A true classic. A frontal assault was an invitation to a quick and gruesome end - assuming the DM played the giant forces competently. Stealth, superior tactics, and perhaps a bit of luck were needed for success. This was classic Dungeons and Dragons; foolish play was punished without mercy. I loved it.
great. I quite like the 3 giants modules. Just a quick note for pronunciation for your next one. The Norse word "jarl" (in English "earl" ) is pronounced with a /j/ phoneme and should sound like "yarl". good job as always.
LOL, I already recorded my review of the G2 Mod. I still need to upload it. So, too late. I pronounced the "J" in Jarl instead... Just kidding. I did pronounce it as 'yarl', but I may have slipped up once or twice and pronounced it as 'arl' (the DA0 way) instead.
And I think that it's Steading is pronounced "STEDing" rhymes with "instead" stead·ing /ˈstediNG/ nounSCOTTISH•NORTHERN ENGLISH a farm and its buildings; a farmstead. "an isolated steading on the boundary of two parishes"
G1 was a VERY pricy module for its time, for a 4 page module. Dark Tower for Judge's Guild, was similarly priced, and that was priced about the same, about $4, give or take. Regardless, it was/is a fantastic adventure, lethal for any PCs who believe they can murder their way through it. Unless they are OP, that is. Personally, I have always pronounced Drow like brow, or Owww!
I went a slightly different route as I run my own world build, it's harvested Greenwood trees. Almost impossible to burn for years after cutting, 100% impossible here because of the rains. And the Treants a few miles away hate them for it. So far my players haven't stumbled upon the possible allies here...
I guess everyone has their own approach. My players were thinking of using fireballs to burn the steading, but then I made the mistake of metagaming, and said if you do that, then every monster will exit the steading, and then you will have to fight them all at once. (This is before I knew about mortared wooden fortresses)

Droh ? Droww ? I think I first pronounced it as Droww. Sometime later, I switched to Droh, but I can't remember why.
