    Thanks Bill , In Plane mode it is a Delta so coordinated turns are the method to turn especially sharp turns as the nose will always drop due to the shape of the wing. This is exaggerated in this model because the two props and battery are located forwards so when in a turn and the nose naturally drops the added weight/thrust of the motors and props makes the nose in stronger. This nose drop in turns is also evidenced in the standard Delta/Chevron type flying wings . After a while your brain naturally rectifies this type of flight.

      I bet the stabilization would fix that...though it's kinda cheating.

    Interesting video Bill. I eventually picked up the XK X450 (with some trepidation after seeing some problems highlighted on the first videos/forum posts) after a year's enjoyment of the X520 Vtol. Then this arrives - supposedly with some advantages over the 450 such as a working auto take off. Not convinced now that I've done the wrong thing but I hope you get it all sorted out.
    A couple of points - at 2.17 the motors are 1307 not 1370 (& I'm at that stage of life also. ;-) ) At 3.35 & 6.54 someone really should take a red pencil and correct the stick identifications and "Tips" info. Also tell the Banggood copy writers that "Press the Mode button to power on and switch mode" does not mean the same as "Press the Mode button and power on to switch mode!" Good that you showed how to do it correctly. It would be nice to see the auto take off & land function tried in any follow-up video as well as the motor kill and motor failsafe characteristics.
    Best wishes for the coming festive season and I hope it's cooler than here. :-)

    These things actually break their serves REALLY easily. I'd recommend swapping them for a metal gear servo of the same size. Every review I've seen so far has ended with one or two stripped servos. Other than that, they are very twitchy but they're fairly solid overall and take a crash fairly well.

    • @billpiano
      @billpiano 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think jjrc should offer suitable servos . The problem is widespread. Bill even broke one in the demo so it can happen to a very experienced pilot

    only major issue with this JJRC M02 review - VTOL is if it hits the ground it strips the gogs in the servos.you can buy metal gear servos for it though from bangood and then they will last

    MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR IDEA..... I own the mo2 and I absolutely love it and here is an idea for you jjrc pay attention!! What you have here is a great seller easy flyer and tons of potential all you need to do is put a GPS system on it with the return to home function and I guarantee it would be next year's biggest seller and I would be the first in line to buy!! I'm not a builder I buy my planes ready to fly if I knew how to build it I would can you please do this???

    Nice video..
    I have a question, in horizontal mode, are the controller surface configured in mixing with aileron+elevator? As all delta wings will have this mixing to gain altitude during turning

    • @BillMRC

      Hi, thank you for watching & commenting, always much appreciated :-) I presume it should but as this is RTF I cannot change any mixer settings. Thanks for the sharing.
      May be it need to maintain higher air speed while turning, and not to band too much, and pulling the elevator to make effective turning.

  • @rc-fannl7364

    Seems like it is prone to tip stall in horizontal mode. Maybe it's the wing profile, or it's a bit heavy for it's wing area.

    • @BillMRC
      @BillMRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you for watching & commenting, always much appreciated :-) Thank you for this observation too, the cog does seem to be forward heavy in horizontal mode.

      All chevrons/deltas drop their nose in a turn , it is exaggerated here because of the weight upfront.

      Bill : flick it into horizontal mode
      Plane flies by
      Plane turns , there is a CLICK, plane falls down.
      You NEVER change flight mode in a banked turn , try it with a quad and watch it have a heart attack.
      The second one was 100% pilot error. Personally i think that one was a mix of low battery and too low throttle.
