I love these aesthetic but I’d love it more if it supported graphics cards that weren’t just the blower style. There’s enough space between the bottom of the case and where a card would sit and with those risers you could add ventilation and a set of magnetic filters for a standard GPU.
Hahahaha i hate days like that. I was an Electrical Engineer for a big automotive company in a former life. I can remember having been called to a machine because the barcode scanner wasnt working..... 6hrs later and loads of my hair (which i had at the time) pulled out.... realised that something had fell off the machine inside the guards and was just say lying on the ctrl key on the keyboard.... school boy error...needless to say i made a totally new fault up when i reported it...but me and the lad who was working on the machine still talk and laugh about it to this day lol
This, is beauty of the Amiga in all of it's glory! It's so pretty, it makes me cry when i remember that amiga's are dying, but the community keeps it alive! THE COMMODORE AMIGA, NEVER DIED!
Loved it. Would be cool if they could compile a recent version of a web browser for it. Must be possible, but how many people would use it :) I'm an single board computer freak. I'm also always amazed about what they can do for the tiny size they've got. It's like back in the 80's with different brands making non compatible systems running their own software. I help developing Armbian. So on all of them you could run the same OS and software. Except the Raspberry Pi, we leave that one, they are the worst SBC'"s, but got the biggest name. Thanks for filling my sleepless night. Cheers, NicoD.
What a nice system! I am really looking forward to getting my Vampire - my A500 in my Checkmate case is patiently waiting for it... I am curious if the ZorroII slot will work with a Vampire installed - I have heard differing opinions on that.
That was badass. I wonder if that modernized Amiga OS called AmiKit would work on it. I love and miss the old GUIs from the 90s and early 2000s. I would love to have a build like that to play around on.
@@TheRetroCollective In all seriousness, it does make me laugh now about all the "rivalry" given how much interchange there was between staff and ownership of Atari and Commodore. I just notice that in your video description you forgot to mention one of the musics you used in the video : Forest by Frédéric "Elmobo" Motte (music from the game Fury of the Furries on Amiga).
Good choice this is an great video game sound track ;-)
I love these aesthetic but I’d love it more if it supported graphics cards that weren’t just the blower style. There’s enough space between the bottom of the case and where a card would sit and with those risers you could add ventilation and a set of magnetic filters for a standard GPU.
I'd love to see how it runs Lightwave ;)
Amazing to see quake running on an Amiga.
This is hilarious! Must have felt like you were cursed ;)
I bet that Atari boot thing had u stumped for a bit so
Funny 😂 great video
Great Amiga. A Vampire would be realy great...
There is a version of Netsurf for AmigaOS 3 I believe, it has better features (better but not perfect compatibility with most websites) but slower.
What a nice system! I am really looking forward to getting my Vampire - my A500 in my Checkmate case is patiently waiting for it...
I am curious if the ZorroII slot will work with a Vampire installed - I have heard differing opinions on that.
Good job you didn't have your "Atari ST cupboard" at the time. That thing may have found itself placed oh-so-gently in it 😆
Great series !
That was badass. I wonder if that modernized Amiga OS called AmiKit would work on it. I love and miss the old GUIs from the 90s and early 2000s. I would love to have a build like that to play around on.
Amazing finish of the project there.
So is the Checkmate your new favourite Amiga?
Despite your anti-Atari bias, I have been enjoying your videos so much that I have become an Official Cave Dweller. :-)
Thank you Hamish! We'll get to some more Atari kit soon, they are after all what Amiga grew out of
@@TheRetroCollective In all seriousness, it does make me laugh now about all the "rivalry" given how much interchange there was between staff and ownership of Atari and Commodore. I suppose it is just because humans are naturally tribal. Anyway - it is nice to see all this stuff together with a clearer look and a fuller picture. I look forward to much more to come :-)
