- omg what an amazing day of treasure hunting. I found some of the favorite antiques I have bought in a couple of years. Splott car boot sale was the first to open in my local area. I attended Thursday morning and the stuff that was on offer was nothing short of beautiful. It is safe to say I filled my boots and spent a fortune.
I am a UK reseller, an antique dealer and I buy and sell anything that catches my eye. The more weird and strange the better. I try to find unique one-off items that are not available on every corner.

I have known about 'Marrow Scoops' for maybe forty years; thank you for re-educating me that they are not for vegetables! One of those pieces of information that was 'lost with time'!
Thank you very much Elizabeth. I have seen people use marrow scoops for some real strange reasons including an ear wax remover with a small bone example lol.

I love all the garden stuff , I’ve collected things for my garden for a few years now , I’ve found many pieces for little money , and some I’ve payed a lot more for .
I just love your haul, you always find something spectacular. I liked especially the Art Nouveau lady on the wood trinket box, but the silver Jaguar is also glourious. The green stone with red flecks is probably bloodstone.

Can you imagine how much the things you found would go for in a London shop , I’ve looked in those shops the prices are mind blowing .
Here in little old Norfolk we have much more affordable prices .
Hi Walter.About 12 years i bought a group of marrow scoops at a local auction at what i thought was a very good price.I took them to a famous London west end auction house where they were accepted for entry into a special antique silver auction with a very nice estimate.Well on the day of the auction I was told they were withdrawn because one of the silver experts had doubts that the marrow scoops could be converted table spoons.Those scoops actually looked more genuine then the ones you have.The bowls on yours look a bit too wide actually to get in a bone to scoop the marrow out.Sorry about that but we are always learning and sometimes its the hard way

Love the silver e type jag should do well on that one The bone marrow spoon the proportions worry me a little do you think it's a genuine peace or a reworked spoon as there are some unscrupulous dealers who would rework a regular old spoon because of the huge difference in price
Contact the jaguar owners club based in Filton Bristol, they would love that silver model!

Be careful straightening the weather vane it's bent where the bolt hole is so not much metal there, it could easily snap.
I love the garden bits you got, I can totally understand why you kept them, I would have done the same..😃 When you said marrow scoop I thought you meant the vegetable but you meant bone marrow...eurgghhh..fascinating to learn about though.Absolutely fabulous mix of items Walter. Walter, recall seeing quite a few sterling silver sports cars, etc, for sale in watch/gift shops in Switzerland a few years back, might be worth researching Swiss outlets etc.
