I have absolutely LOVED the Artist. Perfect for WOs or racing. Definitely will pick this new version up when released! I may have to race CIM in these.
I really like the update to the upper and the midsole. But I wish they did something to improve the durability of the outsole rubber. My Artist has partially worn-out on the heel to the foam on a low milage shoe (less than 100 miles). It is typical wear pattern for me but happens much later in my other shoes.
@@nathansmith6076 Good for you. I used mine mostly on the track which is a very abrasive surface. If it were a different environment, it could potentially last longer. But in any case, compared to other shoes in my rotation (including race shoes with thin outsoles), the outsole on Artist is performing much worse overall.
Curious, how would these compare with the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2? Both seem to have more mellow, easy-going carbon plates and a soft, bouncy superfoams. Thanks Sam for the great review as always!
Thanks for the kind words! Very similar with the Puma having a bit more aggressive feeling plate and slightly lower feeling heel. Race Model is yes slightly more easy going and can more easily range over to training for me.
It is a forgiving foam but different as it is supercritical nitrogen expanded TPE vs expanded bead TPU in Triumph. It is quicker reacting less deeply bouncy.
I have had the same thoughts as well. I hope it's just the wrong perception I'm getting. They are such a great bang for your buck shoe and outperform much more expensive brands.
Yeah, I also am not a fan of them adding the "Running Company" line under "Atreyu"... makes their shoes look cheaper and less minimalistic in my opinion...

Mine lasted for about 300 miles, maybe look into a way to start strike for mid fort rather than heel?

I know it is not the same material, but does the foam in the new Atreyu shoe feel similar to PWRRUN+ found in the Saucony Triumph 20/21?

TPE lasts MUCH longer than EVA.

Narrow shoe, like most race shoes, the toe box is not foot shaped, and a non zero drop from heel to forefoot. So, not for me.
