Q: What is Transmutation?
A: Transmutation is a set of glitches discovered back in 2022 which fundamentally break Terraria. With Transmutation, you can obtain any item in the game (Including some un-implemented items), beat Terraria in under 7 minutes, and obtain infinite speed, just to name a few.
Also, I apologize if the audio is at-all weird during this. I choose to blame Windows for my sound problems.

The door knows where it is because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses Black Holes to generate corrective commands to drive the door from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn’t, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn’t.
isnt the whole reason the glitch exists because the door does NOT know where it is?

at first I was wondering if the chest poofed because the blocks under it broke but once he cut the chest in half, there's definitely no blocks it cant break. (which makes sense as its not doing a check for what block is there as it assumes its breaking a door)

When I saw the sloped conveyor belts, I thought this used hoiks somehow. But of course, it was much more cursed.
Imagine in real life, someone discovers a way to make an ultimate drill using fire, conveyors, and ancient Egyptian artifacts, with the side effect that the drilled material spontaneously rearranges itself into doors...

This glitch might just be the most powerful in any video game, and if not, it's certainly the most powerful glitch in a game that I'm aware of.
Ehh, don't forget some Mario/Zelda games where you can write your own code into the game.

Which glitches are you aware if, in general? I don‘t want to say this glitch isn‘t powerful, but it doesn’t come close to other glitches I have to think about when someone says "powerful glitch".

Out of all the Transmutation variations, this is the one I'm most amazed I figured out.
The setup is so specific that I actually lost the Bore Drill tech for a few months, because I'd forgotten to document it, and had to re-discover it.

I do have a couple of nitpicks :
Concerning the campfire's fuel, having 3 conveyor belts is unnecessary, simply having one on the fuel tile is enough, and it doesn't need to be hammered.
and you can use grates the same way as conveyor belts for a pre hm alternative.
And concerning the black hole itself, it's not the breaking of doors that deletes the tiles (this part actually loops, and only breaks tiles right below the black hole when it's not the black hole itself) but the closing of the door, hence why it happens when it's activated via a wire signal

I'll use the more efficient conveyor belt setup for the tiled versions.
And, that makes complete sense- Closing the door causes it to check where it should be, and if it's invalid it triggers a break.

So... this guy created a philosopher's stone to trasmute literally anything into existance, and now he made a black hole to remove blocks from existance in a single blink of an eye. Transmutation is the gift that keeps on giving.
There are also ways to perfrom this without any wires, making it possible pre-boss, but naturally it's less automated.

Honestly it's pretty crazy, there have always been glitch hunters in terraria over the years, like the old chest dupe and such, but never before have I ever seen one person just crack a game wide open like this until now

I can confirm that it works on switch. The only weird thing is that when doing the campfire gitch rather than being invisible the top half of the campfire will randomly shift between many diferent sprites

I think the reason for the different sprites is that Console is more compact, file-wise, than PC is, so it's basically bleeding over into different sprites, wherein on PC there's just empty space.

For a long time I was trying to figure out how to do multi-tile entities in my own tile-based game. This sounds like a perfectly reasonable and definitely not exploitable way to do it yes, I think I'll do this.

Gemspark Blocks works also as infinite CGO fuel as well as Conveyor Belts, they light up when positive-facing and quench when negative-facing, and there is no need to hammer them!

Have you done anything more with the fireworks? Can't you summon basically any projectiles using them?
I’ve looped back to them here and there, but I’ve yet to find a super-useful application for the tech, because they’re guaranteed to break when activated. (So it’s cumbersome to summon large amounts of projectiles).
Though, I’ll probably still make a short video showcasing it anyways, to see if I can get community help with figuring out the best use case.

The amount of QoL that this has is actually kinda insane. Like duping chests may not sound like much but it means you can get a bunch of gold chests without doing a billion pirate invasions or get a post plantera weapon in pre HM.

Tried this because I didn't feel like doing it the hard way, worked great! Really easy to set up too. Some things of note:
1) My bore drill required ~20 sandstone lamps. I may have been resetting it wrong, they converted into tiki torches and cactus lamps. Be warned!
2) If you have places torched on the way down the doors that spawn when you hug a wall will erase your torches 😢

It is the one where a combination of wood, wherein the variant of the wood must be the regular wood from the best-selling game Terraria, mixed with torches (created by combining regular wood and gel from one of many different gelatinous enemies), is crafted together to create a burning wood pile used commonly for camping or recreational gatherings, wherein this burning wood pile is glitched through the use of an old cat statue, causing anomalous behavior. @@Eye-vp5de

@@EthyrielY oh, I thought you meant the situation where the oxidizing in a exothermic way organics harvested manually from dead vascular plants is simulated in a perfectly correct and realistic way which in no way involves any inconsistencies with the universe you call reality in a sandbox game called terrorism (or something like this, I'm minecraft fan).
This is awesome, but one thing I was hoping to learn (not sure if I missed it or if it wasn't explained) is WHY the black hole is moving downwards, rather than upwards or any other direction or staying still.
From what I understand, it moves downwards due to how the game interprets changes in FrameY framedata. FrameY corresponds to a vertical change in the spritesheet, and doors in particular use this data for both what item to drop and the position the game _thinks_ the door is at. FrameX is not used for the drop position, though- otherwise going horizontally would be possible, which would be neat.

why bast statue needs to look specifically to the right
(and now about my possible understanding, is that cuz left facing bast statue is different sprite in the sprite sheet, or cuz its normal sprite but flipped which causes some jank which results in philosophers stone not working)
Precisely that! The two Bast statue variants (left and right facing) are on the same spritesheet, arranged horizontally.
You -can- transmute with a left-facing Bast- it's just harder to setup than a right-facing bast, and they're functionally the same.
So, right-facing Basts are standard.
