Today was such a great day of RC for us :) It's not every day I can say that, and come home with a huge smile, wanting all of my friends to try something out. The XK X450 has provided us with that amazing experience that just fuels our passion for the hobby! Mine drifts a lot on the horizontal mode. How do I get it to hover
I’m 40ish an got this for Christmas an love it!!! I fly in my front yard in a subdivision. Take it up in drone mode an throw it into plane mode above the houses. Flys so easy in safe mode yet i can still get it to cyclone spin. Not sure how I stumbled onto this channel but you have a loyal subscriber in me! Thank you for the always unbiased reviews you guys provide for the RC hobby!
I have to say, been watching for years, bought a couple things you’ve shown. I have done boats, cars, planes drones and helis. This looks like the most fun of anything yet. Definitely a winner!

When you did those pirouettes in vertical flight, the first thing that came to mind was, *"O COOL! WASHINGMACHINE MODE!!!"* because it looked like the agitator in a washer. ;-)

I love flying mine, it's so stable, and over 13 minutes flight time. Very durable and well built,It costs less than 180 dollars.
I watched this video and ordered the plane for myself. I came on December 14, 2019. I love it. I does meet my expectations fully. I have not pushed the red button as yet, but wish to get used to it for several flights before I go to 3-D mode. A great plane. Lots of fun.

Okay...so I'm learning that "easy" to fly for you doesn't mean that I won't crash it. I crashed it on the maiden flight. Bought another one. Crashed it. Fixed it. Flew it well. Went out again. Crashed it. They're not forgiving when they crash. So now I've got two of these, both broken awaiting parts.
At first I thought it was just gonna be a convergence clone, but it adds another neat feature to the vertical flight regime, while retaining incredibly crisp transition and flight on such a small platform! Is actually pretty impressive
I may not be the most perceptive person in the world, but I think the RC Saylors REALLY like this one!!! LOL!!!! This is really freaking cool!!!!
Yes, you are absolutely right, among all the full scale as well as toy scale evtol models this model is highly balanced in all aspects including manuoerablity, l wish to make a two seater real evtol like this, All the best sir 😄

10/10 for enthusiasm and energy, I like this plane and even though I am 61 and should be checking on Cricket scores and what next door's cat does to my vegetable garden I'd much, much much rather be out and about with something like this so I am going to make one! ( I'll post the results on TH-cam-somehow!)

Interesting that you said for a drone flyer to get into planes. Our Buddy Rick let me fly his XK X520 while in North Carolina and I was HOOKED! I had 10 drones but now only fly 1 just to video my plane flights.
XK does make some really durable fun planes, I should know, I crashed mine at full speed with FPV into myself and a light pole. Videos are embarrassing but funny.
This one looks even more durable and fun! I may pick one of these up for my Son In Law for Christmas!

Wow, another winner from XK! The takeoff capabilities of the X450 and what it can do in the air are amazing!
This is my second VTOL because of you two, and I haven’t even flown my first one!!!! But I am definitely flying this one. I love the “drone mode”.
The camera on the X520 also never amounted to much (except for filming ground whizzing by most of the time) so it will be kinda the same for a possible camera version of this one; those swivels they have installed can't be pointed straight forwards and always point down: no use. Using something like a small SQ camera, a 808 #16 camera or a Mobius Mini would yield much better results.
Just got mine today, of course its raining, cant wait to try it.

Fun plane! XK keeps rocking the RC world for most fun on a budget (them and WL Toys). I have the XK X520, the other one you mentioned that you reviewed, and it still holds up. Having fun seeing you guys doing the mini-unofficial-plane-week!

I own an XK X520 (the other one y'all refer to), and it's great. But I haven't been really excited about an RC much of late. I am halfway through this video and I know I will get one of these. And soon, before the price goes up. :)

I can already see that this is way better then version 1.
My 450 lasted one flight. Now both flaps are broke off and one of the motors snapped off. 2 of the crashes were caused by the v-mde sending it into a wonky spin and twice it just dropped out of the sky in winged mode. My 520 is still good to go. It flies on 3S too...

Love it! This one looks great. What I like about vtol is you can fly it from your front yard. It doesn't need a long runway to take off and land, just go in drone mode take off the back in same mode to land. Can it take of and land in vertical mode as well? I believe this maybe one of the coolest rc products I've ever seen on your channel.

That was one nifty plane. A plane, a quad, an acrobatic flyer definitely one to get.Maybe with all that fancy acrobatic flying you were doing a 🦋🦋Butterfly mating flight.🦋🦋. Then when you were holding the plane, you broke💔💔 the poor Butterflies 🦋🦋 little heart. 😊😊😊. ⚓👍👍💖⚓⚓.
Add another to my want list. Not to impress as I mostly fly in an empty field. Well, the hawk and the other wildlife might be impressed. lol. It just looks like a lot of fun.
I own the XK 520 VTOL. What I don't like about it is the fact you cannot fly it like a drone. This appeals to me not only for my RC club, but in drone mode, I can fly it around the house. By the way for some of you folks that ask or want to place a GoPro on everything. Please, not with this. There are much smaller cameras like the Mobius mini at 22 grams.. I just ordered my XK X450...
The X450 is definitely a fun model! I flew a couple batteries today at the park and had a group of little kids running after it. The adults think I am a pro pilot when all I am doing is hitting a few buttons, lol. Thanks for the video review, going to watch and see if I can get any pointers ;)

I bought this on your recommendations. It it easy to fly and will do unreal acrobatics. BUT the front servos are horrible. First flight, took it up about 40 feet. Did some banks, rolls, vertical climbs, diving to 20 feet letting go of the stick, it leveled out perfectly. Figured it was time to land and see where the battery was. Flipped the switch & the plane whined loudly & death spiralled into the ground. I killed the thrust before it crashed but even after the crash the plane was still whining. It was the port front servo. It was extremely hot. I unplugged the plane and removed the cowling. The servo motor had swelled the servo casing. Tookn it apart and sure enough it had chewed several teeth on the gears & when it over heated it melted the plastic casing. I thought odd, it must be s bad servo. So off i went to order more props & servos. I ordered 2 of the front & rear servos. Two weeks later. I changed out the servo & went flying. This time I kept it simple. Took it up to 30 feet & flew a figure 8 banked it back to me. Then leveled it out. Throttled down to 20% and flipped the switch to hover. Same thing death spiral to the ground. This time it was the servo I didn't replace. Ok the two that came with it were bad. I had a spare. I swapped it out. Went out again, and hovered to 20 ft switched to flight mode went out 40 feet and banked back. Switched to hover and poof instant death spiral. I have 2 metal gear replacements on order. If you buy this plane, don't fly, it till you replace the front servos. Or you will be very disappointed.

Best part about this plane/drone, is I can take flight from my highly restricted backyard. Straight up above the tree tops, then time to fly.

yea its a lot easier to fly than the xk 520 V.T.O.L as it has a hover mode . the 520 doesn't like staying in the vertical mode too long and doesn't handle wind too well like that .this one you can land easy . nice plane need to get this . cheers for the vidio
It is great. It is helping me with my plane flying skills and when I lose control I can throw the switch. I like amazing stuff because it helps me have more fun.
