    Hi, this is the best gluten free cake ever, thank you. Would I be able to use the recipe to make cupcakes?

    • @MOMables

      Yes you can! Make sure to grease the cupcake pan well (i prefer to use liners) and 20-22 min, until a toothpick when inserted in the middle comes out clean.

    Hello Laura.
    Tomorrow we're celebrating my son's girlfriend's Birthday and she has a condition called Auto Immune decease and her digestive system does not allow her to endulge in gluten or dairy foods, so I found your recipe while scrolling through in TH-cam and I am super excited to bake this cake for her, It's currently in the oven as I'm typing and I will most definitely let you know what the results are! I gotta confess I tried the cake batter from the bowl and WoW.... it tasted heavenly!!!! It's 10:48 PM right now, I am falling asleep🤣
    But I can't wait to taste the cake. This batch yielded more than what I was expecting, so I am also baking Cupcakes! 🤩

      Que tal Laura 😃 Too late😀 I tried it with lemon juice as I makea chocolate cake with lemon juice (a recepi by barbara cousins) and I get a great result, however, using lemon juice with your cake resulted in an unpleasant bicarbonate of soda after taste. The cake did rise and did look awesome, unlike the cake I make, which is more dense. I have changed some of thr recepi to suit all my allergies. I use lemon as I suffer with candidas albicans, however, I'll try it following your recepi to the letter and will report back to you as im super grateful to hear back from you. .gracias por tu respuesta. Hi, would you be so kind to clarify that xanthan gum segment to me?
    I am watching the video with subtitles and no sound, so maybe they had something wrong in them. Should I buy flour without it, then add it? If I cannot find the gumless flour and the gum separately, is it ok to use them pre-mixed, or will that be bad?
    Thank you in advance :D

One Compliments from Safeway, has White corn flour, tapioca starch, modified potato starch, carboxymethyl cellulose and xantham gum. Second one is by XO Baking Co., also bought at Safeway and has cassava flour, unmodified potato starch, organic coconut flour and xantham gum. On the box of the second one says I can use 1:1 replacement. It's the only brands I've found so far where I live.

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ObscuredReality The flour is definitely the culprit that the batter was a thick glob. Flour #1 is very rich in starch and #2 is mostly starch and coconut flour which is 10x more absorbent than typical all-purpose flours. For the sake of the video's length, I cannot go into all of this in detail which is why I do cover it in the blog post and always, always, always, link the flour I use (Bob's Red Mill 1:1 ap gluten-free flour mix) which is easy to find in nearly all US grocery stores and easily on Amazon online. That flour, while it has starch, it is rice-based and performs incredibly well in every single recipe I share (I am not sponsored or paid by them but I am just as frustrated with gluten-free recipes not turning out). I hope this helps!

      Same here. I followed the recipe exactly. My first batch was like the thickest brownie batter you can imagine. Thinking I must have made a measurement error, I tried again. This time, halfway through combining the wet and dry, I stopped. The batter tasted good, so I stopped there. I think my all-purpose, gluten free flour must be the problem. I wish you mentioned what flour to use for this recipe. I used cassava flour and it didnt work. Wasted so many ingredients((

      Sorry for that! But it's in the description and also in the recipe to use gluten-free all-purpose flour.

    I was hoping this recipe would be great but the amount of sugar (cause for cancer) scared me. It might tastes great but it is not healthy to be honest.

      Chocolate cake is not supposed to be healthy, nor it should be something you eat every day. It's something that one eats from time to time. My recipe is an alternative for people who can't eat gluten, egg or dairy but wants to enjoy a slice of cake occasionally.

      You can swap the vegetable oil with coconut oil in the recipe (in the description) and make sure to use almond chocolate milk. The vegetable shortening can be swapped with soy-free margarine but it might affect the texture of the frosting.
