Seconding others on (hand) sewing grosgrain ribbon over the steeked edge - nothing to it, just make sure the sweater is well blocked. The burgundy sweater seems to fit like a dream, great job there. It's my 1st time watching your podcast so part of the fun was deciding what your accent told about your native language, and I'm guessing... Spanish? Probably way off, but still fun to try to guess😄 "Back in my t-shirt glory"😂
Yay!!!! Italian from Venice 🦁thanks so much for watching my podcast!!! Hope you enjoyed it, and thanks a lot both for the tip and the kind compliment! Warms my heart ❤️
Five of my most favourite passions are: knitting, fashion, books, travel and art so your videos seem to be tailored to my loves. However, I love your content whatever you find to talk about and find your channel one of my favourite go-to’s. Keep doing what you do Sam
@@irishfarmart Exactly! Kitters living in Ireland. I noticed that you’re really good at drawing too! I love drawing as well! I also have a TH-cam channel so feel free to check out my knitting podcast! I took a break for a while, but I just started uploading videos again this week
Your Billie Sweater is a knockout!! Love the color, too. Sari Nordlund has so many beautiful designs, I just made two of them this summer, the Poet Tee and the Ballard Tee. More are in my future! Thanks for an interesting and entertaining episode.😊
Kind of I did…it’s not been all and all solely dedicated to myself but it helped to stop social media for a while…though I missed the interaction with the knitting community
Still obsessed with that Burgundy Billy. You can use a bias tape to cover the raw edges of your cardigan. Also that black sweater... amazing. If it's by Birger, its gonna be good.
I always enjoy your knitting content and your stories about growing up, but was really happy to have some book talk this time. I love Gogol.. I think he is extremely funny and a very wise commentator on human nature! Fun watching you paint too! Glad you’re back
sam - ribbon, ribbon, ribbon for that sweater raw edge. can be grosgrain or bias tape... just make sure you measure the length needed AND pin it in place while the sweater is hanging. either on a hanger, or a sewing form. it will measure longer than if you just try it while the sweater is laying flat. roxanne richardson and suzanne bryan (both here on YT) have tutorials about doing this. good luck!
@@irishfarmart Oh and also thank you for the Amsterdam footage! It’s loovely, I wish I could go 😍 I didn’t know their Pride happened in August? It’s in August too here in Montreal :)
Welcome back!! Summer’s almost over, so, crafting season is commencing. Currently alternating between knitting (novice) and leather work (experienced). I find that knitting gets a bit monotonous so switching to leather work helps me rejuvenate a bit. Love your podcasts!!!!
Hi Sam nice to see you Absolutely love the jumper you are wearing a perfect fit an I also love the cardi an the navy you have started you will be alright for winter to keep warm as for covering the rough edge on your cardi can only think of sewing some sort of material tape over am sure you will think of a way or your subscribers may know a solution for you Amsterdam looks very nice sort of old worldly an glad you had a good time but nice to see you back take care ❤
Definitely so…I find that there’s nothing like the description of the environment and characters as these eastern authors…also the way the characters speak to each other…I wonder if it was like that in that society or something that Gogol and gang just made up
@@irishfarmart as eastern European I can tell you Gogol's description of a society is a caricature, but not that far from the truth really! Especially when it comes to dialogs between servants and their employer's. Of course it's also a product of it's time so that's something to take in consideration.
@@irishfarmart I would definitely recommend "With fire and sword" which is a historical novel, part of a trilogy happening in 1640 during Cossack Revolt. It' packed with action and there's some humour (Mr Zagloba is an icon in Poland). There's also a movie available for free on TH-cam with english subtitles which I highly recommend.
Hi Sam. I have t steeked anything yet, but have been trying to be brave enough to try a steeked cardigan. I have seen a lot of Nordic sweaters with a ribbon covering the ends. Here’s a quick video that shows the result- th-cam.com/video/f2a6rfmaOR8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pFkbraqEFleUFFtt. Maybe Google putting ribbon over a steel and see a more detailed video. Sew some cute ribbon over the steek to cover it.

I'd love a round neck jumper like this, but i can't knit
😂 well there’s always time to learn
