    Hello again!
    I wanted to say about the Brooklyn Tweed jumper. Tip:
    Write the chart out and read it, it may take some time, but may help. I can read charts, but they aggravate me, so I tend to write charts out for myself and read them, and it’s faster for me to cover up with bookmark or blank paper as I finish row of knitting. If it’s to wide for you also, you can omit one if the pattern repeats in each side. That will give smaller size and look similar, and easier with less cabling as well.
    I’m not sure if your use to cabling but so also filing the “U” type cable needles to be very much easie mr and faster as well.
    I hope it gets better and maybe I’ve helped in some way 😁🤔😉🥰

    • @irishfarmart
      @irishfarmart  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a great recommendation! Also I was meaning to try those type of needles…this might be the point I actually go and buy them…I am currently using the straight one but I found it falling off all the time

Coincidentally, I decided to learn to knit Norwegian style from Arne and Carlos, so it's perfect! I will email you:) Could you write your email for me? I didn't see it in your description:) Thanks!! Please note: a garment made from 100 percent wool, superwash or not, does not need to be washed more than once or twice a year, even if you wear it nearly every day. Just air it over night and remove any stains as they occur.

    I feel your pain - I finally finished a “special request” from my youngest daughter - a black (black!!!) cabled sweater. There are a few mistakes that I left in - at least one in the double seed stitch sides and one in the hugs and kisses cable on the back. I don’t think I have ever been so relieved to see the end of a project!

    Sam, stop trying to torture yourself. Find a pattern that is better written. Aran patterns are really not as difficult if they are written properly. The person who told you it will get easier is correct, after doing the pattern maybe 2 times it will be intuitive. Please try again, aran is so fulfilling.

    Yarn behaviour, a tip. Look up projects on ravelry made with the same yarn and read through other peoples notes.
    I did this halfway through knitting a compliacted sweater that I was resigned to frogging as It was looking too small. Someones notes complained that it grew 10cm after blocking....so now I was nervous about too much ease :D. It turned out the perfect size in the end. Imagine if Id undone and redone ir...all that work for an unwearably large garment.

    Please keep the Irish music! The end of the video brought back wonderful memories of our trips to Ireland. Thanks for sharing. Your "Irish " eyes are smiling! Don't get discouraged with the cable knit sweater. It is true that it becomes easier with practice, like everything thing else in life. I did pick up a trick for remembering the way you hold your stitches to make the direction of the cable. Left out front, be right back. I wish I had happened on it years ago. I find it very helpful in making sense out of the cables so I pass it on to you! When you hold your stitches in the front, your cable direction is left. When you hold your stitches in the back, your cable direction is right. It may sound silly but I imagine leaving something out in the front of my house realizing I forgot something else I needed so, I will be right back when I find it! Don't give up on cable knit sweaters. Just take your time and have paper and pencil or a knitting counter on hand to mark rows. I have to have quiet except for nice music when I knit complicated projects. I loved this video and look forward to the next.

What a great shame about your bobble sweater but sometimes these things happen. Think at the music school you might mean you were in “ the courtyard”. Sound a magnificent place. The backstory on your socks brought a smile to my face - not just because you were able to recreate your grandmother's sock pattern, but also the story of the building that inspired the socks. I appreciate your honesty on your Brooklyn Tweed pattern - I couldn't stop laughing. Just pure honesty.
