If NH gets another update, like an actual update and not just patches, I REALLY hope to see Tortimer's island return. I miss the mini-games on there so much! It's fun to visit friends' islands but there's really nothing to do... which, considering you even need a paid subscription these days to even be able to visit each other, is quite sad.
I think a new game where you play through like a truncated version of each game would be super fun. I would call it “animal crossing celebration” or something, and you play a version of every other game until you “earn” your vacation getaway in new horizons!
We need the quirky fun furniture sets back, like balloon, card, princess, the nintendo items. We need the themed villagers back as well. I miss W. Link and the splatoon octopus
My memory is a little rusty, but New Leaf had something almost like a kind of "New Game+" feature where you could start a new town, but have a jumpstart in funds and other things, right? I'd like to see something like that for New Horizons. That and like to see an improved Photopia mode. A separate area from Harv's house with an outdoor sandbox-style area and a building with rooms that can have their dimensions adjusted.
I think it'll be a new sideline game, similar to Happy Home Paradise where you take a plane to the city or something and can go to new shops and play arcade games with your friends and set up apartments or something. Or maybe work a job or something 😆 Then also upgrade the final missing parts in New Horizons like fully upgrading the shop, better more diverse dialogue with your villagers and froggy chair. I think this would give people enough reason to play for a looooooong time!
I would love to see things coming back in future games like the tree we had in ACNL, and more bridge options! I loved the fairy tale bridge, and was so sad that it didn't make an appearance in NH.

I think too many people are unnessesarily skeptical about when nintendo will release the next animal crossing. The go to argument is usually that nintendo took seven years to release new horizons from new leaf, but that misses the fact that new horizons was one of the bestselling games and one of the games that incentivised people to buy the console to play and that the jump from switch to switch successor will likely by shorter than from 3ds to switch.
I just really hope it will have the NL feeling. It's more than just nostalgia, I know it.. The true Animal Crossing Nintendo feelings. But I also kind of don't hope for that because I don't have the time or money lol.
I'm hoping they'll port over NH but add new features to get more people interested in the game again, add in items from Pocket Camp, and maybe new events as well.
I would guess they will patch, which offers exclusive features and items only available on the switch 2. That is the easiest and cheapest method of tying acnh to the switch 2. They might port ACNL, perhaps with graphics updates, but i doubt there will be a new game for several more years. Also future and keep up the great work, Mori! 🧡

If Switch 2 games are going to typically be $70 instead of $60, most I could see it a New Horizons "definitive edition" where it comes with the 2.0 update and Happy Home Paradise already baked in.
Doesn't that already exist? If you buy animal crossing in the store now, won't it already be updated? And if not, won't the game not boot up without installing updates anyway?
i'd like some player character extras myself. to be able to create your own leg wear (trousers, leggings, long skirt, short skirt, shorts) and to be able to wear gloves. (even if they don't have fingers lol) some more hairstyles (take some of the wigs from Pocket Camp and make them into hairstyles) more face options (like eye colours, noses, eyeshapes and mouth) and a bundle cart version with New Horizons and Happy Home Paradise. i'd buy the cart again if they did that, since then i could play two copies at the same time (on two switches, even if one was a switch2 and the other my current switch)

I’m not holding my breath for a new AC game to be the release title…and I’m not sure I would even want that. Demand is always super high for a new Nintendo console and being able to get your hands on one after launch is a tricky feat to begin with.
I think someone leaked it to us....most probably we will see a Ultimate AC game and I think it will be a launch title, considering Nintendo is headquartered in Japan and is the best selling game of all times! Nintendo wants to do something big with Animal Crossing to gain more fans....
Future. I hope Nintendo will make a collection of the 4 first main game. They can make the old games visit functions easier through the internet, which actually would be a big feature for the early games, so they may not need that much more. There would also be enough playtime to keep it going so they don't need to rush the next Animal Crossing, if they still try to find their next concept.
It'd be interesting to see a sequel to an older title like PG2, WW2, or CF2. Whatever they decide, I hope they revolve back to the more interesting villager dialogues from the OG Game. made things so much more interesting.

The developers are now looking into the statistics of New Horizons and Pocket Camp Complete to devise strategies, while making a new Splatoon game. The worse that could happen is a calligraphy wall scroll, hung on the office of New Horizons, with kanji that means "No Change", and Miyamoto Shigeru's official stamp at the bottom.
I've been wishing for them to add the old games to the Switch. It would be cool if they did some kind of DLC to add onto ACNH. I'd be good with that if it was something fun.
I don't like the idea of a patch or update. I'm not spending hundreds of dollars just to keep playing a game I've pretty much played into the ground. I might be willing to buy a switch 2, if they release a City Folk port. It's the only Animal Crossing main title I haven't played. I definitely would for a new main title. I'm not sure if I would shell out in order to play a spin off. I guess it would depend on what it featured. Here's hoping for good news!
(First time acnh player) I’m personally not a big gamer but I was so excited and hyped for Acnh and rushed out to buy me and my mum a switch and game so we could play together during Covid. Once we completed our islands and the updates stopped coming we lost interest. Even if they announce a new game or something I doubt I will buy a new console or game again just for them to stop bothering with it after a year. I don’t have that kind of money to waste again.
My hopes for 2025 are a new launch title at the end of the year, and that there is a 3.0 update with some of the items from pocket camp for the current game. As much as I don't like pocket camp, I do think a lot of the items in game are adorable.
Their plan is to keep shilling New horizons and pretend like that's ok, no update, no new game, not even an acknowledgement, it's just gonna be more "hey try playing new horizon again!" it's been that way for 4 years and it's not changing anytime soon.
i think a animal crossing game with multiple options like a island or you could go to the city or something like new leaf but all in one game where the player can just go from place to place would be so cool but i know i'm just dreaming because i honestly dont ever see that happening but it would be cool. since new horizions was my first time playing anything animal crossing and now i've played new leaf and pocket camp and love them all i look forward to any and everything animal crossing whatever that may be.

New horizons is fun but it’s so bogged down by needless menu style dialogue and the constant feeling that the game is SO afraid of you not doing something right so it has to over explain the simplest things. Patches and updates won’t fix this. Just want a totally new game and hope for the best that they don’t bog it down more like they did with new horizons. Dialogue should be meaningful and yet also carefree. I don’t meant villager dialogue btw. I want the npc’s to not feel like walking menus that try to mansplain to you how to use a shovel after 1000 hours

Old ports would NEED to come with quality of life updates to meet or exceed New Horizons. Trying to go backwards after playing ACNH is ROUGH. 😭
