Man talk about a throwback to my teen years. And Ryan is definitely my favorite member of this band, he's a beast on the bass.

While writing this album, their drummer had a a serious ATV accident that left him hospitalized. He said he went through physical therapy and basically had to relearn how to drum.

LOVED Mudvayne back in the day, and still do!

Ryan is a monster bass player. That's one of the major things that always set mudvayne apart from other nu-metal bands. Ryans style is technical and he runs the fretboard in most of their songs, not just slowly adding bottom end only

patiently awaiting the day someone with patreon suggests something from their debut album, i feel like stuff like death blooms and severed could be much more up your alley

I really enjoy your insight into the music. Funny you should mention the bassist stealing the show, you should check out their first album, LD50! Lots of interesting bass work on there. Death Blooms, Severed, Pharmacopeia, Prod and pretty much everything else on there.

There's actually a massive old Tesla tower out on that farm, and it's pumping pure AC current into their equipment via an adapter. :)

I'll relook if you have reviewed it but death blooms is one of my favorites by mudvayne. You'll prolly laugh again at the music video but can't wait to see you review it.
Edit: This is a good song but not the best

3:15 theres no doubling on his voice or layering its one vocal layer with maybe some reverb or something

The gripe with the amps being in the shots was funny 😂 I’m guessing it’s because of a non musician directors choice to have cheesy dramatic settings for the band. Although in saying that no amps makes it look like a play through video 😅 and yes this bands rhythm section is so good!

I was into MV back in the day They definitely got a bit more commercial and less technical over time but a lot of bands that find success do Ryan Martini is one of the most underrated bassist in metal and the drumming Imo is Danny Carry level ✌️🤘🧐

LOL when you talk about the amps... I used to play in a band with a dude who helped set up our drums and monitors who used to be a roadie for Slayer and he said most of the stacks of speakers were just empty boxes, totally unnecessary apart from looking awesome apparently. Even though only like 1/4 of the amps were active it was still so loud he said stepping in front of one felt like a gut punch.

Your friend is absolutely 100% correct. Most of those stacks of amps you see onstage are cardboard boxes painted to look like amps and cabinets. Almost all of what you hear in the crowd is coming from the FOH speakers. Most artists these days don't even use cabinets on stage, they go directly to the board or their cabinets are offstage in the sidefills. Honestly the only time I'll even use my cabinet is if it's a very small venue and the FOH is crap. Otherwise I'll use my SansAmp and go direct into the board. From their I can use wedges or my IEMs to hear myself, and the board pumps out my bass to the FOH Speakers.

Never heard of a generator party ? 😂 Kyuss used to play generator parties in the middle of the desert so the video isn’t completely idiotic but I get ya

I don’t think the speaker cabinets out in the field are any more ridiculous than having a wall of amps that aren’t plugged in on stage

  • @JAYZIGGY5
    @JAYZIGGY5 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I wish people wouldn't request the videos. They're just a distraction unless it's a live performance. I've never seen this video but it was ridiculous. I love the song, I love this band. Ryan Martini is an elite bassist. There's is nothing simple about anything he does. I've covered this song many times. Can I play it the way he plays it? Absolutely not lol. I've tried. He taps the hell out of this in some goofy made up tuning he usually uses and I'm not all that great at tapping. But anyway, without that video I think your score would've been a little higher. 🤷‍♂️

Mudvaynes a great band but the thing is pretty much all their official music videos or cut and edited missing entire parts sometimes

100% not their best song IMO, most popular and commercial friendly sure. I dig the song, but they have better songs and more complex songs.

The video is just entertainment dude, not that serious. How do we know that those amp/speaker companies didn’t sponsor the video production as long as they were featured in it? If you really think about it you could find something “nonsensical” in just about any music video. Just my thoughts on it and I dig the channel. 🤘

I think you should react to L.D. 50 imo it's their best work. Dig or Death Blooms would be great a start.

This song is definitely more commercial but this is a very different Mudvayne from their first few albums. That LD 5.0 album is an absolute behemoth and very uncommercial.
