    Great video.. i checked and both hoses are warm at operating temp.
    i have heat initially with the car warmed up, ony for a few seconds before it turns cold. Also when i turn the AC button on, the car starts shaking violently for a moment.. I'm wondering if it's my belt, but it seems rather tight and in good condition. I might change it anyway, and clean the throttle body. I also have no cold AC whatsoever.
    I believe no leaking, and no air in line. Thanks
    1997 Camry. The AC button is flashing.

      Coolant level ok? loss of heat, that could be 1st issue. A/c switched draws a lot of power, engine should rev up to compsensate for this, sensor near the Throttle shoul turn "ON" once the a/c button is hit, to bump up the engine RPM. As the a/c cycles, you shoud hear the engine speed incease, this is normal. Belt would not casue a slow down, unless you have a tensioner or engine pulley starting to fail. [bearing] No A/C, so many possible problems. Loss of Refridgerant, compressor N/G, failed switch, blown fuse, etc.

    Thanks for this video.. I tried this after watching your video as my car (Vauxhall Agila 2008 not warning up, the heating system stopped working after replacing the radiator). It was bringing out cold air from the vents.
    I checked the temperature of the 2 lines after warming the engine for about 30mins; surprisingly the 2 lines are cold.
    Please what could be the issue?
    1. The air fan is working as checked with the heater resistor
    2. The thermostat is working
    3. Reservoir coolant level is between low and high
    So what could probably be the problem again? Please help me

      Air lock in system, which can cause no flow thru the core. With the engine cold, remove radiator cap/expansion cap, start engine and let it run. Watch for flow thru the expanson tank or radiator. See any air bubbles? Another thing, I know this on Toyota's, there is a bleed screw on certain engine, Search your make/model and see if there is a bleed screw that needs to be opened to release air from the system. Stumpr1......let me know what you find.

    This can be correct but not always , depends on a vehicle/heater core model . Sometimes , there are valves that are involved in releasing of the flow of water in and out .

      Correct, so many Older vehicles had shut off valves. Then mfgs got rid of them and then, added them back in.....geez. Have to check make and model to see if it has a valve. Cheers! Stumpr1

    What if? Between radiator and heater core I have a vacuum-operated valve. If the valve fails and stays closed, wouldn’t that malfunction cause the exact same hi-lo temp differences on those in-out hoses?

    • @stumpr1

    Could you also help clarify which house goes where? I'm wondering if someone bypassed the hoses by reversing them..
    On my 97 Camry the top hose goes down under the engine somewhere, and the bottom hose is connected where the top hose of the radiator meets the top of the engine.

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1  หลายเดือนก่อน

      the way you tell me how the hoses are attached, that seems wrong. The upper heater core hose should come from the aea in and around the thermostat housing or in some vehicles, off the top of the water pump, as these areas are your where the coolant is it hottest. 97 Avalon 1mz-fe v6 3.0L
    Back story-so I back flushed my heater core until water ran clean then I hooked the inlet line back onto the coolant system and continued to push water through the heater cores return line until I seen it flowing clean back out of the pipe the return line connects to then vise versa yet when everything is connected with the car warmed up, there's absolutely no heat with max heat settings and the heater core return hose is not burning hot. I don't remember exactly but when doing the flush i used the dollar tree toy that looks like a giant pencil that sucks up and squirts water and it didn't need a lot of pressure to push the water through.
    Question - what would be stopping me from getting heat like even if the core was a little clogged i would eventually get some heat but it flowed through easily by hand with the squirter

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have good flow thru the core, and it seems like you do, you could have a BLEND DOOR that is NOT fully closed to direct/allow MAX air to flow thru/over the heater core. Are both heater core lines close in temps? when you grab them. Keep the fan off, get the engine to OP temp. grab the hoses [careful their hot] are they somewhat equal? If there is a small difference...thats normal. But if there is a large temp difference, you could very well have a blocked here core. Even 30% blockage, is enough flow loss to cause low heat into the cab.

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like Zero heat? Does your Avalon have a heater core shut off valve, which would be located inline, on the Heater hose that flows INTO the heater core. I am not sure if your car has this, most I've seen are vacuum activated and acutally shuts the flow of coolant off to the heater core. Whe the fan is on med or high, set it too defrost only. Now check all your other vents, do you have air blowing on the floor, side vents, dash vents? Change to all different air flow settings, do all your settings of air flow direction, work? Do you have a cabin air filter in the vehicle? I shall search your car type out and see what else I can come up with.

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      your car has a cabin filter, remove it and see anything changes. Is it dirty? PLugged?

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      BTW......I have a 2006 Camry XLE version. 48,000kms Check my channel and you'll see it. It was mint until the hail storm. This car has never seen snow and is factory stock, right down to the battery, brakes, tires, etc.

    • @stumpr1
      @stumpr1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      your car has a heater core valve, from what I just read. Valve might be the issue as well. As this shuts flow off to the heater core. And yes, they can be bypassed.
