.
Thank you so much! I've actually had the Ultrawave for a while now, and I seriously love the sounds. I just wish it wasn't so dependent on using the editor and app. That's actually what's been keeping me from making a demo. I get option paralysis whenever I open up that editor. Would be awesome if they made a new Ultrawave in the same format as Artifakt. Just to get a bit more access to some of the important controls in there. But other than that, it's one of the most unique and interesting dirt devices made in the last 10 years, in my opinion.
I've been watching all the vids on this. So far...you win TH-cam! Pat yourself on the back. How would you compare the "pre-delay" effects of the Meris LVX to this? The Empress Zoia? I have both of the aforementioned. Trying to see if the Artifact makes sense, or if I'd be "doubling down" on something that I can already do.
Kind of has a Soviet vibe to me... aesthetically speaking.😂 My birthday is Friday...need to show this to my wife and work on my puppy eyes. What phone app was that?
It's called Coldplay:Hypnotised. Not sure it's available anymore. But if you want something similar then check out Bloom:10 Worlds. Happy you liked the demo!
My entire bass board is SA pedals except for my Jive tape saturator for low gain tape saturation mainly for vintage R&B style music. Will this pedal give me that as well on bass?
Yeah, you can definitely get low-gain tape ssaturation out of this thing. If it'll sound the same as your Jive? Don't know. But will it sound great? Yes!
It's amazing- costs almost as much as my guitar, but it sounds great. Probably for the best, I'm sick of apps anyway- after buying and using the UAFX Lion '68 I'd be fine with never having another pedal that uses an app. But pedal makers seem bent on the idea of making everything work with the phone or the PC or both nowadays. It's getting hard to find anything that doesn't require USB-C, Bluetooth, and an app on your phone to work fully. The Lion 68 shows up needing a firmware update that will also install 3 more cabs and give you a bunch of presets to choose from- and until you get it, it sounds like crap. After the update though- sounds amazing and now you have some presets- which are important because this is a very difficult pedal to dial in on certain tones. The sweet spot for each parameter is very small and they all work together so it's like chasing a moving target- you will get it, but it takes a good while and a lot of effort. Besides, the presets come with stuff like reverb on them that's not on the pedal- the only way to get it is to get the preset.
“How many effects are you going to put into one pedal?”

That's the right answer :D
