Hi, it was good to hear that the metaspeed edge is comfortable enough for more voluminous feet. Did you experience the same comfort in the metaspeed sky+? Last marathon I raced in the vaporfly 2s and my feet hurt so bad upon taking them off, especially in an area on my right foot where I had broken a bone several years ago. It was so bad that I couldn't put much weight on it and I ended up in first aid for a cold pack. Needless to say, I am looking for marathon alternatives😅
One thing to keep in mind is that I find for New Balance wide shoes, the entire upper is wider and has more volume, not just the toe box and lacing area. The regular SC Trainer was a bit snug, so I tried the wide version. But there was so much extra volume around the heal collar it was completely unusable for me. I always wear regular width shoes but I'm right on the cusp of benefitting from the wide in the toe area. But my ankles are definitely not wide.
You guys talking about the trainer being too wide in 2E width, try the new balance sc elite V3. It's just a little narrower in 2E vs the trainer in 2E.
Surprised to see Endo Pro 3 here. I find its toe box to be quite narrow (I'm not the only one) and more so than v1 at the same size. I don't have a completely wide foot though, just big toes (wide little toe and high big toe) but with narrow heels.
Awesome review, still surprised the adios pro 3 was left out of this, I am a wide footer and was the only one that felt right for me when I tried it on in a running store
I wish he did a wide version vs a size up, because of two reasons: Wide versions often more limited and sometimes you need a bit more space without the whole shoe being wider. I use wide/2E in most runningshoes and I have both speed and pro. I sized up and they are great.
It gets tough to do that because then I’m trying so many shoes. It can be overwhelming as it is with everything. I prefer wide instead of sizing up if available because heel slip bothers me a lot.
I always wear D in NB. Had to return the NB SC Elite V3 because it was so narrow and could barely fit my feet in them. So disappointed. Why didn't they make it the same width as the SC Trainer?!
Thanks this is the video I needed I have super wide toes I can’t find anything made for speedy long runs other then my hoka clifton 8 and there wide but I still have to wear super thin socks with them to make it through a 2 hours
I really want to love the SC Trainer as a wide foot runner. I have the 2E but the heel lock is rough on my surgically repaired right heel and Achilles. The left side feels like butter and I love it, but that right heel lock just crushes me.
Vaporfly 3 is by far the best carbon plated racing shoe and it’s not even close (I understand that it doesn’t come in 2E). I’m part of the wide foot fam and have ran in the majority of the shoes that were reviewed. The VF 3 accommodates a wide foot.
@@chriscoop6852 all brands are starting to widen their shoes for stability purposes, including Nike. The Nike Invincible 3 also accommodates a wide foot. You don’t have to believe me - ur loss!
I don’t think the vaporfly 3 was out when we filmed this. I actually tried it on at the Nike store in Boston recently. I’d be very intrigued to run further in it. The toe box wasn’t bad, but it felt like the bottom of my midfoot was being stabbed when standing in place. However, running on the treadmill it kind of disappeared.
@@jarrettw7753 right on! Obviously every foot is different, but I find the Vaporfly 3 to be as roomy as the NB Elite V3 (in a wide). I just wanted to let the wide footers know about the VF3! Keep up the awesome work!
I've always wanted to try a 2Ewide shoe for Training to give my pinky toes some extra room But worry the additional volume might create buckling at the 1st lace eyelet which i hate. Also, im generally fine with regular rear&midfoot as i like that area snug. Any advice on this? Basically wandering if 2E exclusively adds width or additionally adds volume/height? and how the 2E effects rearfoot&lockdown. I primarily wear NB... and looking to grab a Propel &/or Rebel soon. For reference the 1080 regular fits me great and SaucEndoSpeed1&2 regular are a tad too narrow. Thanks! Great video/topic BTW.
Hi Lee, I have the 2e NB 1080 v12 and it fits me like magic. However, I also just purchased the Propel v4 in 2e and it is extremely tight relative to the 1080 in the same size. If you cant try them on before hand, I would recommend going either the same size in 2e or sizing up 1/2 a size! Hope this helps!
Jarrett, . I just got the Saucony Enddorphin shift 3. But it’s too tight in the front. I need wide but my heel is not wide. Do you think the wide would fit in the heel ? I know this is slightly different, but I would love your advice. Thanks ! I follow you on Believe in the run and have used your recommendations for other shoes.
There needs to be more WIDE-FEET representation!
Also, need better freaking colors!
Saucony get yo’game up on the wide-sized colors!
Thanks for having me out there, RW! Hopefully this helps some people find some fun shoes that fit.

Thanks for the feedback! I find NB SC Trainer a little too tight as well, and was considering that wide version.
Thank you for the advice/experience. This partially answers my above question/concerns. Any more info would be appreciated!
Similar experience w/more V4. Normal was a little tight. Wide was massive.

I am eagerly awaiting the 2E version of the SC Elite v3.

Its sheety review indeed, without altra and real 2E shoes
The Metaspeed edge+ works well by going up a half size for width without any significant length penalty.
Even the non-wide RC Elitev3 worked for me last weekend at the Columbus 1/2 Marathon. Great shoe.
Thanks for having me out there, RW! Hopefully this helps some people find some fun shoes that fit.

Still waiting for a 4E race day shoe, tough having extra wide feet…
Awesome review, still surprised the adios pro 3 was left out of this, I am a wide footer and was the only one that felt right for me when I tried it on in a running store
Is that in regular or does it come in wide version?
@@Thomlabeit does not come in a wide I just got mine in 1/2 size up like in all the other shoes I bought that don’t have wide versions
I just recently tried the adios pro 3 and I agree that it does work! I just wish the heel collar didn’t periodically give my Achilles blisters.
I really appreciate this pinpointed review of wide foot shoes.
Good morning. Brilliant comparison. Like to running warehouse. My vote goes to saucony endorphin speed3. A nice day for everyone.
I really appreciate this pinpointed review of wide f
The ASICS meta speed come in wide ?? I don’t see on the website . Unless you’re saying they are made a little wide ?
beautiful.., RW, making sure all running audiences are heard.

Such a beautiful design and styleish shoes 👍👍

Speed 3 is still narrow in toe box, right? They not have 2E version...

Then I don’t believe you truly have a wide foot cause Nike’s are so narrow and do not accommodate a high volume foot
