Matt Cameron's drumming is great on that whole album!
Underrated album
I know it's unusual, but King Animal was my most listened-to Soundgarden album, so I have a soft spot for all the songs on it. A Thousand Days Before included, naturally. Nice to see a reaction and review of it! Thanks, DH!
Underrated album
I particularly love all the Kim thayil penned songs on the album
you need to hear "Cold bitch" it's one of the greatest vocal performance from Chris
@@ShininDays crazy thing is that I believe Chris hated his vocals on that. Insane
@@mathewking4959 if that's the case ... that's crazy it might one of the heaviest vocals he produced from what is accessible to the general public
Yay, happy to see this new SG reaction video in my feed! You were spot on with the review. This is one of my faves and might be my fave off of King Animal (their last official album, sniff). Apparently this was developed from a demo during the Down on the Upside days (mid-90s), so it kind of connects their pre-breakup and reunion periods. I hope you get to do more tracks from that album. Relistening to this one also brought a tear to my eye as it would've been Cornell's 60th birthday a few days ago. :( Thanks for continuing to do honest SG reactions, and thanks for all your wonderful content!
Thank you!
There is a live version from the artist den that is really good. Chris ups his vocals bigtime. This my favorite song from king animal. Parts has that Beatles sound to it. Rip chris, thx for review.
Never saw them live, but I DID see The Artist Den at an I-Max theater and it was AWESOME!
I will love a reaction of power trip by soundgarden!
Oh, yes, please!
Awkward in a good way is a really good description of Kim Thayil. It’s a bitter sweet album for me because Chris’s voice lost a bit of its clarity around the third Audioslave album. He’s been my favorite singer of the Seattle bands for a long time because of his insane range and scope of his career, and there’s an indescribable quality to his voice especially in his higher distortion , idk maybe the tonality but it resonates with me. Not a bad album by any means, just not the best for a swan song album.
My opinion aside, I appreciate learning about music and the beat count is important especially when dealing with a band like Soundgarden who notoriously use their dad time signatures and other musical oddities.
Decent song, but I actually enjoyed the review better than the song.
Your review of their song “ Slaves and Bulldozers” is how I found your channel in the first place. Almost no one, who has musical training, has broken that song down which is stupid because it’s a masterpiece.
Good stuff, thx man
Blood On The Valley Floor is my favorite song on this album. I do like this song. It makes me feel like belly dancing, even though I am not a belly dancer. ha. Have you ever heard Black Rain by Soundgarden. I think you should react to that. It was written from the BadMotorFinger era but didn't make it on the album. They touched it up after they reunited and released it in 2010. It's got a great groove. More in the stoner rock genre. I love it.
This album is so underrated. Great show as usual. 🤘🏽
I’d love to see you react to Kristi or Earache My Eye.
Yes
It’s got a kinda John Lennon Beatles feel to it. Kind of reminds of Across the Universe in a way.
Amigo, en vivo suena de la san puta este temón!!!!
Good

I was not a big fan of this album. It just didn't feel like Soundgarden to me.
Not a big fan of this album but this is a great tune. Sounds kinda like a "Down on the Upside" outtake.
