Congrats to Pluto, who's very successfully playing someone with low charisma. Every hesitation you make when you talk, like you're awkward, fits your stats, but makes it fun and charming in its own way. Very good roleplaying !
I'm loving these and look forward to watching these every Friday. This campaign is now my background listening at work. Especially for a non-professional production, you guys are doing amazing; keep it up. I also love that Jill's cat ears are getting bigger and bigger with each episode, lol. Love and Aloha from Hawaii! Also, you know what I think would be great? If you guys did a 15-20 minute "debrief" of each episode talking about the game mechanics involved in the episode as a teaching tool so we can learn from watching practical examples from the episode!
She's purr-fect. I am by NO MEANS someone who enjoys cats, and she makes a tabaxi look good. The Oxventure, the eurogamer equivalent and even DiceBreaker have nothing on this. Thank you Dungeon Dudes for existing. ❤️
I recently got caught up on Shadows of Drakkenheim and seeing Jill play a completely different character completely throws me off lol she will always, in my heart, be Veo Senja.
Yeah it’s just another one of the nerd girls who is “oh so quirky “ she’s literally always like that I’d imagine, reveling in her mind at how unique and cool she imagines herself to be in the RP that is her daily life
Just getting into D&D and Dungeon Dudes has been an amazing resource! I’ve also been checking out a few campaigns on some other channels, and I look forward to yours the most! Absolutely the most entertaining and natural. The DM should start awarding Inspiration points; these players bring the characters ALIVE. Bravo.
It’s great that as a new player you found this channel! Out of all the D&D/RPG channels I’ve watched this one is the most realistic & natural. So many of the ones I’ve seen have encounters which are obviously scripted to make sure they are more entertaining. While all the decoration, costuming, props & scripted encounters on other channels can be entertaining to watch…they cause many new players to expect all gameplay to be unrealistically like that. But channels like this one shows what good gameplay looks like. However even though it’s extremely realistic…if you don’t have a good DM as well as a good group of players your gameplay either won’t be as good or at least won’t flow as smoothly. A good DM can keep the game flowing well despite having a couple new or bad players & a good group of experienced players can keep help a new a game flowing with an inexperienced DM. Hope you find a good DM & group to enjoy learning to play the game.
I love the constant gag of Pluto's armor just getting covered in horrible muck, grime and everything inbetween when all he wants is to be a shiny, noble knight lol
I haven't played D&D in like 20 years or so....got AD&D stuff and wizards+priest spell compendium (~10 books, shittons of spells) in my bookshelf. When I found out about the Dudes, I kept digging into my old D&D rules and online SRD and am sloooooowly getting addicted again. Great job guys....this series is great on audio-only too while traveling. Keep on rolling (the dice)!
This is such awesome entertainment! You have such a charismatic group and the battlemaps are incredible, I wish I could have a dwarven forge collection, looks amazing.
Yeah I've been finding myself looking foward to this episode a lot, excited to see what happens in Drakkenheim. Really like this setting, makes me want to use it in a campaign. Also love these players, one of the first D&D streams that the players seem to know to play D&D well... haven't facepalmed once watching combat like I usually do with other campaigns. Also should turn on subs on twitch ( like take my money already damnit)
Sebastian needs a cloak! I am loving these videos guys... makes my week. I can't wait to see all the fan art that will come as this is sure to become a hit series!!!!!
Cloaks are cumbersome and would hook, drag and get in the way (especially if he tries manipulating the playing pieces). He might get away with a smaller cape, but it probably would still interfere in things.
Awesome group, marvelous DM (I love the way Marty describes enemies and the surrounding)... I'm so impressed... You are great, I am totally up for the "Jackson's Pussycat crows"...
The camera placement for this one is excellent, loved the way the map was displayed. It could be better if there were zooms and what not, but the production value is very good. Love it!
Just found you guys. Love your gameplay. Very witty bunch! Y'all get plenty lol's from me throughout each episode. Monty, you're a top-tier DM. Thanks for the fine work & entertainment!
No dogs here! Hyenas are not members of the dog or cat families. Instead, they are so unique that they have a family all their own, Hyaenidae. There are four members of the Hyaenidae family: the striped hyena, the “giggly” spotted hyena, the brown hyena, and the aardwolf (it's a hyena, not a wolf).
Feliform is a suborder which includes cats. While not exactly the same species that are closer in relation to cats. They split between hyenas and cats is similar to the split between humans and apes.... Even though we are more closer related to chimps and bonobos.
Love the Dwarven Forge sets, love the Map of Drakkenheim, love playing Mordheim as I listen to this broadcast! Thanks for the entertainment guys and gals!
I am loving this series. The situations and challenges are so varied... and every session has some tense combat that could turn badly with just a few bad dice rolls.
The language coming from the Falling Fire preachers gives me such shivers. This is the language used to convince people to sacrifice themselves for some divine goal. I guess this makes me a suspicious fellow, but I'm definitely intrigued to see where they go.
I am really enjoying this campaign Monty, Kelly, Jill and Joe. I have only ever played D&D campaigns with one DM. That DM watches Critical Role on a weekly basis, as do I. I look forward to your sessions every week now. I have watched everything you have made and learned a great deal. Thanks.
This series brings a lot of joy into my day. Kelly's "hot dog" joke around the 50 minute mark actually caused a laugh that made my own dog stare at me like "you're losing it man."
Loved how the Milestone is tied to them accomplishing character development too. Annnd the fact that it created a great cliffhanger was prooobably a factor too 😉 "I saw my Dad and leveled up" had me LOL'ing. Really liking this series so far, can't wait to watch the next 3 seasons 😁
Such great DM'ing, very engaging even just to watch. Plus the chemistry between players felt so natural and effortless. Overall, very entertaining and I'll definitely be back to see the next session. And of course, the one after that and the one after that and the one.....
Right? I feel like the Falling Fire vs Sacred Flame is like Christianity vs Judaism in the early days, which makes it that much funnier that we're calling the falling fire a cult
@@DungeonDudes I can understand. I'm happy to see to see that the campaign is up though. Especially since the campaign seem to have an interesting story :)
1:05:05 reminds me of the bridge riddle where you have to figure out how to get a fox, a chicken, and grain/chicken feed across a gap without anything dying or losing any food. I think it was also in poptropica. Did any else realize the relation too the riddle?
Great show. I'm very impressed and find the role play and tactical decision making of non actors a refreshing change from the over the top antics of critical role. Well played and well DMd.

Watching this way late, obviously, but I've been struck in this and the first episodes with how good a DM Monty is. The players are really good, too, but I like the atmosphere he sets - challenging, but you always get a sense that he loves it when his characters get cool moments and wants them to do well, without making it seem easy. Really good social intelligence and something to learn from and emulate.
Your setting REALLY reminds me of Anke-Morpork. that aside, ( and I love diskworld), even without the similarities, this is a very enjoyable series. when I finish with it, I will have to see what else you have released.

She thought that was crazy, so I guess I hadn't told her about how the heavy homebrew group I DM for has a character in it that can, at any point, achieve 4,200 feet of movement for a turn. If that sounds crazy to you, just imagine creating enemies that can fight a party of 4 characters equally insane.

Especially considering his own charisma is so high.
No wonder his nobleman character has to go on "sappy" adventures with his charisma! 😅
I agree! It also makes the moments when he makes a very intelligent suggestion is shocking & helps to draw me further into the game.
The mental image of 2 super swift and stealthy people walking around with this big lumbering oaf in full plate mail between them is hilarious.
they should just wrap pluto in bubble wrap and carry him :P
Monty does a great job representing how scary fighting gnolls should be.
There’s good reason why nobody likes gnolls.
Minsc agrees. Boo and I despite smelly Gnolls.
Gnolls? Like gnolls from World of Warcraft.
20:25 - So, we have lion, scarecrow and tin man...
bruh...I didn't think of that. Also, I'd like this, but that wouldn't be fun
The audio is better in this episode thanks 🤙👍
Sticks is a great character, that whole scene was super funny.
Sticks was my favorite character this episode. When he grinned at Pluto and told him to take a seat next to him, I was so happy.
