When I was in college the Game Boy Color was still pretty new, but I bought a Nomad on sale. I do wish I got _”into it”_ as the ad would go with the Game Boy color, but portable Sonic, Strider, Samurai Shodown, Super Street Fighter 2, Streets of Rage 2 and Weapon Lord were too compelling a value proposition. It never went with me anywhere, and it was basically an impulse purchase, but I loved it. Great Stuff, as always!
My older brother saved his money to buy a Genesis with Altered Beast. By the time I saved enough to get my own, I got Sonic the Hedgehog. Getting a certain game with the system was absolutely a reason we chose the systems we did. I try to keep up that tradition, but I think the last system I bought that came bundled with a game was the Xbox 360 Halo edition. Every system needs to bundle a game. At least a comprehensive demo disk! What happened to demo disks?!? Anyway...Thanks for the video!
My whole I have been picking the under dog system. I picked Genesis over super I picked Saturn over the station. I picked dream cast over PS2 but quickly grab an xbox OG then I picked 360 over 3 and of course xbox 1 elite and now xbox series x over 4 and 5… but Ill tell you.. the first time I have seen an OG xbox I went to this girls house that was throwing a party. I was prob 8th or 9th grade?? Lol this was before I knew about hard drives… I remember the whole night she was playing song after song after song and never changed the cd??? I was like how are you doing that lol because back in my day you play a cd you have to eventually get up and put a different on it 😂 she said her hard drive in her xbox…… 🤯 I was hooked from there on out ❤
I am 49, and I grew up during the 16-BIT console wars. You had the diehards for their favorite system, but I went with the system with genres I enjoyed, like RPGs and platformers. That is where the SNES came in. Don't get me wrong, there are several franchises on the Genesis that I enjoyed and still enjoy to this day. But SEGA lost my following permanently with the Saturn.
I was a Sega guy. Genesis was the best. I also loved Saturn and Dreamcast!

I thought I knew all the Sonic / Michael Jackson trivia, but I didn't know about the shoes! Fun video

Great line @ 3:37 “We're grateful that Sonic never had an intern.”

I constantly wonder what type of world it would be if Sega beat Nintendo and Nintendo went out of business or a much less powerful company
Not being horrible but there is a megadrive and more than the us that the Japanese could appeal to feels like uk if left unknown
