Freddie your channel helped get me back on a bike. Picked up a 2015 Sportster Superlow 1200T from original owner with 1,100 miles on the clock. Here in the USA the Sportster is still looked down on by the big Ego riders. I only paid half the original MSRP
Sportsters are cheap as chips in the States!
Those new Thunderbird-style tank badges are even better than the "mouth organ" type you had originally planned to fit. The horizontal chrome lines match perfectly with the polished head fins and the detailing on the side panels 👍
People are going away from Tec on Bikes, Rider's today like a simple riding Experience . We have a world full of electronics and it's nice to just Get on a simple bike and Ride. Well i do anyway.

Ive always riden a Bike without.....Infotainment...ABS....Stereo...Riding Modes...RDRS...For the last 46 years of riding Street Bikes....And i dont see myself EVER wanting to Buy or Own One....I think all those things take away from the whole experience Riding Motorcycles for Me....Now if my Skills diminish because of Sickness or because of something else?....God Forbid...I can see getting one with ABS and RDRS...
Danny has plenty of room with those panniers. Maybe a purchase of some waterproofs would be on his shopping list 😅 the poor guy looked so uncomfortable walking across the carpark 😂. I miss Monica and her banter with you Freddie, and pulling you into line when you start looking at Harleys and talking about dream bikes😅

Triumph Bonneville every time! I traded my HD Slim for a Triumph Speedmaster and never regretted the decision.
The Bonnie is a better bike than any Harley.

Hi Freddie, the Triumph looks absolutely amazing.
I like the style of these bikes and hired an electraglide during a holiday to the states many years ago, and although slightly daunted by the sheer size of the beast it rode well. I loved the mechanical 'ness' of it's engine an gearbox, but could not get on with the vibrations. I ended up with a kidney stone after riding it and a few days and was vomiting in wallmart, ending up in hospital in severe pain. (Of course I dont blaime the bike, but thoses vibrations!!!) Thank you for the tour Freddie!

The HD Sport Glide is gorgeous, and a fantastic cruiser tourer for all paved roads. Test rode one and fell in love.
I bought my first motorcycle from this dealership. A 1200 Sportster circa 1992. Buy some waterproofs Danny! I’d recommend the Scott. Best in class.

It’s interesting that the Sport Glide is the best selling Harley; it’s our least favourite of the Softail lineup. Also, whenever we make a Harley video, it’s now less successful than it would have been a few years ago.

There's two reasons the brand is dieing. It's because the general public hates Harley's, they're instantly associated with dickheads that run straight through pipes and rev the shit out of them at inappropriate times. And even worse, they're associated with Trump voters.
The Harley hate is so tacky. I just put 400 miles on my Duc Scrambler today and had all sorts of Harley riders wave at me.
I’ll be trading in my scrambler for a cruiser this season, I need a bike that can do 80mph and not get blown around on the highway.
Harleys are best simplest bikes, like riding a jewel. And Harley riders are non toxic humblest bunch. The hate is on the outside. Harley riders are reserved, keep to themselves, yet they are hated upon by others who consider themselves the sensible and want to force their "sense" on the harley community. The Harley hate is toxic because some don't understand and feel the harley charm and it unconsciously makes them feel inferior. I can't afford one, yet I understand the charm of a harley. In essence, you need a very poetic soul to be able to vibe a harley. And most people today are "practical". Thing with practicality is, it doesn't gel well with motorcycling in general. A car is practical, not a bike. So motorcyclists bickering about practicality is just like an oxymoron. Bike should be an emotion, and harleys are the best of that.

Interesting video, as a long term H-D owner myself I am now on my fourth UK Harley dealership with the previous three all closing down, two closed down after they were bought out by car dealerships ( car people don't understand bikers) the third dealer went in to receivership, HD dealers closing down seems to be a very British disease !! As for Guildford HD, it's a great dealership, really friendly, I always make a point of visiting it when I'm down south.
I was in the market for a new bike back in 2005. I went to the local dealer ( now closed), with a view to buying a Sportster 1200 Custom. The staff were very friendly, but tried to convince me that I needed a bigger bike than the 1200 as my previous bike had been a Star 1100. Also, they advised budgeting for a Stage 1, at least, if I did go for the 1200, as without this it would be lacking in power. I decided against the Harley and went to a Triumph dealer instead and bought a Speedmaster 865.

20:11 Freddie, you didn't mention the asking price, but if indeed that 2018 Sportster is on sale for the same amount that it was launched in 2018, it actually depreciated about 20%. If it was sold in 2018 for £12000, it would have to be sold for £15000 to retain the same value due to inflation, that is if I used the BoE inflation calculator correctly. 20% is still not bad and I'll never sell mine ever, even if it one of the least popular Sportsters😄

So is the implication that riders in the South East of England have more money than sense?
The thing, for me, with all the talk of Stage 1,2,3,etc kits, is that it feels like Harley deliberately sell you 70% of a motorcycle, so the dealers can make the mark up getting it to perform the way it should have done out of the factory.

Do it sell everything house car wide donate kids to medical science you wont regret it a bit , awesome out of the box with something like a CR 483 cam from APE/CycleRama and a performance 2-1 pipe 130bhp + is achievable which is more than my old Fireblade had , the ST is the best bike ive owned by far

Freddie, do yourself a favour and go and visit Sykes Harley Davidson in Holmes Hill, Nr Lewes BN8 6JA. It's awesome and they really understand customer service. I live in the Reading area and when me & my Son & Son in Law were looking for new bikes no one could match there deals. I am happy to travel the 75 miles to visit Sykes to buy from them and for servicing, they really take the HD dealership to a different level & always look to build long lasting relationships with their customers. You will also find a massive selection of pre owned bikes like no other dealership you have ever visited. Go on a Saturday as they make a day of it and the burger van just make the best burgers. Trust me you will not be disappointed, I have visited the Guildford HD and it's not on the same scale as Sykes. Have a day out and enjoy the Sykes experience. I have absolutely no connection with them except I have been a customer for the last 4 years and as a family we have bought 6 bikes from them in that time.

Think this is the first time I've skipped along your vlog Freddie, I appreciate that H/D may appeal to some viewers on here but personally they do very little for me but that doesn't stop me wandering around M&P H/D Swansea whenever I visit their site and looking at the bikes in general.

Recently brought a Fat Bob from Oxford HD, very happy with the bike and the dealer.
Chelsea & Guildford are two areas that benefit heavily from the money being made in financial services in the City of London. Possibly the last bastions of unlimited disposable income. That's why those two Harley dealers are still thriving. Everyone else is feeling the cost of living pinch.
Glasgow (west coast Harley) is also doing amazing and is an even bigger and better dealership than Guildford. Glasgow isn't exactly the finance capital of the world....how do you explain that one.
Some dealerships are just managed better than others.
I didn't realise Guildford was in the same class as Chelsea for income.

You should go and visit Netherton cottage in Angus,Scotland.Its the old Davidson home in Scotland before they went to the USA.Its a place of pilgrimage for all Harley Davidson owners.

I wouldn't buy a bike from Laguna. I bought a Speed Triple RS from them with only 1,200 miles on the clock and I have had nothing but problems with it. Their customer service is awful, truly awful!
2011 Street glide owner, fully chromed. I also have a Hypermotard, but my 2010 Thruxton is my favorite.

This was my local dealer and I bought my bike new from them in 2011. Twelve years I had the bike, and it was the general attitude of this dealer during that time, that helped me decide to walk away from the brand forever...! Nuff said !
Can't say I've ever got Harvey's I've never bought one, I've never ridden one so perhaps I'm just biased and i can't see me ever wanting one. My loss, perhaps, but each to their own.

I love the T100 and use it as my daily driver. However, when it comes to appearance, the HD is truly beautiful. Of course, that's just a matter of personal taste.
HD is about creating a lot of value for shareholders.
And in the end, isn't that why we're into motorcycles to begin with? ❤

You should have a look at Sykes’s Harley in Sussex near Eastbourne. Very very good.
Went to Probike in here in Stockholm. Probably going to replace my indian scout with a Fat boy or Street/Road glide. The Road glide especially made a very good impression on me.

Freddie, you have to come to some sort of arrangement with Joe that he continues to service your Bonneville, if only to safeguard it's future by keeping it in fine fettle and not letting it fall into the desperate condition again that led you to taking it to him to fix and make pretty much new again. I think you owe it to him.
I know the exact spot your standing in I live 10 minutes from there. If you’re looking for any Harley Davidson stuff or work I’d suggest Poulson creative in maldon. I road tested a sport glide from Poulson when they hosted a HD road show in spring.

Lovely bikes but they haven't learnt that they aren't worth the price, case in point with Danny who has done the stage one mod which should be done as standard as with a lot of other mods. A new Harley is a kit bike, a template for you as an individual to make it your own, which is great, I've had two, but this should be represented in the price, as most mods done are to bring the engine up to spec, the brakes and luggage. Anyway great video and good to see you on your triumph Freddie.
My local Harley dealership was Warrs Harley Davidson in Mottingham which closed last year 😢
According to the How Many Left website as of the end of 2023 there were a total of 82 H-D LiveWires registered with a further 19 rebranded LiveWires registered in 2023. So that’s why you don’t see many around 🇬🇧
That was the Covid days 2019- 2022. Everything slumped except toilet paper.
Don’t forget Maidstone Harley Davidson is closer to you than Guildford (and right next door to a brand new Triumph dealer)

Oof. Riding in the rain can be fun but not without rain gear. Those soggy jeans did not look pleasant when you guys arrived. Even if you wash in some nice Nikwax rainproofing, you can't really proof cotton but you can make it somewhat repellent to extend the time before it soaks in.
Thurrock Retail Park seems an odd place to start a ride to Guildford...I guess you had your reasons....I live local, and used to go and gawp at the bikes occasionally at the HD dealership....now sadly gone....

Harley Davidson is a soulless enterprise that has figured out every angle to get your money. I went to a dealership in Washington State to trade in my 2006 Fat Boy with 20,000 miles. It was garaged and in great shape with a $400.00 tuner, new battery, and tires. It was in great running order. This dealer offered me $350.00 dollars. It was more than insulting. They are vultures. I sold the bike to a non-Harley dealer a week later for $4,000 dollars. I will never buy another Harley.

i like harleys,but they are way too small for tall guys,im 6foot,sat on few harleys felt cramped and they do feel small,found myself best on old,reliable and yet powerfull honda vtx1800:)

A visit to a Harley dealership is a feast for the eyes and soul. Sadly, few people can afford them. Is it coincidence that the drop in sales coincides with Brexit, after which most people have had less disposable income? Or has the drop been similar globally since 2019?

Great bike with full Ohlins front and rear 2’ more ride height stage 2 then when you have spent £££££ on it you can change it for a Pan America which does it 100% better for far less

Another fing, I have toured (owned) road kings and several Streetglides, superb motorcycles, but their touring capability and comfort fades behind that of a BMW K1600 or even a GSA 1250- and looks are subjective after all. Ride safe.

Im amazed how "cheap" Harleys are in the UK compared to here in Norway. Street glide costs 17k gbp in the UK and here it starts at over 27k gbp....

@@charliebaker3389 Yeah m8. My company used to buy equipment and wares for millions from the UK but after brexit we had to move our buissness to within EU due to tolls and excessive extra paperwork. I just cant see how it will benefit the public in the UK at all.

I agree that Harley-davidson dealerships are going. as I ordered parts from Chester harley davidson totalling nearly 300 pounds, and they went into receivership along with a few others under the same ownership. Never received my parts, and I am still waiting to see if I get any money returned to me.
I had to look elsewhere for the parts I needed.
And I have paid twice for the parts now. I know I am not alone, but I feel along with others. Harley-davidson has treated us badly.
Freddie, side by side, your Bonneville looked so much better than the overweight and overdressed HD’s. They just look so out of place on typical UK and European roads and seem to be all about ‘show’ rather than ‘go’.
Harleys always have that air about them. Sad they are struggling but there are always people who will buy harleys. Harley riders are very loyal to the brand. It's a unique brand.
