Duke has the best drops of any boss bar moonlord… The flatiron is great till endgame, the tsunami is great fills end game, the razor blade typhoon is great till endgame, the bubblegun if you are good at dodging while in close range is (I think) the highest dps magic damage pre-moonlord And the wings are amazing too, the fight is also very fun… my fav boss

Another neat tip, the truffle worm is considered a critter, so if you have a town, normal enemies will spawn way less, making it safer and spawning the truffle worms more frequently
Flairon was what i used a bunch before 1.3, its INCREDBILY good, especially if you aim a bit away from an enemy and let the bubbles do a ton of additional damage. Super dope
I remember back in early 1.2 console hard mode there was a bug that made this weapon pierce, making it so enemies always get hit with all of the bubbles, it was stupid op and was my favorite weapon for a long time, haven't used it much since, I mostly play ranger now since 1.3 came out on console, but it's nice to hear others talk about this old favorite of mine
My favorite weapon is north pole. I still remember how i used a regen setup put together with north pole to decimate the pumpkin moon standing still and using the best angle for the flakes to hit all the pumpkings :D
Back in 1.2, one of my two favorite load outs was the flairon with beetle scale mail. The bubbles were fun. (My other favorite was razorpine and specter armor)
i agree. it's better not to hit the target. I deliberately miss when i use it. I aim the flairon diagonally just a bit above the boss so that the bubbles all cluster there and then the boss flies through them
look all im sayin is that, if you want duke fishron drops to 1 shot an enemy, get tsunami or flairon if you want to oneshot a room full of those enemys, razorblade typhoon
I love Fishron weapons, I love homing weapons, and I think the way multi-projectile weapons apply vs. different amounts of enemies is super interesting. The fact you can also hit them with the weapon itself for extra dmg also makes it even more expressive to use, I can easily see why it may be people's favorite.
My favorite weapon has to be the Storm Spear. It's a pre-boss projectile melee weapon that at the same time still keeps the melee feel, since the projectiles dissipate relatively quickly. Would like to have it covered as I feel it is a very underrated option pre-boss, especially since melee in general is very weak during that stage.
Agree I have to use end pre hardmode gear and weapon to take skeletron down While use mid pre hard mode weapon to take skeletron down as a mage or a summoner or a ranger
I love the fact that although you repeat alot of the same things when it comes to summoning and obtaining items. Some people might not know how to. Keep up with the amazing advice.
This is definitely my favorite weapon too, I remember this being my go-to weapon on the 3ds version of the game where, in terms of updates, it was a mixture between 1.2 and 1.2.4. The scourge of the corruptor is probably second for me. Also an idea for a video for after 1.4.5 releases is to make a video[s] about the weapons that were changed in the update, the Flairon being one of the weapons that was revealed to be changed, of course.
another thing i like about this weapon is if you throw it in any direction and then go towards the flair as it's going forward you'll get tons of bubbles!
In my first play through where I actually made it to hardmode, this was one of my favorite weapons. It took so many Duke Fishron kills to get it, it being the last weapon I got. But after I got it I loved using it. It made Duke Fishron way easier and made dealing with the Ice Queens in the Frost Moon actually feel quick and possible
The tsunami is my personally favorite, paired with a ton of chlorophyte arrows it absolutely destroyed just about anything, and the fact that it shoots 5 arrows at once means that holy arrows work even better on destroyer than Daedolus does
I have always been a huge fan of Flails in Terraria, Flairon is no exception. This weapon slaps. Mind you, all of Duke's drops are good, and I love how they let you try and face him so much sooner than what should be recommended.
I played master mode recently with Flairon, and compared to other melee weapons, its dps is pretty bad if you get it post-golem, personally in post-golem I always either go for the evil biome chest or solar pillar
In 1.2.4, this was probably the most powerful melee weapon in the game and by far the best choice for the Moon Events. The Frost Moon was basically the end game back then and only the North Pole fired vertically could outdamage the Flairon.
back in 1.2 this weapon was an absolute zenith, since we did not have lunar events, the pumpkin and frost moon were extremely hard, but with the flairon you could completely wreck them
my favorite fishron drop is the razorblade typhoon. I can usually defeat fishron after I get hallowed armor from the twins (my first mech boss) so the piercing that deals with the destroyer and the homing that helps with the empress, skeletron prime, and plantera's first phase is great. Plus it makes farming more fishrons easier if you want wings or money.
I remember growing up and watching PythonGB using it for the first time and it immediately became my favorite weapon and I would always grind for it once I was at the point that I was equipped to fight it on mobile
Yeah. When I played in 1.2.3, I adored this weapons so much that I would spend hours trying to beat Duke Fishron. And I still love it today - in fact I made my own modded flail like the Flairon!
Before whips were introduced, I decided to fight Duke Fishron, when I got it, I used it along with summons in my one classic playthrough, and it has been my favorite ever since.
My favourite is the laser machinegun and the heat wave. The heat wave is so easy to aim and has so much dps its a miracle that people don't use it. And the laser machinegun is simply just satisfying. Really satisfying.
there used to be a glitch in 1.3 on ps4 where you could make the vortex beater shoot the projectiles of other weapons, it was also possible with the phantasm after the patch of the vortex beater glitch (1.3.1) but i think it could only shoot stardust dragon parts and it was a lot slower
I remember in xbox 360 1.2.4's earliest days I had a character with a flairon and a high crit build and did 200-250 per bubble 80% of the time good times
Back before the mushroom biomes got reworked, the truffle worm was very rare. The new biome has a lot of flat open space and makes it easier for the truffle to spawn and be caught.
Heck yeah! I fell in love with this thing the first time I beat duke pre mech. I used the scaly truffle to beat him cuz I couldn't bother to grind for wings. 😅 Not only is the popping sound satisfying but hearing an enemy get hit a bunch of times within a second is also very satisfying.
Flails in general are really underrated. One of the best early-hardmode weapons in my opinion is the Dao of Pow, when combined with accessories such as power glove it can deal insane knockback and damage alongside the confusion effect it inflicts. Also it's really easy to make only requiring 7 souls of light and night and 1 dark and light shard.
I'd like to see videos on the other Duke weapons. Like "is the razor blade typhoon still worth using?" Or "razor blade typhoon vs bubble gum" or talking about the tempest staff and seeing if it's still good compared to other summoner weapons
I remember how I messed with game files on my mobile terraria, so I can have terrarian texture on the flatiron. And I beat the game with it many times. Good weapon.
Back in 1.2 this was my absolute favorite weapon. If I had to choose a favorite now it’d probably be the Celebration Mk 2, but this thing is definitely still up there
its hands down the best weapon in oldgen, not to mention when making custom weapons via some mod, its the projectile to look out for, a phantasm that shoots flairons is nothing short of terrifying
When if first started terraria on my phone with my primary school mates during 1.2 or so, the flair on shot a lot more bubbles than it does now, and had busted high dps, and I’m pretty sure not many people new of it, seeing as many people went straight for ocram in the old days of pocket edition.
My recommendation for Summoners to beat Duke Fishron early: You can get the Sangrine Staff before fighting Duke if you fish for a Dreadnautilus in the ocean during a blood moon. With the proper preparation (a solid box you can hide in a fair distance above the water with a Heart Latern, a camp fire & a pool of honey to stand in) the Dreadnautilus is actually easy, especially if you got buffs like Regenation, Ironskin, Wrath, Endurance, etc. Potions. The best summons at this point will probably either be Abigail (who scales to Hardmode) or the Spider Staff if you feel like putting up a huge amount of background walls they can crawl on. Might need healing potions on Master Mode, but other than that, the mini boss is still cheesable. & hopefully you got the Firecracker from the Wall of Flesh. The recommended armor is the Obsidian armor. Despite having lower defenses than the Hardmode Summoner armors, it's still better simply due to the major whips buffs. (I ended up preferring the Obsidian set to most Hardmode Summoner armors, only replacing it with the Spooky Wood armor.) So yeah, you'll need to practice your dodging skills, but the combination of the Sangrine Staff, the Firecracker & the Obsidian Armor will give very consistent DPS throughout the whole fight. With a bit of practice, you can beat Duke Fishron handily. & if Duke doesn't drop the Summoner weapon... You can always change classes! (Unless you're doing a Summon only run.) Oh, one more thing: Use the Sonar Potions when fishing for Dreadnautilus! You do NOT want to fish up a Blood Eel! Another thing I almost forgot to mention is that the mount from Queen Slime can be very helpful, just make an ocean arena with multiple LONG lines of platforms. I would go for 3 levels at least.
My favorite is enchanted boomerang. Because, getting it is so easy and has good amount of dps(when enemy is close) and range. Until you get a good weapon it will be enough to protect you at most cases (not sure about master mode tho)
I love this weapon as well, it just feels like it gets outclassed by other weapons way faster than his other drops do. I always try to fight him pre-mechs recently just so that it remains relevant for a decent amount of time
I absolutely love this weapon it's very good on both single targets and groups and the dps is amazing when used in a big group and probably one of the best early hardmode weapon for melee
i LOOOVED this weapon back when i played 1.2 on mobile. It was KING i remember combining it with the terra blade, and shredding Ocram with a few friends.
My favorite is a very unpopular opinion, but the venom staff is a weapon I like that I see as heavily underrated. It does good DPS, inflicts venom, and pierces multiple targets which is good against duke. I'd like to see you do a video behind this weapon
@@UncleHornieAUS Iirc the Venom Staff used to not even pierce in the past, I think this one got some buffs over time so might be worth checking out for Sockr!
oOoOO good one. This weapon is so underrated and I really agree. My favorite is the crystal serpent. It's easy to get, looks REALLY good, good damage that can take you/skip to Duke AND it's magic damage.
I found out that if truffle worms spawn in deep enough water they will not burrow away. hence not needing a invisibility potion. i usually use water buckets but i have the bottomless water bucket to make it easy to farm.
gotta say, love this weapon, and is very fun to use on a minecart circle to make it spew bubbles for a very long time. Unfortunately to me it feels like it's tied with the bubble gun for being the third best duke weapon, only beating the sharknado which is likely worse that whatever summoner weapon you use to get it.
Can we talk about the toxikarp? It's honestly a pretty fun weapon by itself and absolutely melts biome mimics without the risk of projectile reflection. The debuff is also a nice added plus. I realize it struggles with crowds but still I feel it's way too underrated.
I did my first melee playthrough recently and beat fishron pre plantera and i used this all the way up to the pillars this is on of the weapons that seem bad on paper but once you actually use it you see how good it is
This is also probably my favorite weapon, next to weapons like the Vampire Knives Another thing about Lunatic Cultist though is that it takes 75% from most homing attacks, which includes the Flairon bubbles
The truffle worm it's funny, because it doesn't just go underground, it literally flies away, if you have no blocks under the block the truffleworm is standing on it literally flies away underground (with a special animation even), meaning that it should be technically possible to catch it. I say that because in mobile you can see when a monster is considered targetable, for example, when a biome mimic closes and reflects projectiles it's not considerable targetable (as seen by a cursor staying on top of the biome mimic until he becomes invulnerable) but the truffle worm still has the entity cursor on top of it, meaning you can catch the truffleworm mid-air, alas the decoration item "truffleworm in a glass" Has the caption: "It won't be escaping now" But that's just a theory
Hands up! Who else adores this weapon?
*puts hand up*

The best summons at this point will probably either be Abigail (who scales to Hardmode) or the Spider Staff if you feel like putting up a huge amount of background walls they can crawl on.
Might need healing potions on Master Mode, but other than that, the mini boss is still cheesable.
& hopefully you got the Firecracker from the Wall of Flesh.
The recommended armor is the Obsidian armor.
Despite having lower defenses than the Hardmode Summoner armors, it's still better simply due to the major whips buffs.
(I ended up preferring the Obsidian set to most Hardmode Summoner armors, only replacing it with the Spooky Wood armor.)
So yeah, you'll need to practice your dodging skills, but the combination of the Sangrine Staff, the Firecracker & the Obsidian Armor will give very consistent DPS throughout the whole fight.
With a bit of practice, you can beat Duke Fishron handily.
& if Duke doesn't drop the Summoner weapon... You can always change classes! (Unless you're doing a Summon only run.)
Oh, one more thing:
Use the Sonar Potions when fishing for Dreadnautilus!
You do NOT want to fish up a Blood Eel!
Another thing I almost forgot to mention is that the mount from Queen Slime can be very helpful, just make an ocean arena with multiple LONG lines of platforms.
I would go for 3 levels at least.
Duke, terraria Duke fishron, apparently he got the best of the drops
My favorite is enchanted boomerang. Because, getting it is so easy and has good amount of dps(when enemy is close) and range. Until you get a good weapon it will be enough to protect you at most cases (not sure about master mode tho)
I love Onyx Blaster. Its gun that carried me through hard mode until Lunatic Cultist and you can obtine it as soon as you start hard mode
Flairon was and still is my favorite weapon, I love the fact that it can shoot homing bubbles
This feels like trying to get to the ocean with regular fishing rod to get a Reaver Shark before it was nerfed.
I love this weapon as well, it just feels like it gets outclassed by other weapons way faster than his other drops do. I always try to fight him pre-mechs recently just so that it remains relevant for a decent amount of time
"all of dukes drops are incredibly solid"
bubble gun:
If I remember it correctly the flairon also is even better underwater since it's slower to reach his peak you'll summon even more bubbles
I absolutely love this weapon it's very good on both single targets and groups and the dps is amazing when used in a big group and probably one of the best early hardmode weapon for melee
I love this weapon because it's so useful not on bosses as well. No need to deal with annoying enemies when you can just spam bubbles
Fetid banghangs is definitely one of my favorite weapons. It can bassically ship progression
i LOOOVED this weapon back when i played 1.2 on mobile. It was KING
i remember combining it with the terra blade, and shredding Ocram with a few friends.
My favorite is a very unpopular opinion, but the venom staff is a weapon I like that I see as heavily underrated. It does good DPS, inflicts venom, and pierces multiple targets which is good against duke. I'd like to see you do a video behind this weapon
Iirc I used that against Plantera once, and absolutely destroyed it
@@Gnurklesquimp with the I-frames change in 1.4.4 it might actually be even better now
@@UncleHornieAUS Iirc the Venom Staff used to not even pierce in the past, I think this one got some buffs over time so might be worth checking out for Sockr!
oOoOO good one. This weapon is so underrated and I really agree.
My favorite is the crystal serpent. It's easy to get, looks REALLY good, good damage that can take you/skip to Duke AND it's magic damage.
The Flairon allowed me to beat the Cultist, while I can’t say it’s my favorite, it’s definitely something I love
Hey, it's one of my favourite weapons as well. Love the SFX and the visuals
I’ve not got to use the Flairon yet, but now I can’t wait!
Why would you use scourge of the corruptor when the death sickle is arguably way better, especially for the invisible dashing phase?
it homes which is good since you gotta be focused on dodging
Scourge is homing, and it was way higher dps
I found out that if truffle worms spawn in deep enough water they will not burrow away. hence not needing a invisibility potion. i usually use water buckets but i have the bottomless water bucket to make it easy to farm.
gotta say, love this weapon, and is very fun to use on a minecart circle to make it spew bubbles for a very long time. Unfortunately to me it feels like it's tied with the bubble gun for being the third best duke weapon, only beating the sharknado which is likely worse that whatever summoner weapon you use to get it.
Me own favorite weapon is the laser machinegun, something about it is so cool to use, even its upgrades in Calamity are fun
Can we talk about the toxikarp? It's honestly a pretty fun weapon by itself and absolutely melts biome mimics without the risk of projectile reflection. The debuff is also a nice added plus. I realize it struggles with crowds but still I feel it's way too underrated.
tsunami with clorophyte arrows destroys plantera in a tiny room
I did my first melee playthrough recently and beat fishron pre plantera and i used this all the way up to the pillars this is on of the weapons that seem bad on paper but once you actually use it you see how good it is
i wanted to see the super fast version of it at the end of the video like you do for all the others D:
flairon is the weapon i used to beat my first daytime empress... you don't even need post-golem gear for her
This is also probably my favorite weapon, next to weapons like the Vampire Knives
Another thing about Lunatic Cultist though is that it takes 75% from most homing attacks, which includes the Flairon bubbles
The truffle worm it's funny, because it doesn't just go underground, it literally flies away, if you have no blocks under the block the truffleworm is standing on it literally flies away underground (with a special animation even), meaning that it should be technically possible to catch it.
I say that because in mobile you can see when a monster is considered targetable, for example, when a biome mimic closes and reflects projectiles it's not considerable targetable (as seen by a cursor staying on top of the biome mimic until he becomes invulnerable) but the truffle worm still has the entity cursor on top of it, meaning you can catch the truffleworm mid-air, alas the decoration item "truffleworm in a glass" Has the caption:
"It won't be escaping now"
But that's just a theory
