Another great video! I love the way y’all endure every struggle, embracing the adventure. It’s awesome to see Davis is growing into a courageous sailor. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. Happy Holidays!!!
We hope to inspire others to reach out for their dreams as well! By sharing our experiences and what it costs to do this, hopefully it gives some real data that is useful for others to plan as we did. Thanks for following along!
Yeah-another awesome video! When we rented catamarans in the BVI we used Transderm SCOP (scopolamine) transdermal system 1.5 mg for seasickness. The patches are a prescription from a doctor and are terribly expensive but each patch lasts for 3 days. They really work and are absolutely AMAZING!
We have tried just about everything for it. Some time things work, this time nothing seemed to help. Dealing with the worst, makes the other stuff even better! Thanks for following along!
Yeah my wife is worried about sea sickness. I will say your journey still looks beautiful! We are starting to look at what the trip from key west to houston looks like. Hopefully not as bouncy as your video!
Merry Christmas to you as well! We may get to see some snow in the south island as it always has some caps in the Southern Alps! Thanks for following our journey!
Curiously, I have done that passage many times, and never had a bad one. 🤞 You seemed to leave knowing that you would have a headwind near NZ which I don't understand.
Speaking to New Zealanders in Fiji, Everyone said that weather windows are very narrow and we need to decide to either take a front in the beginning of the passage or near the end. We had been waiting for a few weeks for a good window and with the Cyclone season fast approaching, we took the window we did along with 70+ other boats. Forecasters that we hired and even the rally forecasters said that the window was a good one, but that we might have to motor for a day or so as the front passed. The group out of Tonga actually had to heave to for over 24 hours due to a second front that came through. Luckily, we arrived faster than expected and missed it!

I second that, Rob always has a positive attitude!

We are going to have so much to do in New Zealand, especially since we never planned on coming here. Just our arrival was epic!
