    The filler used was called Renavesse Versa. It's a Hyaluronic Acid filler especially suitable for the under eye area where the skin is thinner and less forgiving. It's also dissolvable should I decide that I don't like it and want to get it removed. Which I wouldn't even THINK about doing becasue I LOVE my results!
    I got 2 syringes total. A half syringe in my left temple, almost a whole syringe in my more concave right temple (more than 3/4's but less than a whole), and the rest was dispersed under my eyes (mainly my right eye.) The total cost was $1250.

    Jenifer, I imagine you are aware of this, however, I just want to make sure you know about arnica. Arnica helps with bruising, swelling and quicker healing. Before procedures of any kind its a good idea to take it a week beforehand. I continue taking it until bruising is gone. Eating fresh pineapple is another thing you can eat each day to help. It must be fresh. Not to alarm you, but it is very risky using fillers beneath your eyes, especially like you describe and with a needle. Your doctor can probably explain it better than I, but the best fillers for that area are best injected with a cannula. There are several things that could go wrong and leave you with lumps, bruising and scarring. Things that cannot be reversed. It is always best to heir on the side of caution and consider cosmetics and skin care that might do the trick. Also, consider these things may not be nearly as noticeable as you might think. I enjoy all you tips and dyi's and thank you for sharing!

    Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I'm 46 and about to have filler in the under eye area this Friday. I'm excited and a little nervous! I appreciate your being open enough to share your experience with us, as well as being transparent about the possibility of bruising. I love that we women have the opportunity and choice to have cosmetic procedures if we want to. It may not be for everyone, but if it's something we want to do, we can. Take care and again, thank you for the great video! ❤️

    • @JeniferJenkinsBeauty
      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Omg, how exciting!! I agree 100%! I'm so glad that we live in a day and age where these things are available to us. When I got my first injections to camouflage my under eye puffiness in March of 2016, it was literally a GAME CHANGER! My undereye puffiness made me feel so depressed because I felt like what I saw in the mirror didn't match how I felt on the inside. I felt like the puffiness made me look tired, or angry, or even sad. 😞 Just a piece of advice though. Even though you are unhappy with your undereye area, getting it filled does take a little getting used to. Try not to make any harsh judgements about it until at least 2 weeks. That's when every thing settles in and really begins to look nice. And if you get swelling, which I'm sure you will, especially because it's your first time, don't panic. That's just the hyaluronic acid doing what it's supposed to do, which is pull water to itself. But like I said in the video, the filler and your body tissue/fluid will find a balance and everything will smooth itself out. However, some people don't bruise or swell at all. Hope that's you and I hope you LOVE your results!!! ❤🌺

    Hi Jenifer, filler in the temples can be so painful. Your fillers actually looks very symmetrical (on both sides), maintaining youthfulness without looking overly plumped!

      It was definitely painful once the lidocaine wore off, but only for like a day It felt like there was a brick under my skin.😄 Oh good, I'm glad you think the filler looks symmetrical. Thank you for posting this video. We all would have wondered about the bruise. I had both my under eyes filled maybe 5 years ago. One side looked great, the other side, my right side, got a droopy water balloon type bag on the side of my outer eye. I was too busy in my working life to go back and have it fixed. I am now too afraid to do it again. I watched a TH-cam dermatologist talk about how dangerous it is to do these under eye fills and how some times it can get very deep behind your eye and can cause bags, that would need delicate surgery to get rid of. I do not known if I should just live with the hollow under eye area or try it again with someone new.BTW, I have a feeling that right handed doctors can't do the right side as easily as the left side of the face.Take care sweetie, and I never noticed your "hollow" temples. I am too busy enjoying your sense of humor and your cute little dances. ;-)

      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much Anita!!! And honestly that makes so much sense about right handed doctors. I never really thought of that! But I’m that way with mascara application. It’s so much easier for me to do my right eye versus my left eye. Lol! Btw, the same exact thing happen to my sister once when she got under eye filler. Like almost immediately she had what looked like an under eye bag in her outer corner. She waited a year or so, when it started to dissolve, and went to someone else who did a much better job. I’m sorry to hear you had that experience. I hope you find a good injector should you decide to do it again. ❤️🥰

    Wow you are so critical of yourself! I get Botox, started when I was about 56 and I’m 65 now but people think I’m in my 50s. Before 55 I never felt the need for Botox. I will continue to get Botox now and I did get filler once about 5 years ago and I did not like it. I’ve seen what filler does to other women faces. Once you start with filler, your face start changing and pretty soon you don’t look like yourself anymore.

      Stop it! This is the problem with women. Everyone needs to find their happy place. What makes Jennifer feel beautiful may not be your thing but not true that filler makes your face change overtime in a negative way just like botox doesn't if it is not overdone.

    Arnica gel is the best and heals bruises in 1/2 the time. Dermablend is supposed to be a great concealor. I watched a video on fat transfer and it's permanent so maybe that's something to think about.

  • @debistanley2791
    @debistanley2791 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    First, I’d like to respectfully compliment your before face look. The hallo temples helps give high cheek bones that chiseled look without having to contour the look in using makeup. The cheekbones and jawline play a huge role for attractive profile pictures. Photography strives for this look you want to eliminate. When those injections wear off, I’d leave it alone. The fix is not worth worrying about the filler moving around that close to the eye. The reason you had trouble finding a doctor has nothing to do with geography and everything to do with the risk of paralysis and stroke. I’m not a doctor or nurse. I’m directly connected to the manufacturer for Juvéderm. My husband works for Abbvie who owns Allergan on the Irvine CA campus where the products are developed. His team manages advertising for Juvéderm to include slide decks for the doctors training. The company has their own doctors training doctors and nurses for safe use of their products. This company’s products are what the others strive to be. I’m not saying you’re doctor used Juvéderm, what I am saying, fillers are not the answer for everything. They’re designed to be injected into specific zones deemed safe. The amount of work by scientists and testing and approval is beyond what the consumer can imagine. The products are so regulated they can’t change one word in their advertising without FDA approval. It’s best for patients to review the list of areas they’re intended for. Manufacturers can’t control what doctors do after purchase. Because doctors are going to put all result responsibility on the patient and the temples don’t have a dermas density depth alike the areas fillers are typically used, rather than filler, consulting a surgeon to install a small prosthetic or harvest something from another part of your body to put there would have been more logical idea to pursue. Others reading this comment, what most doctors will do with fillers is a excellent meter they’re staying within the FDA’s approved use zones where the product has been proven to be safe. The formulas have changed to last longer and move with the face around the mouth. Techniques have changed where a little in a whole face approach produces the most natural results. There’s also such a thing as easily removable Juvéderm formula if you’re unhappy with results, it’s a good place to start. The doctors expertise is the other half of it. Don’t assume a doctor willing to do something outside the manufacturer’s suggested use means they’re better. If you’re outside filler parameters seek a plastic surgeon’s advice. Plastic surgeons going below the dermas having to dodge blood vessels, cut into muscle and bone. They can identify the high risk areas of the face and they’re approach, which may be filler. If they choose filler, they’re surgical skills not Dermotology skills would be the difference.

He said he doesn’t typically do that, but because I wanted to do one temple and one eye first, he went with the under eye filler since the temple filler would have been a bad choice for the under eye area. Thank you! 🌺The last time I got a touch up in my under eye area was this month last year, but I got a teenie tiny bit (less than a half syringe). Prior to that it was 3 yrs since I'd had a touch up in that area. I've never done my temples before so I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'm hoping at least 2 yrs. The first time I got under eye filler was March of 2017, this will be my 3rd touch up. At each touch-up I've gotten less than 1/2 a syringe (once it was just a 1/4 syringe). But girl, it NEVER gets easier! Lol! Everytime I get a touch up I am a nervous wreck! I literally have to remind myself to breath when they're injecting me. But once it's over, I'm on cloud nine!!! Especially once the swelling and bruising goes away. This was my second time having bruised, so I kindof new what to expect. If you do end up getting it done, I hope you love your results as much as I do! 🥰❤

      @JeniferJenkinsBeauty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!🤗 I'm not sure what the best filler is for temples. Since I had decided to do my right temple and right under eye area first, he used whatever filler he typically uses for the under eye area, since that area is less forgiving. But I forgot what he told me that it was called. I think if he had done both of my temples and not my eyes he would have used a thicker filler since he had a large area to fill. But I'm glad he used whatever it was that he used becasue I really like the results. He used 1/2 a syringe in my left temple and almost a full syringe in my right temple. ❤🌺

    Do you sleep on that side? Have you thought about laser or plasma pen around eyes instead and also trying prf filler instead which is when they spin down your blood and use that as a natural filler. I’ve been researching all this a long time. I haven’t tried filler yet because I have some concerns. The other thing you should look into is fat transfer which last a lot longer and hear good things from a friend who has done and wishes she had done early on instead of filler.

      For whatever reason, this year I’ve mainly stuck with glycolic acids. I’m just loving them at the moment! There’s rarely ever any flaking or peeling involved and I feel like I get instant gratification. I’ve only been using retin-a once a month. At the end of every month I just pile on a thick layer of .1% retin-a before bed, get a decent peel a few days later, and then go back to my glycolic acids. ❤️😘

      Awe, thank you so much!!! The physical aspect of aging is no fun, but there are options! Sometimes I wish I didn't care so much, but I do. Lol! Anyway, I think it's important to be transparent about certain things, especially if you're an aging woman on social media, and especially if you're also skincare obessed, like I am. Good skincare can only take you so far, and I don't ever want to mislead anyone into thinking, for instance, that my under eye puffiness disappeared as a result of a good eye cream. He used a filler called Renavesse Versa. It's a Hyaluronic Acid filler so it is dissolvable should I have disliked the results. He said that he doesn't typically use that filler for temples (he usually uses a thicker filler since there's a lot of space to fill) but since I was doing one half of my face at a time, he went with the filler that was better suited for the under eye area, since that area is less forgiving. A thick filler in the under eye area wouldn't be a good idea. In total, to touch up my temples and under eye area, we used 2 syringes and the cost was $1250. ❤🤗

    I have a great plastic surgeon and I have never bruised or had lumps ever and I never have any issues when he injects my temples. My doctor ask what results I want then he tells me what I need to achieve it. I only do fillers every 18 months. I stop taking fish oils or take anything that thins the blood at least a week in advance. He uses different fillers for different areas of my face. I will only have a board certified plastic surgeon inject me. I had a bad experienced with a nurse about 6 years ago. I guess everyone reacts differently.

      I've gone to 3 different injectors now (one of them being a plastic surgeon) and at first the filler always feels like cement or bone under my skin. Is that what it feels like for you too? I had to laugh at your “ peanut head” comment…… I saw an injector last week and told him “ I’m beginning to look like a pin head”. 1 syringe voluma did the trick for both sides…. Hope it lasts awhile as it’s pretty pricey!
