Hi Lisa ❤ love the dress looks beautiful on you 🥰 tip for zips on thin, flimsy fabrics, add strip (about 1”wide)of thin interfacing both sides of the zip opening, this will help you to sew your zipper in much easier ❤sending much love to you and your family and ms MP 🥰
@@onelisashow thank you Lisa for caring , I’m recovering but my leg is still hurting when walking ,but I need to get going it has been many months now.
The dress is beautiful. I think the way you described how you want to make the next sleeve on the dress sounds awesome. I need to get myself in my life put together too! I cannot believe the weather is changing here already and we will be in winter before you know it! Have a great weekend Lisa. I had a plane crash of a project for the past couple of weeks and I am trying to get myself out of a funk! I shared my top on my channel.😢
Thank you, Zelda! I've been watching your progress on that project--- I need to catch up this week, its been a long work week. I agree the weather is changing, but then again today was 90 degrees!! We are now having hot days and cool days, but only a week from September.
Right now I'm thinking the end of the year is near! I am taking baby steps today and I'm going to write what I want to do down, otherwise I'll not be able to keep myself on track.
I love your dress! I have to WIP to finish which is a pair of dress slacks that I made a muslin for last winter. Funny, but the muslin was a bit tight then, so I put everything aside in hopes to make another muslin. Since then I’ve lost some weight and tried the same muslin on a few days ago and happily it’s now a good fit. I just need to cut it out and stitch it up. I’m catching up on your videos as I’m so far behind. I really enjoy your channel. Thank you, Linda
Thank you for the kind words, Linda! I get behind on my favorite videos, too, I totally understand! I wish you good luck on your projects and the challenge!!
I used to put In invisible zippers years ago and I don’t remember any problems but now, I just put in a zipper however I want. Do what you want Lisa! I love your dress. What a win. You look great in it. I would also change the sleeve on the next one.
Hi Lisa, your dress looked beautiful on you. Your zipper is fine; you just need to be stitching a tiny bit closer. On your next invisible zipper, gently roll back the coil with your finger as you sew so that you get in a smidge more without going over the coil. Your friend would love a flannel baby blanket. 42 years ago I was gifted a handmade flannel baby blanket that I absolutely adored. It was mint green on one side and a tiny print on the other with hand crochet all around. Unfortunately, she had not pre-washed and dried the fabric and when I did, the two flannels shrunk in different amounts. My favorite blanket was a twisted mess. 😢 Take this as a cautionary tale❣️
Love both your new dress and the fabric for your coco you are wearing ❤ in the uk we are still in school holidays so it feels too early to think about changing seasons but i know its coming 🫣 🎃
Thank you Alison! I know, its coming. I think I am a sewist who likes to sew for the current season, but I want to be a sewist that sews for the future season---so I can act like I have my life together lol.
OMG Christmas is going to be here before we know it. I need to do some planning too. YOUR DRESS IS BEAUTIFUL! Cant wait to see the next one. In case nobody has told you lately, you are an amazing Aunt and dog Mom! Will you adopt me??????❤
your dress turned out so lovely! i'm also thinking about fall since we're about to hit September but i still have a couple of last minute summer makes to finish up first.
You’re not getting close enough to the zipper teeth/coil. Lightly pressing the teeth open/flat also helps a lot. It’s a beautiful dress and I would just look at it like it’s a design detail.
if you can get the dress on and off without using the zipper then don't add a zipper. With the neckline I think it would be do-able. It looks really good on you. I couldn't put in an invisible zipper even with a foot I bought just for that until I saw a video where they ironed the zipper flat. I used my regular zipper foot getting as close to the teeth as I could and it was the best one I had ever done. Still don't like them but I do this every time.
Thank you! I do need the zipper, but I'm fine with how it looks. If they had the gray zipper in stock, it would have matched almost perfectly. No big deal.
Your dress is beautiful on you, Lisa! I started on Christmas gifts today. 😊 And…every season is pumpkin spice season in my house. 😂😘
Thank you, Lynn! I do love pumpkin spice lol!!
