Nice work!
Thank you
I’ve called this a knitted cast on. But I didn’t know how to do the purl part. Thanks!
You are so welcome!
Omg. Thank you so much. I bought a kånken bag and two wax cubes but I did not know how to use them 😅
Glad I could help!
Oh my gosh. You're absolutely adorable in glasses. =D
Thanks 😅
all of the jumpers are great, the Islender really caught my eye. can I find the pattern on Ravelry? did a bit of research but it shows that it's available in a book - maybe I am searching wrong :)
Mmm there are plenty of versions of the same. I know dropps have one for free
@@irishfarmartfound it 😊thank you!
Lovely podcast - thank you. Your knits are all beautiful and fit you perfectly. Looking forward to more in 2025. Best wishes from Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks for a great post, very informative and inspirational. :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your work is so inspiring, thank you for sharing it with the world! They are all gorgeous, my personal favourites are Billie pullover, Sweater 29 and Moby sweater. Congrats 👏👏👏
Ohhhh I really love the billie pullover too! One of my all times favourite
All of your sweaters were gorgeous, and they fit you well. I'm curious to know what size needles do you usually use to knit fingering weight sweaters?
Thanks so much! I use generally 2.5 and 3 mm
They are all beautifully done and well fitting. Bravo for a year of lovely knitting.
Oh thank you 😍
I'm blown away by the number of jumpers you created and especially those in fingering weight. What an accomplishment! All are gorgeous and look great on you. I love you choice of designs and colors. Best wishes for your 2025 creations!
Thank you so much! To be honest I had not realise they were so many! 😂 best wishes for you new year too ❤️
Those are amazing knits! Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷
Thank you! 😊
Great inspiration for my next pattern. Thank you, Sam.
Wonderful!
where is the recipe for the dough? I need it!
Eheheh 200g of flour 110g of water 3g of salt 5g of oil
@@irishfarmart 😍Thx it would be my kitchen project today
@@kittyk.2577make sure you let the dough rest for a good while before stretching it
Hi Sam, its a nice video 😊 Could you tell me how did you make your selvedge stitches? Did you follow instructions in the pattern exactly? I am not happy with the way my selvedge stitches came out and I'm looking for another solution, for example chain selvedge stitches? I mean the part worked flat, like the collar and opening for the zipper.
Eheh it took me a looong time to figure it out! I did end up with knitting one round of k1 p1 and on the way back a tubular bind off of sorts. Basically thread your tail knit wise on the purls stitch, remove the stick insert the thread purl wise on the knit stitch. I wish I could show you because it’s more complicated to explain than to do it. It some out flat and tidy
@irishfarmart thanks for replying! I watched all your series about zipper sweater and it seems it was quite a journey 😅 I found out in women's version selvedge stitches are made by sliping every first stitch in row with yarn in front purlwise, and the last one is always knitted and this creates nice chain on both sides. This is what I've decided to do in my second attempt and it is looking good so far.
@@gastoniadebaideaux3763amazing! Let me know how you find it! I found the sizes (as you saw) to be a bit too large for my taste
SOOOO MANY gorgeous sweaters this year Sam 😍 my personal favorites are the Billie pullover and the black and white colourwork one, the last one you showed. They fit you incredibly well!! 🥰
Thanks so much! Still on the plan to start your Sandro 😅 super sorry about the massive delay
Loving all the sweaters. You always do such a good job. I still think about that wine colored Billy... This year, there needs to be some sort of sweater KAL
Defo that would be brilliant! Thanks for the comment my friend
Love your sweaters, especially the cable knit ♥ I can't wait to see what you will knit in 2025
Thank you! 😊 any patterns recommendations is more than welcome
You should be so proud of all this knitting. The jumpers are gorgeous and all really suit you! I am so tempted to knit several of them.
Ahahah let me know if you have any questions on any of them! Super happy to help
Hey, thank you for showing your great sweaters and the info! I find it very helpful.
You are so welcome! Let me know if you have any questions on any of the patterns, super happy to help
My favorite too
❤️
This was fantastic! Your knitting is gorgeous and your sweaters fit you well. I just stumbled across your channel. I will be back ☺
Aw thanks so much!!!!! Really means a lot!
Will definitely be saving some of these patterns for later...
🙏🏼
Hi Sam.
Hello 👋🏼
I want to make homemade streudel from scratch and the dough is intimidating for me...if I can first master this then I'll attempt croissant. Great music and technique, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Let me know if you need any tips!
How do you know if it’s G 100 material?
It’s written on the label
Nice work
Thanks 🙏🏼
I always look forward to your podcast. It's very inspiring to me.😊
Oh thank you! 🙏🏼 it means a lot
Gorgeous sweater and you look stunning in it. You wear black very well.
Aw thanks so much
As a Polish person living in Dublin WHERE? Where do you find these yarn stores around every corner? In Polish Aran patterns are called Irish patterns so this is exactly what I expected - yarn stores everywhere all at once. But aside from Winnie the Wool wagon and This is Knit I couldn't find any others. Please tell me I would love to find more. If you're looking for more inspiration for kind of Aran inspired sweaters I recommend the books of Alice Starmore, especially Aran knitting and Fishermen's sweaters :) I really enjoy your storytelling, thank you for the vlog :)
Ahahah well there are a couple in town, plus Hickeys all around the big shopping centres…the Winnie’s wool wagon by Sandymount…let me know if you are struggling! I think I have a spreadsheet linked to a video here about Irish yarn shops! They have not a big range but they are there 😆
"Everything I knitted" videos are very inspiring. I always watch them, just in case I miss some amazing pattern, or find unusual idea, tips, techniques. Love all your knits ❤
Thank you so much!
Same! I've saved so many patterns over the last couple of weeks. I guess I have to call out of work sick to get through those done haha
Listen Sam... I haven't knitted a sweater in 10+ years and it takes me 6 months to finish a pair of socks. So props to you! Doesn't matter if you knit the same jumper thrice in a row, the mojo you've got is impressive haha!
🙏🏼
Loved the video- have you tried any patterns from drops and if so, do you recommend any? I think drops Nordic midnight would be up your street?
Oh I have not…I have been tempted many many times but I find them quite difficult to follow
That light grey and white sweater is amazing. That might be knitting goals for me this year. Nice to see the what you've been working on.
Thank you! 😊
Glad to see you back!
Thanks so much
The Bold and the Beautiful. My Italian Great-Grandma watched it all the time when I was a little girl. She was a semesters in Little Italy NYC and she’d have me thread her sewing needles for her while she watched. Those are precious memories. Happy New Year 🎉 Happy knitting 💚🧶🩷
Yeah that is it 😂
If you're not feeling inspired to make an everything I knit video, how about a "high lights" or favorite knits of 2024? It might be a way to make a year end reflection type without having to go through everything you did. I love seeing when people make multiples of the same item. It tells me the pattern if good and the fit is good for that person. Oh I had to read that book for school. It was such a slog. Comparing it to a never ending soap opera is fair.
Thank you❤️
Why does TOM CRUISE goes se this concert
😂😂😂
Sam, It's always fun to watch your channel. I enjoy seeing your sweaters. As for making the same pattern again, I have one boot sock pattern that I enjoy knitting over and over again. I have about a dozen pairs of the same boot socks. I just enjoy them.🧦 I'm looking forward to your next video.
Ohhhh I love some good boots socks!!!!
Hi Sam good to see you 😊
Hey, thanks
Great to see you. I love to hear about knitting with your grandmothers and mother. It’s so interesting that there are all these other heel techniques, thanks for sharing. As always your jumpers are lovely, even your “ugly” Christmas jumper is beautiful. Happy New Year Sam.
Aw thanks so much! Happy new year to you ❤️❤️❤️
So great to see you again and hear about your creative adventures. I am coming up on the end of my first year of learning to knit and I’m getting more confident in what I am doing. Have been making scarves using different yarns and stitches to get familiar with what is possible/preferable. I hope to get started on my first sweater (aka jumper) soon and your comments about different patterns and yarns will be very useful in getting started on that. Thanks for sharing your journey!!!!! (Also very cold and snowy here)
Oh thanks so much. Take the jump, choose a pattern and go for it! Your first jumper (aka sweater 😜) will be amazing! I still wear my very first one at least once every couple of weeks!!!!
Your sweater looks gorgeous 😍
Thank you!! 😊
Kånken is made of 100% vinyl fabric and Fjällräven does not recommend waxing it. Wax is meant for G1000 fabric
of course there are special kånken made with g1000 fabric
i would die to go to this.
Absolutely worthy
Wonderful! Of course, knowing how to do the drawing is crucial 😅
Absolutely!
Cerulean blue, Payne's gray, then Yellow ochre? This is so good.
Yeah! One of my favourite combinations in terms of colours
I heard you say that it is difficult to find graph paper where you live. You might look at a university book & supply store. Some courses require graph paper, so they should have it. I bought my graph paper in notebook is in Italy, where it is easy to find.
Yeah I do but mine in Italy too 😂 especially blocks with holes for those paper folders ( not a clue how they are called in English)
