@@_TeeVee_that’s because most people have shit values/ethics and most people are in monogamous relationships. People who want a committed monogamous relationship/life partner and have discipline / sound morals will not cheat or find someone to replace. Trust. I worked with a guy years ago who was in a relationship (I wasn’t aware) and I had a huge crush on him, so was flirting with him all the time. We had a lot in common and got on really well, but once he picked up I was into him he started talking about his girlfriend a lot. Ive always been told I’m an above average attractive woman and his (now wife & mother of his kid) is older and average looking… but that didn’t matter. He wasn’t just gonna jump ship because I came along… why? Because he’s a good man. Good people don’t abandon the people they love to chase the hot new thing. But if she enjoys that treatment there's no issue lol. You guys XD. From what Destiny is saying this fell apart because of standard relationship problems, not as a necessary consequence of it being an open relationship. If open relationships were faulty in general, then NONE of them would be successful, yet if we look at the statistics plenty of them are (yes, you can google that, specifically you can check the Consensual Non-Monogamy fact sheet released by the american psychological association). There are even people who sign up to be a sex slave for their mistress and live perfectly happy lives, you can literally watch the documentaries on youtube. I mean if anything that's far worse, you're a communal sex slave because the mistress can rent you out to others.
But instead there is this kind of retarded backlash, where people think that anything outside of a trad relationship is doomed to failure, and how do we now know this for sure? Because of this single anecdote with Destiny, even though the community SHOULD know overwhelmingly by now not to judge whether or not something is true/false based on a single example.

I have no doubt she's insane when she's angry with him. Most women I've ever met or dated.
Destiny has said in the past that she's chill and smart and understanding.
The problem I've seen between them is actually a problem of Destiny's.
So many streams I've seen his avoidance of interacting with her when he's streaming or working or researching which is most of every day.
100% if a man doesn't put 50% of his day at home it will feel to the woman that they are just roommates and never spend time. That's true for the majority of women.
But if she plays the victim of everything I completely understand his frustration.
For example I was in a horrible abusive relationship with a women when I was 20 and she decided to put hands on me, literally hitting me with a pan, I responded with pushing her away from me on the third smack to the face.
Immediately she was acting like she was an abuse victim from being shoved back and running out of the house and leaving. If you heard her tell it, it was the focal point of her PTSD that haunts her to current day (15 years later)

Because he knows if he says that openly he'll have a bunch of people who already hate him jump down his throat and call him misogynist.
Which, personally, I don't see the point in appealing to people who already hate you. They're stupid, call them stupid. You're not saying they're stupid BECAUSE they're women, that would be sexist. They're just stupid and HAPPEN to be women.

He banned people for insulting his wife because he thought it was his position to defend his wife. Now, he sees that he was defending the snake in the garden - he was guarding the traitor thereby making himself a traitor to himself. Of course he feels extreme about it.

    • @FizzLeeague

@niggymonkey I'm not talking about what 'will work'. I made a lot of excuses for my ex because I wanted things to work. It's like self-gaslighting. I think it's called the sunk cost fallacy or something, but basically it can feel very difficult to walk away from something you've invested in a lot, and lots of people compromise themselves instead of ending the relationship.
So, I'm talking about real human psychology, not critiquing from a detached, exterior perspective. Will Smith made a very similar mistake, he hit a person to defend the honour of a woman that would never have done the same for him, making himself look like a simp and a chump.
Even famous people are susceptible to blindspots and betraying themselves. You don't have to agree with them or excuse their behaviour, but it is worthwhile to try at least to understand how it happens to protect yourself. I'm saying that Destiny's actions are comprehensible even if they aren't justifiable. Hopefully, in the future, he will have better boundaries in relationships and will be more loyal to his principles than his pussy.

The only thing he should've done differently imo is be less arrogant, so like for example, he should have told exactly zero people what his sword does, and he shouldn't have left any of the serious threats (like the MC) alive to come back later.
Also, I think that Bleach was unfortunately the least well-written of the big 3, because I think Kubo wasn't the most competent writer compared to the others, like he was good, but i think he's much more visually focused, as in Bleach was more about the visual spectacle than the actual story. It's crazy how he kind of acts like he's self aware of how he invites chaos and strife into his life through associating with unhinged people, and taking part in destabilizing activities like having an open relationship, marrying someone who is very young and idealistic, neglecting the boring parts of relationships which create the actual bond, not adequately protecting himself from potential threats such as by not getting a prenup and so on. Then he goes on to rationalize all of his behaviour in a very weak transparent way that apparently everyone in the world can see through except for him and he just does the same thing on repeat. Then he talks about how he does all of this because he sees the world in some kind of special way with no preconceived notions or biases, and its other people that are biased or unreasonable. Its nuts.
It's really annoying when he says the open relationship is good for him because he is the "exception" and it might not work for other people. You can't say you are the exception if it's never worked for you either. When you are retired and 90 years old with your wife of 50 years and you've had an open relationship the whole time, then you can say you are the exception if you want. Having a chaotic 5 year relationship that ends in divorce and probably a ton of drama, and potentially damaging financial consequences isn't "being the exception", its being an idiot. The open relationship might not even be the biggest problem in the relationship, but it makes no difference really when there are a million other problems piled on top. Saying the open relationship couldn't didn't contributed significantly is like saying you didn't hurt yourself when you wiped out on your motorcycle and broke your arm, because you also broke every other bone in your body falling down the stairs on the same day, so who knows what happened.

    • @deadzoneternity
      @deadzoneternity 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

Same could be said for monogamous relationships, how many monogamous relationships have you been in that failed, have you and everyone else in the world who remains married, marry the first person they were ever in a relationship with? No, so I guess no one has a successful relationship until they are 90 years old and been married for 50 years, which is very few people. So I guess successful relationships period are the exception, so doesn't really matter whether it's open or not, may as well just do what you want and hope you're the exception.
Or you know, not be retarded and recognize not everyone is you, and people have different wants, needs, and values, and a single rule for what will work doesn't apply to everyone equally, and finding something that works requires a bit of trial and error, especially when it involves other people who also have and entirely different mind and consciousness from you to deal with.

Remember, Destiny has a kid too.. something I've yet to see discussed is how this whole thing that has made Destiny a joke online is going to affect the kid when he finds out or gets bullied over it at school (if he hasn't already). Finding out your dad was in an cringey alternative "relationship" that ended up failing despite Destiny insisting it works for him as he is the exception to the rule is probably the equivalent to kids finding out their mom was on OF. Polyamory is so damaging to children just as divorce is. Children need stability in the home or else mental and emotional issues will develop. He already has to grow up without his father in the home and now this... let Destiny be a warning of the problems with poly.

No 'just as divorce' . A turbulent divorce will affect the children, but a fair one with caring parents for their children won't affect them that much. What messes up with children is the trauma of being in the middle of violence, physical or verbal or both. Good parents try their very best to keep the hard part away from them and find the moment to give them an explanation. Every couple is unique and you can't generalize.
