The song Severed by Mudvayne is the jam. One of the best songs of the early 2000's.

This whole album is Goood. the upload quality is bad but the CD sounded good. Mudvayne’s rhythm section is super super good and deserve more listens.
I just pulled up the song in tidal.. it sounds basically the same. This definitely has a low bit rate issue and is smooshing transients, etc, a little bit, but the basic idea is the same. the mix isn't very good imo.

Yeah this was a bad quality upload. I really suggest "Death Blooms" by Mudvayne, such a powerful song with a heavy and beautiful sound.

Wow, was NOT expecting a rant on this one! 😅 I guess the requester sent you an unofficial file that he figured wouldn't get blocked. It does suck this would be your intro to the band, Dave. Hopefully, Mudvayne will get a redemption visit to the channel. Edit: The engineer on this was Grammy award-winning producer David Bottrill, who has worked with Tool, King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, and a ton of others. As he wasn't exactly new to engineering, it makes me wonder if this was the sound Mudvayne wanted. They're not exactly known for being the most orthodox band.
Hearing this on a proper sound system makes all the way difference in the world..Sounds like crap on a little tablet or laptop speaker...Mudvayne itself was a cool band and dropped the Slipknot make-up after the first album and the drummer and bassist are bad ass and Chad's vocals are a love it or hate it situation lol ✌️🤘😎🧐

Yeah, I'm not sure what's up with the audio quality. The link you provided sounds better on my end than it did coming from this video. I'm using Sennheiser headphones and a DAC amp though...so I dunno. Sounds almost mono from this video.
As people said, terrible upload....i couldn't believe how bad that sounded.... that said, kind of surprised by the request choice. I feel like the stuff off their debut would be more up your alley. It's a little more on the progressive metal side, and to me, there production was at its best, as was their instrumentation. As an added bonus Ryan Martini is at his best with ridiculous bass lines.
I’ve got not falling and happy? In the que as well. Hopefully the quality is better. Should be. Not falling is the music video. Which I do try to avoid. But sometimes you can’t.

Now i can't hear anything but the shitty mix. tbh, it did sound weird and "dead" before Dave said anything. But I think that tells me I'd like the song even more than my first impression.

Was coming here to say it's a bad quality upload, but everyone already was on top it haha. What's worse, is that yt also runs its own compression on whatever you upload. It's why I hate watching new release videos by bands on yt. I go to iTunes and I have my account settings to download the highest bitrate, and the hi-res lossless audio version. Even steaming on those platforms sucks because they are naturally set to stream lower quality for data savings, unless you physically change the settings.
Very unfortunate that this was your introduction to Mudvayne as they are very talented musicians, especially Ryan Martinie on bass and Matt McDonough on drums. As others have said, this is just a bad audio file. Hopefully you'll be able to give them another shot. Cheers..... (edit) What you said at the end is exactly what happened. I´m really upset with this reaction, this song doesn´t deserve it! I have this album, and I can assure you that the audio quality is a thousand times better. This happens when you don't listen to official channels, but it's what you always prefer... It's the risk you end up taking, and it ends up ruining the reaction of a very good song...
The censoring really ruins it.
The song does nothing for me. It just lays flat.
