Next video I'll have an airbag light 😂
Good for you Ben. Hope it serves you well. Look forward to hearing about your adventures in the Grenadier.
Won’t serve him well.. lol why get this when haven’t even wheeeled significantly with the LC ?
I have been wheeling Toyotas since the late 80s. Currently have a 72 FJ40, 1980 Troopie, 2005 LX470 and a 07 FJCruiser. I jumped ship 2 and half years ago to put a deposit on a Grenadier day 1. I lived the Toyota reputation and reliability, but I believe the new stuff to be watered down and it no longer interests me. I have had my Grenadier for 3 weeks now and hopefully, the Grenadier can build a good reputation and heritage. There are lots of little things with this truck that make it obvious it was designed and engineered by people who have been off road and in the woods.
They are an awesome vehicle. Where do you take it for service?
For someone who has car problems, buying a low volume car nobody knows how to work on and nobody stocks parts for is going to suck even more.
yep.. hes a fool
@@bruiserlou6191if my house was that small I don’t think I would be spending all my money on cars lol.
Exactly😂
Parts are easy to come by…bmw engine…eibach springs etc etc
@@BenHardyCars Ben, are you really trying to defend this purchase after posting a series of videos about unreliable cars from established brands? C.mon, this is a TH-cam purchase, plain and simple. And, truth is, its getting old - while fun to watch reviews of cars like this, non-TH-camrs should never buy a Frankencar like this unless they have plenty of money to spend.
Let's go! I will eagerly be awaiting a video demonstrating the Downhill Assist with Cruise Control (unlike others who slide down steep grades in 4- low not knowing you can use Cruise Control) and a video demonstrating towing capabilities with both unbraked and braked trailers (and whether a brake controller is necessary).
Always good reviews Looking forward to the review and see how this new product does
You will love it I hope. Every time I drive mine I find something new about It that I love. I have been through a lot of cars and this one seems to be a keeper because it is simple.
Congrats on your purchase. I hope you enjoy your new vehicle.
Can't wait for the .lim Selling video
Love the color. I don’t think the dark green or black do this vehicle justice. For about a month, I had convinced myself that this was my next car, but after following the facebook groups and seeing that Ineos won’t even fix the over-speed warning annoyance, I’m now looking at Toyota’s LC. There’s a number of other things, door seals coming unglued, ac system draining into footwells, windshields cracking without impact from anything, etc…maybe if the price comes down, I’ll be swayed to reconsider.
Long time Toyota fan and 200 series Land Cruiser Owner.. I support your decision, current Toyota is not what they used to be.
Great choice !!! Something different from the options you see around today is not bad at all … enjoy your new ride👍
This absolutely adds up for you... I think while it's possible you'll have to deal with goofy little problems here and there, it's not your main vehicle so it'll be no sweat. Have fun with it!
What's the over/under on when this one will be for sale? Three months? Six?
I'll say two months, he finds it unrefined and ready to trade for the new 4runner.
4-6 months max
@@JG-od3xy No Way Ben keeps it a year. I'm thinking 8 months or less.
6 months max
You won’t be disappointed , ive had mine almost a year and apart from early software issues that got sorted before Christmas I can’t fault it .
Ineos pro active in sorting nighkes by producing service bulletin updates . They reactive and not sitting back ignoring things . This car will become the benchmark and now G wagon on independent front suspension it’s the only real choice for true 4x4 over landing
If you are located in the U.S. where do you take your vehicle for service?
Probably the same place where you purchased it. They have approx 20 dealerships in the USA. 6:55
I see plenty of over landing videos that seem like true overlanders. None of them are this vehicle 😅
@@mikelaughlin270Right now the dealer network is supposed to do the warranty annual service - but I’ve seen cases where Ineos just comped the owner on independent service (AC leak from an assembly issue). I took mine to an independent mechanic (mostly European cars - Mercedes, BMW and Porsche), and he said no problem - thought it would be easy. He’s doing some mod stuff for me this week. And the local BMW dealer kind of gave me a “secret handshake” on the engine and transmission. It’s not sorted out by any means, and we’re all waiting for a more comprehensive plan - but there are enough of us who love it that we bought out basically the entire ‘24 production lot. I figure I can improvise in a pinch this first year, but doubt that I’ll have a need. My dealer is 2 1/2 hrs away. I realize this isn’t an answer mainstream buyers would want to hear - but for the early adopters, it’s good enough. We’ll work it out with Ineos for the rest of you, then you can come and party down on the trail with us when you’re ready. But you owe us a beer. Man law.
Good Decision Ben, best to stay away from GREED-YODA
They really need to crack down on their dealers. The markups have been extreme for 3 years
But an $80k vehicle is not greedy?? 😂
@@Jayda08 they are a new company at a small scale, they are likely loosing money on each vehicle at this point
Man, now that is soooo cool. I love that it’s an old school rugged manly look to it. It is made in France and comes with a nice smooth 3.0 6 engine.
Not to mention how unique and beautiful that over head console area is with more buttons on it. Than a boring new style Lexus or Land Cruiser with a lawn mower 2.4 4 cylinder engine😂
Ben please do a thorough comparison on the GX 550 and the Grenadier as your closing statement really piques my interest. I’m comparing the 550 OT and a Grenadier as well! Congratulations! I think the Sela Green is my favorite exterior color from them.
Nice, Ben. The Grenadier is the only vehicle I'd trade in for my Gladiator. I have little concern about these mechanically. Basically everything on it is widely available except the axles (which by all accounts seem strong). Engine, transmission, transfer case, all the ECUs, BCMs, etc, etc. are used on hundreds of thousands of vehicles. And the body and frame are as traditional as it gets... yeah the body guy may have never heard of it... but he can fix it no problems I bet. I really like it. I'm happy with my Gladiator but if I were in the market.... I'd go for it.
Looking forward to seeing you take it off road, I hope that it gives you good service.
I traded my '24 Everglades and took delivery on my pre-order last weekend. I always wanted a '97 Defender 110 but didn't want to buy it used. I've always liked the design of the Grenadier since its first release photo. It's a gamble, and I'm hoping there are no issues because my dealer is 1.5 hours away. I guess I should not complain because some pre-orders are out of state. Congrats!
This was a huge surprise to me cause never in a million years did I think of this one for you. I hope it serves you well and I can't wait for ownership updates on this.
SWEET! Congrats Ben!! Even though TFL did those videos. I will look forward to see those.
Congratulations, Ben!! I'm really excited to see how you and the Grenadier get along. As I said on your last video comparing the Grenadier and GX550, my choice was Grenadier all the way. There are going to be plenty of Toyota fanboys making stupid amounts of content about the GX and Land Cruiser. Instead of getting lost in that mess, you have something tougher, more unique, and frankly better looking IMO, which I think will drive more viewership for you. At least I hope so. Man, I wish I had one of these, so I guess I'll have to live vicariously through your videos. Enjoy it!!
Sometimes in life you make choices either with your heart or with your mind - I think you made this one with your heart. Had a feeling you'd pick the Ineos since you seemed quite smitten with the tactile-ness and quirks from the reviews. There's a lot of people here bagging on your choice but they do bring up some valid reasons. Who knows what the reliability is like after 1-2 years, especially since you're actually planning to take it off road (unlike most people). And are the dealers themselves going to be honorable and keep this thing ship shape or are they gonna sell the snake oil and dodge you as much as possible with minor and/or major problems? Those are some real concerns for not only Ineos but also these chinese car companies popping up like daisies. They're all in the same unproven boat no matter how much $$$ backing they have. HOWEVER - you only live once and I can respect that you're willing to take a chance for something you feel is more you. Whatever happens I'll be glad to watch you on this new adventure with what I think overall is, a very interesting car. Take care and best of luck!
I'm actually looking at both the vehicles you mentioned. Looking forward to you comparing the off road performance of the Lexus and Ineos.
Congrats!!! I think you’ll love it. Raised air is smart for Utah - unnecessary for me in WI. Also nice that you added a couple of extras to the Trialmaster spec. On the steering - I’m going to add the Fox steering damper that Agile Off-road is selling (it’s just like $280). I have no issues with the stock damper off-road, but have noticed just a little shoulder fatigue during long interstate runs, especially if there is a cross-wind. Everyone on the owners forum who has done it in the last few weeks since Agile released it has great things to say.
This is not a promo for Agile BTW! I’m just an owner and you mentioned the steering. Just look at the steering damper, maybe check out the caster angle - and drive this thing until you’re so old your knees give out and you can’t climb up into it any longer ;o)
Congratulations 🎊🎉 on the new ride 💙💙💙💙💙 love that color 😊
Love it! As I check the insurance change quote to go from GX to Grenadier 😂
I think it will be cool to see how the Grenadier holds up
Good call Ben! I have owed nuthin but Toyota’s. Tundra, two 4Runners and two Tacoma’s. I was going to get a GX550 but the front locking differential on the Grenadier made me change my mind.
Congrats! Enjoy the new wheels
Congratulations on your Grenedier! Looking forward to your off-road content!
Man, could call. Go with what makes you happy…Toyota people are a special breed. Talk about boring. I don’t care how “reliable” they are…if I am paying $70K plus for a vehicle I want it to put a smile on my face when I look back at it and when I drive it.
Man, im totally jealous. What a stellar vehicle, it looks almost too good its ridiculous. Grats in your ineos
I actually love the key ignition, more tactility and just overall is more satisfying to start the vehicle imo instead of just pressing a little button
Sweet ride bud!! Kudos
The steering will drive you nuts. Your tires look to be "heavy duty" truck grade which will contribute to your firm ride. I know its solid axels but tires make a big diff when it comes to ride. Also, no real dealer and service network established yet. I honestly hope for you nothing but good experiences with this suv. Tint those port windows asap so you don't melt. Cool vehicle though.
Great choice!
There's no denying how cool and purpose-built the Grenadier is. But I'll be surprised if you're content with its reliability. Yeah, it has a good warranty, but who wants to deal with failures, especially when you're out in the wilderness? I know, your Land Cruisers caused you problems, so I get it. But an airbag light will never leave you stranded. Can Ineos build a more reliable vehicle than Toyota? I'd be astounded by that. Good luck with your very cool purchase!
For comparison - I drive a Grenadier, bought my son a Tacoma TRD OR. We went in to our local Toyota dealer for service for his Taco. Service manager used to drive Hummers during the Gulf War. Whole service team came out to look at the Grenadier, I let them play with it. They all admitted the new LC will NEVER measure up to the Grenadier on toughness and overbuild. The frame, axles, connector rods, transfer case . . . it just stomps all over the pretend Land Cruiser - but politely and with the toot button. If you want to compare the Grenadier to the LC 70 from outside the US, or the old 300, fine - otherwise, it is in its own category in the US.
Nice. Reminds me of the defender we had when we were deployed
That thing is awesome...I'd have to get the quartermaster tho...looks sick...very curious about the mechanical and electrical longevity....I'd seriously consider buying...but to the point of others comments any warranty issues would be tough due to dealer access, and hopefully maintenance is straight forward and simple...idk
It will be interesting to see your comments on the gremlins, and ADAS 'features.' I picked mine up in late November and sold it in February. I liked it but didn't love it.
Well if you have a problem like you did with the LC I am pretty sure they won't be like Toyota and say take a number or no we don't cover that in the warranty. This is their only model and it's gonna be all hands on deck to get it right. I'm glad you got it because your experience is going to be way better after the sale compared to the big and established brands. The red carpet will roll when you have an issue and you can be sure to be treated like folks used to be treated at the dealership, like a family member not just another sale. Small local dealers are the best these days. Good luck and enjoy
Ben good choice on your new vehicle I like your decision
congratulations Ben. cool wheels. share your off road adventures with us.
Glad you went with the Ineos over the Toyota. I’m definitely souring on the new Toyotas personally, especially considering the wild prices on them currently. Had my heart set on a TRD pro Tacoma but really don’t like what Toyota has done with the engine and other various bits, so I went with a frontier pro4x. Did some suspension, wheel/tire upgrades and I still spent about 20k less than the TRD pro Tacoma and happy with the v6 I wanted. Congrats on the new vehicle Ben!
Congrats Id love one of these
I think you made the right call!!!!! I am a “pre 2022 Toyota guy” and would buy the Grenadier if I were in the market for an SUV.” Love it!!!!
I knew it!!! LOL You couldn't resist.
Congrats 🎊 good luck 👍🔥
We purchased a Scottish white with lockers and we did broken arrow here in Sedona and never even used the lockers , and we have a 12 Rubicon, which we have to use the rear locker there at 2 obstacles.
Great looking truck. I bet it proves to be very reliable.
This is a great choice. I believe that the powertrain is gonna be reliable as it is a proven BMW B58.
You just have to look at it as a 80’s vehicle that is built solid but with 90’s tech. I am sure you will have some
Issues but it is expected to have a few. I think you did the right choice. I would have done the same. It will last a long time after you learn to love the quirks. The little wind noise etc will become just part of loving it more! Congratulations 🎉
Cool vehicle
If I’m keeping track at home you have now soured on Toyota and Ford is that right ?
Maybe I’ve missed the videos but you talk about off roading but I have never seen off roading videos.
Looking forward to this.
I think these are badass. I’m excited for the content and the wheeling videos on it
Congratulations Ben.
Frankly, have become so tired of the detractors and their comments.
I applaud your decision. To many of us, the Ineos appeals to an independent spirit and we are able to accept the associated risks.
To those who do not like the vehicle, go live your daily lives within the safe confines of predictability, driving what you are told to like.
Life is too short, enjoy Ben.
Nice ride, I’m digging it.
That’s pretty cool, and myself now owning a bronco raptor and the 392 in the future this could be an option, I just looked them up I am in Northern California, and there is no dealers, they are far fewer and very limited fortunately for you they’re right in your town so if you had a problem at least you could get service, that would be a cool vehicle to own but would hate for something to happen and have to go hundreds and hundreds of miles to get service. Really curious how this is going to work out in the long run but it’s pretty cool and it’s different I like that👍
A side by side review of the GX550 and Genadier would be awesome. Considering you're saying having the 550 for a week is what made you want the Grenadier the reasoning behind that would be fantastic.
@@JOSH-ge4oc Yea I wouldn't get one based on the 3.4L issues in the Tundra and other modesl. But I'm curious what in a week of driving it would make someone not want it.
Congratulations on the new addition.
5/14/24 - Pop up scrolling how I came across your vid
I appreciate your voice / presentation / vids
This vid is the first I heard of Ineous Grenadier
So I researched some and I read pros cons
As vehicles go, reminds me of G-Wagon look
I'm with your boldness to experience outside Toyota
And yea I wouldn't anytime soon buy 3 / 4 / 6 twin turbo anything Toyota
For now I'll stick to looking to 2021 and prior
Aspirated engines
Specially Toyotas
Again thank you for your vids
P.S. Fun info: This vehicle named after a pub in London
I knew you were getting it at the moment that you reviewed it. It was just something in your eyes dude…
You test all the problems out of it .....
Congrats!
Its a damn shame we couldnt have gotten the diesel as well. Seemed a diesel would have been fitting for such a solid tank like the Ineos.
Ineos, because of how well its built I would keep probably for the rest of my life. Dont think they make vehicles like it. Cant wait to see what the truck can do.
What?! I’m shocked! Congratulations
I won’t be able to watch this until later today but you def choose the PERFECT replacement for the Bronco Raptor (super excited to see content on it), I’d still get a more conservative Land Cruiser replacement though (with 3-rows)
Its a beautiful vehicle as was the Bronco. Toyota reliability is certainly a question mark with the new slew of models .. can't speak for the GX however. I hope it serves you well.
Ben, at 4:25 do you have a window open or is that road and wind noise?
Congratulations
Cool purchase Ben...cant wait to see it on the trails - Are you going to do any mods to it?
Stock for now
Looking forward to your long-term updates with the Ineos Grenadier.
Does yours have a trailer hitch? Would be cool to see a towing test.
TFL briefly had one. They did a lot of cool off-road reviews did not really speak about daily. Theirs did not have a hitch and could not tow.
It tows 7700 lbs
Mine has the hitch
@@BenHardyCars Hook up a 7000lbs horse trailer and let's see it go!
I like it. Never heard of it, but it’s different and looks cool.
I like it, I hope it’s reliable for you.
Nice vehicle!! You see this is what the new defender should have been - and don’t worry if the company goes under- it’s a BMW motor so you can always get service
Cant wait to see how this works out - please keep the INEOS for a while (in good health). Its going to interesting to see if it holds up..
The Land Rover Land Rover refuses to make. Beautiful car. Just interested to see how reliable it is long term.
I had a down payment on one of these and after waiting a year I said forget it and got a F150 Raptor for about the same price. I made a good decision.
Congratulations. I want one of these too. I want the Trial Master because I would want the more luxurious version as opposed to the Grenadier version, but honestly I woukd take either one and I would want it in Slate blue or Toyota's OD green or Cement colors. If I was rich enough to get one, I would get 2 amd keep one for my property in Florida, one for my property in Montana and for my house in Utah because I made a promise to you if I ever won the lottery, in Utah I would have an EDC Defender 110. It has the BMW B58 engine which I guess is having some issues when ousted, but other people said they are pretty rock solid. I wouldn't worry about Ineos going out of business. There is a famous yachting story about the owner of Ineos pulled up to a 210', 41 million dollar yacht and the yacht was parked next to a seawall. The crew was waiting for someone to come look at the yacht amd then here comes this guy in a beat up Toyota Hilux. He was wearing dirty ripped up trousers, a photographers hunting vest and had a dirty gun dog with him in the passenger seat. They thought he was there to just get a good look at the yacht as some sort of passerby or an old ex-navy seaman maybe. But then he comes up and walks along the length of the yacht by the pier, says 'I'll take it' and then drove off. Just like that he bought it. He's supposedly very eccentric, but also demands quality.
The Fieldmaster is the more luxury config compared to the Trialmaster. Grenadier is the model - not the trim level. You can also just get a base and configure it online so you get the off-road capabilities of the Trialmaster with the “luxury” features of the Fieldmaster (safari windows, leather, alloy wheels). It’s totally configurable any way you want.
Use ceramic tint when you tint the safari windows
Awesome!
I am now seriously jealous, as I think this is currently the nicest one. Very apprehensive of the new Toyota lineup now, hearing left and right how the V6 engine keeps failing. But what vehicle is your wife driving now? Jeep or green LC200?
congrats ben......i had a feeling this was the route you were going but your last vid threw me off when you said "reliable". Good luck with that engine, i personally know a couple of early adopters of the Ineos that backed out when they found out the final powertrain. Really hope yours works out tho, great color choice!
I look forward to your future Problems With My Ineos videos.
Lol
Least surprising choice ever. As soon as ben reviewed one of these it was a done deal. The toyotas and their lights just accelerated the eventuality.
Great vehicle, inspired by the Defender.
What in the mutated hell is that bush at the beginning? I like the Grenadier.
Hahaaha
if you have this next month a would be amazed 😁
I did not know Utah turned into a police state…
I love the Ineos grenadier, I will buy one in a few years
Great choice Ben. People are fleeing the Toyota brand like a sinking ship.
The new Toyotas are having crank bearing failures right now. Toyota is always quick to address issues like that and will take care of buyers, but going with something nobody hardly knows about can also be interesting especially if it turns out to be super reliable, but I do not see that in your future when every brand known has had lots of problems as of late.
There is NOTHING the Ineos Granadier will do better than a Bronco Raptor. Those tiny wheels and tires at that price point, thats just criminal.
It’s an overlander, not a boulder crawling clown car. 32” K02’s are well balanced and that size is obtainable in all markets. It goes to 34’s with the standard 2” Eibach lift (no need to change dampers), and without moving the spare mounting bracket - but Ben can try it out and see what he thinks stock.
More videos about your Grenadier
I love ben's look of regret as he's driving down the freeway. This thing will be gone in a month.
awesome looking car the engine very reliable now lets hope everything else is just as reliable ,congrats on the tank of a suv😂
Nice! I like The Grenadier!
Thank god it comes with a snorkel. That will be used so much. LOL
Exciting !
