I found a pretty consistent method to catch tarantulas/ scorpions: You approach the critter with net in hand. Hold A to ready a swing, and creep towards it. It'll flare up its front legs/ pincers, and when it does, hold still. If you do it right, it'll just flare up and hold a threatening stance, then settle down. Omg I do that too all the time and it drives me crazy! Especially when buying lots of tickets to go villager hunting. This new trick is going to help so much! I can not thank the creator of this video enough for this. Thank you thank you thank you 😀
The Summersault was one of the first things I discovered, I saw it in the trailer to the summer update that included swimming. so I rebuilt my peninsula (does that land feature have a name in game?) to be a cliff. I put dirt paths down like it was well trod and decorated like it was a summer hangout to go to the jumping cliff. It is has I go swimming because just walking into the water is boring.
The tip to prevent flowers spreading is one I’ve known for a while, although I usually prefer to just put in stone or brick paving once that’s unlocked because you can’t accidentally pick it up. I would also suggest if you use patterns to use an invisible one with some sort of decoration, for example a small flower or patch of flowers.
While planning your layout I’d suggest using a transparent design but with an outline so u can see where you’ve already placed them. Then when you’re done you can change the design to completely transparent
I learned something new from It's Me Carraleigh! When a villager drops a book and you have to find who dropped it, you can click on the item in your pockets and it will give a description of the item as a hint. Had no idea you could do that, I awlays just talked to the first villager I saw, and if it wasn't their's, they would tell me who's it was. So thanks, Carraleigh! 😂
just note that it will only give you a tip if you have gained some amount of friendship with the villager who lost it. Otherwise it just says "someone lost this" and you still have to guess. Of course if it gives you a specific tip it does make it easier cuz each villager type has a different tip depending on what's lost (book or bag)
I feel like this a "no duh" moment, but if you buy 2 pipes you can fast travel around your island, and if you place one inside your house, you can fast travel to your house.

Some great ones, didn't know a couple! I only discovered the tarantula/scorpion one about 6 months ago as I was trying to get the stung achievement and it wouldn't bite me! I basically play with my finger constantly on the shoulder buttons haha. Also not sure if it's well know but if you have a pipe on your island you can escape wasps by jumping in it, or by running into the museum. The thing that really amazed me was just how many small furniture items can have custom fabric on them, like little blocks and lights and stuff, really upped my decorating game!
End scorpion/tarantula chases by opening a door or traveling through a character like Wilbur to get out of the area. You can also thwart a chase by running around to position objects between you and the beast, like a river, pond, fence, building, etc then just walk out of the frame. Not running around with a net at night is a good way to prevent chases.
A pretty obvious tip when shaking trees is to have a net out and shake from the front of the tree and ensure that the area in front of the tree (and the squares immediately left or right) are unoccupied (including weeds, branches or flowers). If a wasps nest drops you'll automatically look towards the nest and wasps released, and simply swinging your net will catch it safely without getting stung.
Also that transparent tile trick can also be used to control where new rocks spawn on your island by simply filling up the unoccupied tiles with the transparent tile except the areas where you want them to spawn. Also when mining the rocks, the shovel is the best tool to use. Ensure that all tiles around the rock are unoccupied and stand at the corner in relation to the rock. Dig holes immediately to the side and above/below which are not beside the rock in order to ensure that when your mine the rock you won't be pushed back. You can then ensure that your mining will ensure maximum results.
My favorite tip or trick requires the luck of having the stack of money crafting recipe. Time travel until you find a day that it's a special buy and stay on that day as long as needed to make as many bells as you want. I rolled back the time of day several times and ended up with a few million bells, more than enough for whatever I wanted to buy.
I tried this recently - had loads of money ready, the stack was a hot item, but the amount of money needed to make the stack was exactly the same as the selling price :(
@badgerjoey They must have patched it. As a hot item at the nook stop it used to sell for more than normal because the hot item always sells for more. Did they stop doing that? I haven't played for a few months.
@badgerjoey I will say they patched star shows. I used to be able to travel back in time to replay shooting stars but now you get a letter basically saying "nice try but no."
Also if it's night and you come across a villager (or several in some cases) staring intently at the ground near them you'll likely find a tarantula/scorpion there and they won't move until you catch it or get stung
I use blank spaces to keep weeds and flowers off my dirt paths 💕 it also stops fossils on paths (i have set path spaces near my museum they can spawn) Also the net aggro is the same with scorpions. I remember telling a few people about the net aggro on spiders and scorpions and they had no clue! I didn't know it wasn't common knowledge 😮

I'm playing since release and had no idea about the outside curtains of the house. That's awesome! The tarantulas and scorpions also only attack you if you run or walk fast with a net. It's super easy to catch them when you move towards them really slowly and always stop while the tarantula hisses or the scorpion shakes its stinger. I think they even patched this into New Leaf with the Welcome Amiibo update because it has become way easier to catch those evil little critters there, too, and I don't remember it being that way originally.

Secrets and Bells! I didn't know the tarantula one or the letter one or the curtain one or even the tree one.
the easiest way i found to get everyday furniture was by chopping down all non fruit trees and planting only six of em. one of it will give you a piece of furniture and its way faster to get it (you gotta be experienced in catching wasps tho bc its a 6/1 probability you will be bitten dkskskks
Definitely going to use that button trick with Flick. 😂 Dude, you've said the same thing 50 times already, just buy the bugs. 😂
I have played every version since Nintendo 64 and these are great tips!! Thanks!
I didn't know 9/10 of these 😮 Great vid!!!
Secrets. Man I loved that somersault tip! I’ve always seen that in your videos and was curious of how I could do it
The rainbow and shoulder button tips were new to me, thanks! (secret)
Cool tips
Also, if you have custom paths down, snowballs won’t spawn on them and they make the snowball smaller when roll over it
THANK YOU for the flower thing I had to freaking restart my island because the flowers were everywhere
Just learned about the curtains yesterday!
I genuinely didn't know most of these and have been playing since release!
I only don't know about the rainbow tree shake 🤩 thanks
Yea I'm going thru my game now n closing windows.... gunna do the rest when I get off work. I think it was 2 that I knee before this. Thank u for posting these secrets!
You don’t even need to hold the shoulder buttons down to speed up dialogue, just pressing once while they’re talking will do the trick
Thank you!
Ironic thing is after playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons since it debuted tonight was the 1* time I’ve ever seen the ghost or knew there where ghosts in the game…
During my latest ACNH play, I was wondering why I was getting more 100 bell coins from the trees than usual. It was thanks to the lovely double rainbow.
I have done the somersault before, but I didn't know about the horned hats! I'm going to try and get them, because I have found memories of playing on the gamecube
Maybe I missed something on the rainbow part but you can get 100 bells from shaking trees any time every day without a rainbow 🌈
Secrets. Only new info for me was the villager staring into trees. I had never learned that tip, although I have seen some doing it.
Wow, I didn’t know most of these secrets!!! 😮
Cannot wait to try the somersaults
8:36 I was playing animal crossing while watching this… I got stung by wasps
I know 2.8 of those secrets; the graveyard ghost, the stop tarantula chase, and the curtain thing but I did not know about the exterior curtain part of it so I only count that one as knowing 0.8 of the secret.
so that the curtains of the house outside are closed. you only have to close the curtains in the main room
Already knew about the ghost and flowers
4:50 WTF I had no idea
9:58 oh thank god
Secrets! There were actually a lot of secrets in this video that I didn’t know about! The last one is definitely a life saver , or should I say control saver. I’ve smashed that b button for so long I’m worried it’s gonna die, so thank you so much for that very awesome secret!
I just learned from this Video, that you don't need to have your swimsuit with you. Just save in a Design in your wand
thanks dude this helps
Hey, Hi Mayor Mori,
👋🏻😸👍🏻
" SECRETS "
& T/Y
✌🏻😸👍🏻
I'm playing since release and had no idea about the outside curtains of the house. That's awesome!
The tarantulas and scorpions also only attack you if you run or walk fast with a net. It's super easy to catch them when you move towards them really slowly and always stop while the tarantula hisses or the scorpion shakes its stinger. I think they even patched this into New Leaf with the Welcome Amiibo update because it has become way easier to catch those evil little critters there, too, and I don't remember it being that way originally.
Literally only JUST started playing 😅
