Love that story about the kind Bonneville rider checking on you when you were a new rider! It's one of the things that makes biking feel so magnetic - the community is, pretty across the board, so welcoming and stoked to see new riders. It's a completely different story in a car!
First time on a duel carriage way as a learner rider. This biking stuff is sensational. Thank you Freddie for the uploads, I'm grateful to have found your channel ❤

Great to hear your enthusiasm for the Fat Bob shine through, it's a breath of fresh air to hear a UK motorcycle vlogger being so positive about a Harley, hopefully the haters out there won't be giving you grief for daring to enjoy riding 1900 cc of American iron. Hi Freddie. I very pleased to inform you Southampton and District Motorcycle Club is still in existence. We have a clubhouse in Eastleigh and are celebrating our 80th year this year!!
Another wonderful video Freddie. The story about that kind Bonneville biker rang very true for me! I'm also a new rider (been riding about a month) and the first time I had to filter through traffic scared me. I was going maybe 30km/h between traffic and I saw this fella on a (can't really remember the model) BMW ADV bike behind me and he just raised his hand at me and signaled for me to blast on at my own pace. It was a very assuring gesture. Just wanted to tell you, your video on the Kawasaki Z650RS is what sold me on that bike. It is now my daily rider when I go to work!
Aww Freddie..."Thruxton" I moved my Dad 8yrs ago from his lovely bungalow of 25yrs ,to Staffordshire due to his health...he misses Thruxton Village life 😢
Talking about progress in riding skills reminds me of a comment I saw online a few years ago. The guy said he knows he is a better rider than previously because he has fewer "close calls." I think that is brilliant; new riders are always having close calls and experienced riders rarely have them. It's a nice measure.
I'll blame it on you Freddie when I go out and buy a bike after 50 years of not having one! Your vids remind me of how much fun I used to have on my bikes and the sense of adventure they used to create.
I just finished a 11 day trip to South Australia from Victoria, 4000km return on my Moto Guzzi V85tt . Took it through twistie roads , long straight “ nothing “ dirt roads and even desert 🌵. It was parked up with my camping ⛺️ gear and other required gear. It’s also has a USB in dash “ and under seat “ the Guzzi went like a dream 👍
Great video as always thanks Freddie 😊 I think you'll find that Velocette beat Triumph to the Thruxton name by many decades! Also with a genuine claim, in that the Velocette won first in class at the Thruxton track back in 1964, and are now very valuable collectors machines. Keep up the good work!
Used to love my London to Cornwall trips to see family. Weren't many speed cameras back then! And yes, Dartmoor was normally freezing in the winter. Literally. Got heated grips after my first Christmas trip - and on every bike since.
Just watched your vid, now about to go out on my Himalayan around the North Pennines Cumbria on a sunny day with clear blue skies. I used to live in Hampshire 18months ago, don't miss it. Have a good trip.
Ahh Freddie memories I remember Thruxton well I had my first job working for a building firm called Dunnings and they had a small development in Thruxton in 1970/1,I was 15 fresh out of school and working on this site and all day long you could see riders from the Norton factory going up the bypass as it was then to the circuit testing bikes and back to the factory I got my first pay packet of £8 back then wow so many years ago . Harley Fat Bob very very nice 👌👍
Brilliant story of you just after you passed your bike test and the more experienced guy just checking you was okay and letting you know you can breathe. We’ve all been there Freddie 👍
Freddy, return trip from Cornwall. You need to head over Dartmoor you are missing out on spectacular scenery. From Plymouth head up to yelverton. Then take the B3212 to two bridges, then B3357 to ashburton. It'll bring you back out on the A38. Truly epic ride
Can't beat the USB positioning on the Classic 350 , right under the clutch lever, inches away from my phone mount 👌, love your visits to our historic English villages 🙌👍.
Hi Freddy I’ve been in Southwest Cornwall for a week now. Came down from rossendale but the long way down through the middle of Wales which was ace. And then down to the A39 which is a fantastic coast Road. Over 2 days on my speed-master 1200 👌
Mate, loved your story about ‘new’ riders. I’m one myself and occasionally feel very self conscious around more experienced bikers. Moral of the story is they were once that newbie. Keep up the great work.
Gotta say Freddie great video & what a great bike to go to Cornwall on, I was planning on going on a road trip to Cornwall early summer & I thought I would visit Thruxton on my RE Intercepter as like yourself I’ve passed it & never went there! Just loved the story of the triumph rider encouraging you on the ride in London👍🏻

Hi Freddie. I’ve just got home today from a road trip from Belgium to North Yorkshire with my son who rides GS 1250 Ralleys. We did 340 miles today. Me riding my RE Super Meteor. No butt ache leg ache etc for a third of the price of the Harley. I’ve owned Harleys for 46 years. The Super meteor is a contender if you dismiss class distinction.
Awesome video! I'm up north in Yorkshire but originally came from down their. Parents moved here when I was a kid. The last time I was down there was Redruth. Illogan and Truro were shool holls with relatives, sadly missed.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Bonneville is beauty for me, but the Fat bob is simply ugly. And, |When Feddie acknowledged that the Fat bob is no mile muncher but every other thing is so beautiful on this bike; consider that he wants to borrow another Harley for a long ride again.
I'll be doing party of your journey this week as I'm heading down to Falmouth for a day. I'll be starting close to your stop off point in Thruxton. Hampshire really is a beautiful county away from the big towns. I'll be going on my vstrom so expect to do it on a single tank of fuel. It's a shame almost all of the roadside cafés are now plagued with lotsoBucks coffee.. Otherwise I'd do plenty of times en route.
Freddie, you're killing me with all those thatched roof cottages! - one of my favourite styles of house😍😍😍 I'm loving the HD too - I've ridden it, and it's fabulous if a little compact for a tall rider 👍

I tried to flag down this one rider to confirm my route and he just blew past me. After a while I caught up to him, he was on the side of the road pointing to his fuel tank, I waved and and continued on..
Freddie, enjoyed the ride, thanks. You were so nearby at Thruxton, I am surprised you didn’t take us past Stonehenge, it’s as good a route as any to Cornwall… Maybe on your return? I’m sure some of your international viewers would be interested to see it.

Hi Freddie, Great video as usual - even without Monica behind the lens! I don't know whether you are still down here, but as a local biker in Cornwall we have a pretty vibrant bike scene going on down here. Bike nights at various locations several times a week - Tuesday it's Long Rock down near Marazion, or the Bearded Brewery (a local cider brewery) up near the airport at Saint Mawgan, Wednesday its Bude bike night or the Waterfront Inn at Portreath, Thursday it Chapter 1 Diner over by Damerells Motorcycles up at Indian Queens, Friday its the Inn for all seasons at Redruth. There are probably others that I have forgotten to mention. If the weather is good they are usually very well attended. Plus some are in spectacular settings - Bearded Brewery is surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside and the meet down at Long Rock is right on the coast in the carpark between Marazion and Penzance over looking St Michaels Mount. The Bude meet up is right by Crooklets Beach and Rosie's Kitchen. Could be well worth a visit if you get the chance.
Looking forward to seeing the sights around Cornwall. Last time I was their was back in 1981 on a Canadian destroyer escort. The count down to the DGR with Joe from Wurks presenting the rebuilt Triumph Bonneville to Freddie can't come soon enough. It will be epic!
As I probably mentioned in some other comment on some other of video of yours, Freddie, I am a recent convert to Harley Davidson as well. I got myself a 2023 Fat Boy last September, and I love it more and more, as days turn into weeks into months. I could not resist and got it a stage II upgrade, even. It is quite a unique riding experience what it gives me, and I was so surprised when I found out I had been missing so much, for such a long time. I sold *two* superb motorbikes I truly loved - a 2005 Honda CB1300, and a 2016 Honda Africa Twin, certainly motorbikes I'd recommend wholeheartedly to anyone - but the Fat Boy gave me a riding experience I can hardly describe. I think I can tell from this video and the Sports Glide ones, Freddie, that a Harley is certainly what you should get yourself. Don't hesitate. Live the dream. :)
Hi, I am leaving from Ashford, Kent tomorrow morning, heading down to a thatched cottage on the River Dart in Dittisham nr Dartmouth for 1 week on the BMW GSA, hoping to discover some nice little roads around Dartmoor and the local area, can't wait to get going ! Might see you out and about Freddie. I live near Looe, it’s been a glorious day yesterday and today and looks to be a fine weekend ahead too! Your timing is perfect as well as I’m sure your parents will have vouched, we’ve had nothing but rain since..October.
Freddie the farm shop on your right just before Monkton set down from the lay-by travelling S W ( not the one on the left) is fabulous with great views. Catch it on your way home on your left 😎
I noticed you mentioned the cruise control as a well like feature, well the good thing about that is you can add that to any newer softail Harley for not a large cost now. I just installed it on my 22 street bob, definitely a game changer.
Harley makes iconic and beautiful bikes but when I saw the front mud guard all I was thinking how worthless it would be if it started raining. RE makes mud guards that really are functional, maybe a little classic style, but they work. I was hoping to see the dog you're spending time with when your parents are gone. A true dog lover. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
After my review of the fat bob I realised that it’s the best Harley for me. It’s the best fit. Much better performance than the sport glide. I absolutely destroyed a sport glide in a little race and that was my favourite before my review. Unfortunately the people at Harley Davidson don’t let me have one for more than a few hours. I want one but because Harley Davidson were shocking with me trying to arrange bikes it has put me right off. Still great bikes though. Just a shame I will never buy one.
Thanks Freddie for this video, and for all your other videos. You've no idea how inspirational they have been! I've never even thought about riding but after watching your videos, I will start the long journey of getting my motorcycle license. I live in a country where it takes almost half a year to get a license to ride a bike of 200cc or smaller, and then another two years before I can ride anything more than 400cc. So it'll be a long time before I get to ride something like the Fat Bob, but hopefully I get there one day!
Myttin Da.. Kernow.. This Boy wishes to be Home.. enjoy a St Austell "Mena Dhu" tis Proper Job.. Will be nice to watch as the pair of ya tour Locally..as was, thought you were about to pass Dozmary Pool on that backroad..! Have a good un' Cheers
It’s funny 😂 I just traded my Harley in for a triumph bobber. The difference is worlds apart. The Harley sounded better, but that’s about it. I could always change the pipes and that sorts the sound out. There is no comparison on the ride. The triumph is so much smoother and I feel more comfortable on it. You still get the emotion feel which makes you smile.
@@hulkhatepunybanner I still have my Breakout but if I didn’t own that I would definitely bought a bobber but the Triumph Scrambler is a close second and ideal for what I use if for

Proud member of the Southampton and District Motorcycle Club here that's now in it's 80th year
This is a great bike! So is your video 👍
Brilliant video Mr Dobbs 👍🏼
Now that's a route I'd love to run.

.Great video Freddie. 👍👍👍
I have a Breakout and 900 Scrambler but the Bobber is a very nice bike for nearly half the cost of the Harley 👍🏻
*Which Harley did you have?*
@@hulkhatepunybanner I still have my Breakout but if I didn’t own that I would definitely bought a bobber but the Triumph Scrambler is a close second and ideal for what I use if for
Great vid Freddie, even my 2022 Enfield Classic 350 has a USB socket, placed on the handlebars, factory fitted!! 😊
What a lovely video.
Generally not a cruiser fan but this motorcycle from HD looks stunning! what a bike
Remember the litter in India. Can i ask you to consider setting an example on your channel and please use a reusable coffee mug or tell the staff you would prefer a normal cup. Every little helps.. great channel by the way.. thumbs up from Ireland.
883 to a Fat Bob definitely will be a good idea 💡 for me. Cheers Mate 🤙🏽✨ Good vibes. Ride Safe
I don't even have a bike, but looking at how cool you are I hope I get to be as cool one day when I get one!
