    From a Canadian, the best way (least messy) to eat a filled donut is to find the hole where they pipe in the filling..that's your first bite. That way, you don't end up with filling squirting into your lap as you eat it 😁

    I haven't been to Canada for about 20 years. I remember Timmies as just a coffee shop that did donuts and a few other things. I didn't realise they did fast food as well!

    • @Nikki7B
      @Nikki7B 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fast food part of timmies only started coming about 15-20 years ago. It used to be much more simple, coffee/tea, doughnuts, and soup & few sandwich choices. Soup and sandwich back in the day was a common choice during the winter. Then the menu just exploded, and now it can be overwhelming to be honest. Some foods are really good, but I find the most of timmies "savoury" menu to be very bland. Lol

    I'm in Calgary, Canada. Your food from Timmy's looks better than what i get over here. My favorite items are the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and a Boston Creme donut. And if it's ever available, you should try their filled cookies and pumpkin spice lattes. We also have pizza on flatbread here (which was good), but it was over-priced because there wasn't too much on top.

    I first found Tim’s in Toronto in 2003, as most outlets only sold coffee. I’m a tea drinker and they sold seeped tea (lose tea leaves). They also did some nice chilli combo where you got a bowl of chilli, small bread roll, donut and a hot drink. I use to live on it when I was driving across Canada. The tea was to die for especially the seeped tea 🫖🫖🫖, I wouldn’t think of having two large mugs of it

    • @JJExtra
      @JJExtra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh we will have to find out if the Uk ones do chilli! They are gradually adding more menu items here so 🤞🏻

      lmaoo im born and raised in toronto my childhood order was a small ice cap, vanilla dip and turkey club with honey mustard(which i dont think they even sell anymore) but now the steep tea and the chili is the best thing and more hearty on the whole menu. Perfect in winter time

    Timhortons I think is designed for road trips and truck drivers mostly. Those who are on the highway or drive alot. It's convient. For instance the wraps you can very very easily eat with one hand which can be a deciding factor for a truck driver when going down the road and doesn't want anything that will get his truck dirty. It's cheap it tastes great and if your getting a flavored ice cap ask for a regular ice cap then ask for flavor shots after. In canada it makes the fancy ice caps a little cheaper. And if your getting lunch always get the donut. If my memory serves me correct it doesn't add anything to the cost of a coffee and sandwich and if anything turns it into a meal and makes it cheaper to the same price

    Im thinking the Canadian Timmys need to step up to the UK ones. Looks like they have deep fryers in UK, everything in Canada is pre-packed and microwaved. Not to mention the menu. Most of that stuff you are eating in UK isnt available in Canada. Back in the 80's & 90's, the donuts were cooked fresh in house by bakers, now they deliver them frozen to the stores in bulk. Timmys used to be a go-to store in Canada, but is now just riding the name. Timmys has become a Marmite coffee store unfortunately.
