    My problem with bullies is that whenever I punched the bully back, they would go cry to the teacher and their parents and putting me in trouble.

      that's why i didnt let up till they couldn't cry anymore. got in trouble twice for standing up to bullies... only twice. the teachers and principal asked why i was always fighting. i locked eyes and told them, "i don't tolerate bullying. i won't let it slide by." they asked me why i was hitting them. my reply every single time, "i only defend myself. not once do i start something." got in trouble twice. had 8 different bullies through school. the school system stopped punishing me. but even if they did punish me, i would not have stopped standing up for myself just because i was getting into trouble. don't back down even if they cry to their parents and the school. send the message. i did. I'm now 21... it does work.

      if that is a problem for you, i feel sorry for you. had one pull a knife on me only to get it in his left ass cheek.... you learn how to defend yourself properly and it won't matter if they bring a weapon. hell i just turned 22 last month. you could point a gun in my face all you want. won't phase me. a gun is nothing more than a tool. same with a knife. I'm proficient in using many types of both. grew up a white boy in the ghetto... trailer trash don't even fit in there... so yeah... rethink how hard you got it. if i could survive. so can you, man. you got this.

    And this is why I love Gunny. He's so brutally honest it's amazing. And this is also why I should be able to punch back a bully. And now they teach us to run away and not protect our rights by ourselves. They say "let the teachers take care of it" but the bullies never from this. The only way that a bully will learn is if you beat his ass and show him that you're not to be messed with.

      ued to be the kid who would lead other kids up hills into mock-civil war battles whenever me and my folks would go into Civil War re-enactments.
      but by the time i reentered public school at a very horrible 8th grade charter school, i learned to evade and keep my head down.
      and saw my self confidence drop at my feet. i scarcely remember where i dropped it at.
      but now i've picked most of it back up, and done things most men should be expected to do.

      I was at scout camp when I was about 12 years old and my dad and older brother were waiting to pick me up and this kid that was being an asshole from another troop asked me what time it was and I told him to get his own watch. He thought it was a good idea to try to grab my arm to see my watch and I clocked him. My dad wasn't looking but my brother told him and when I came over he asked me "did you just hit that kid?" And said yeah, he tried to grab me. And he said "well maybe he'll think twice about putting his hands on other people." That's the kind of man my dad has always been and I'm glad.

    Holy cow kids have been fighting since the world began, why is this an issue? Teach your kids to stand up for themselves. The west is getting to sensitive these days, that and politically correctness will be it's downfall.

      @phillynn79 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      34thstreetman people have called it the "Pussification of America"... seems to be a culture war. They are splitting apart the family unit, piece by piece. One of the primary campaigns is the emasculation of men. It's quite a gauntlet of identity crisis facing a young boy in this day and age. While all language encourages conformity and mild behavior, young boys see clearly that cavalier and boisterous behavior yields it's own rewards. Political correctness is quite a motivator.

    It really says something when another woman agrees that we shouldn't lower standards for women in the military.

  • @birdtopaz5627
    @birdtopaz5627 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I agree with this: I believe in women in the military, BUT...they should be held to the same physical standards as the men are--no excuses. What pisses me off is that **there are militaries** that don't lessen standards for women, and the women succeed in passing the requirements. Case in point: South Korea's White Tigers commandos. Also, as I understand it, TWO WOMEN passed Army Ranger training in the last year **and met the same standards as the men.** Yes, only two out of 19 women made it...but these two women MADE IT. My opinion: I think women who want to be in combat should work out very hard for at least 2 to 5 years **prior to** going through infantry or Special Forces training: this will probably increase the amount of women capable of properly slugging it out in combat conditions. AND YES, WOMEN CAN DO REAL COMBAT. Just talk to the Kurdish YPJ, the Israelis, the Eritreans, the Ethiopians, Liberians, etc.

    • @birdtopaz5627
      @birdtopaz5627 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      AND GUNNY IS SPOT ON about how boys--and yes, girls, too!--are emasculated and vilified so that they're not allowed to stand up for themselves. You punch a bully in the face nowadays, YOU'RE the bad guy!! And now we wonder why bullying has taken over our schools, our worklife, and even our government services!!

    Kids fight. That's the way they work out there conflicts. Growing up all my best friends where ones that I started fighting with. A became life long friends. And grew to doctors lawyers engineers and police men. Its primal at some point in your life you have to prove to your self you can and will fight. Better to do it when your young. Young people heal faster.

    • @Awesum
      @Awesum 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. Almost every person I fought, became a friend in school very strange. Its reverse for women tho. Probably a respect thing cause when girls fight even if they were best friends that was it. I damn near killed my roommate the day we got into fisticuffs, but the next day we were cool and problems resolved

    Absolutely outstanding what he said is what every kid, boy or girl needs to know, DON'T BE AFRAID TO TAKE A BEATING! Even if that bully whips your butt, if you at least pop 'em in the nose then next time they'll think twice before messing with you again. It's just like they'll think is this kid gonna take it like a wuss or are they gonna stand up and bust my lip or nose and if the answer is in the affirmative then they'll realize it's not worth it and go after someone else that won't.

    I wasn’t bullied in school, but I was bullied at home. If my mom was working but my dad wasn’t, I was afraid to go home. I was always a bit bigger than most kids so whenever I saw kids being picked on I tried to help them as best as I could... even if meant I’d be getting in trouble.

    I grew up in the 60s, and in Jr High (called Middle school today) I got bullied by this one punk, everywhere I went, there he was, poking at me, calling me names, tripping me then laughing his ass off with his buddies.. Finally, he hit the "straw that broke the camels back".. He started insulting my mother.. I saw red, and all the warnings I had received about "don't flight back or you'll get suspended" went out the door.. I don't really recall much of it, but I was told afterwards that I punched him, he fell down and I proceeded to start kicking him.. Took a counselor to pull me off of him. Of course this got me into trouble, even back then, but after witnesses reported the fact that he started it, and friends reported that he'd been bullying me for months, I wound up only suspended for 1 day, rather than running the chance of being expelled... Guy never bothered me again, he'd go the other way when he saw me....

    Much of the problem today is, cowardly and ignorant or even stupid teachers and bosses. Back in grade school, being one of the smallest in class, I had to deal with several bullies, some worse than others. Fed up, I egged on on (called him the most derogatory things I could), then turned, as if to walk away. Of course, the idiot figured I was an easy target then, and dropped his guard to take advantage of it.
    HOWEVER, I kept turning, then buried my fist as far in to his stomach I could. He grabbed his stomach, his eyes got big, then he passed out. He went straight backwards and his head bounced off the floor. Even his bad ass buddy didn't know what to do with that.
    Interestingly, a teacher had been walking feet ahead of us. The guy hit the floor so hard, the teacher turned around and asked what happened. I don't remember my comment. It was, probably, akin to babbling and stuttering.
    The end response indicated the teacher was no idiot and was aware of the bullying asses. He looked at us, then said "[y]ou'd better get him into the bathroom before someone seems him."
    He was still out when the teacher turned and left without another word, but I think a smile crossed his lips.
    Needless to say, that bully never bothered me again. Obviously, I couldn't be trusted, and it hurt [to bother me].
    His friend arranged for us to meet so he could finish what his larger friend could not. We met up on the huge rock at my place, but that's another story and, perhaps, even more comical. Just know, he never bothered me again either.

    This is absolutely true. It is social engineering, if you are killing yourself by being grossly overweight,it's okay,you're beautiful,if you are being bullied,it's okay the nanny "state" will protect you....maybe. If you want to be an individual and not follow the herd,that's wrong,political correctness is nothing more than mind control. Think people,think. This has been such a gradual thing that over the years it is hardly noticeable. Look at what it has produced in this society,lawlessness, our economy is going into the tank, our young are rude, manner-less, punks, they have no respect for themselves or their parents, or anyone, for that matter,yet they cry like babies when something doesn't go their way. I can see the overall outcome of this,can you? It is going to be a mindless,pliant "society" of do nothings,who only move if the "state" tells them to. Tells them what and how to think. In short drones,clones, no motivation,no original thoughts,just quite simply brain dead drool factories.

    In 1988 in the 3rd grade had a teacher that was afraid some of the class would get hurt in the interschool tug-of-war we barely still had then. Consequently, she would pull several students out of the line, put the fattest kid (a girl) in the rear as an anchor, and we got our asses roundly kicked by a full strength class on the other side every time. It was predetermined.

    You don't have to give up your ground to a bully. You help him, her, understand why bullying is bad. For example:
    - you can explain your willing to wait outside their house, and when the time is right, to club them;
    - your willingness to insure they can never walk again, or to see again;
    - you willingness to take a few hits, until you can get in close enough to bite them in the throat;
    In short, your willingness to, at the least, make them never want to bully you again, or anyone when you are around, or even to insure they cannot bully anyone.
    A bully landlord stood in my front room screaming at me, because the furnace died. I, calmly and at a normal pace, walked over to the corner of the room, picked up an aluminum baseball bat, then swung it at his face, hard and fast. I stopped about six inches, give or take, from his teeth.
    I told him, if he ever did that ____t again, I'd smash his face in,
    He screamed "[y]ou'd go to jail."
    I responded, "[y]ou'd still be dead."
    He turned and left without a word. He was far more cautious about his asshole behavior after that.
    Key to these things is, of course, avoiding witnesses. Too, when you go down these roads, even if not sincere, ACT like you are. Make it a point to lower your voice, as much as possible. It adds to the "crazy" effect you need to inspire jerks.

    You can't stand up for yourself. If you do, they will suspend or expel you from school. Doesn't matter who started it.

    • @chrismc410
      @chrismc410 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes it's best to take the suspension and/or expulsion and keep your safety, dignity, self-respect and honor intact than to compromise that for the sake of arbitrary rules/regulations for an ineffective system that allows such situations to occur in the first place.
      I've had to make that decision in favor of accepting the consequences over continuing to be bullied many times.
      If I have to fight to stop bullying and consequences are being suspended or expelled for standing up for myself, I'd rather be suspended and/or expelled and retain my dignity, safety, self-respect and honor over conforming to an ineffective system that allows such situations to occur.

      Ó Slatraigh In short, if I'm bullied, the bully is going to be laid out on the deck via my feet and fists as The Gunny recommends, and if doing so means I'll get suspended or expelled for it, then so be it.

    So true. Back in primary school i was just minding my own business and then this kid ran up to me and landed a punch right in my stomach. I was on the ground moaning in pain and after i recovered i went to find him and clawed right all over his face. My nails were pretty long back then so his face ended up pretty bloodied.
    Some teacher broke us up and i ended up having to apologise to him infront of his whole fucking class while that teacher continue to scold and shame me for for using violence against him. It's fucking bullshit,

      iwanfishz9 That is ridiculous, yes! But I bet you don't regret what you did. You stood up for yourself and that was the right thing to do, for self respect.

    Bullies yes, I encountered them. I was the nerd dexter geek still am. Effective communication for me came by hiring three tall big strong buddies that had to do what I was unable to do. Had I done it myself likely I would not have my full appendages and face. Am I ashamed no. does it happen yes, If I ever have a son or daughter then yes I would be very ole school and personally advise them to stand up for yourself. push back effectively. I always would want my children to assist others be southern in their manners treat women with respect elders too. If I cannot instill that properly then yes I will send their ass off to military school. I want my children if I ever have or adopt them to do the right thing glorify their Savior and yes be able to handle themselves effectively with confidence. I also was extremely scared of authority. My step dad yelled that meant more than the TI does but I was so intimidated by him I quivered and the mind game was complete and the TI never knew what background I had with mind games and violence. It brought way too many very bad memories. and yes to this day..that cocky commander and male and female TI I would be most sadistically be tormented by myself. Call it mental illness but I can relate to that recruit in the latrine. Yes I managed to retire from the service too. I do have passive anger issues also that only medications seem to be able to handle. Dealing with the real mccoy in the federal prison systems too...somebody of my demeanor and statute was much more evil than the biggest baddest loud mouth ass hole inmate or coworker I ever had. True Mental Illness is a very lethal thing.

    Damn straight Gunny. I was harassed in college once by two idiots who thought it would be interesting to share the private stuff I have on my laptop with the entire class for laughs because I am an ethnic minority...
    ... and somehow I got in trouble instead because someone (I still don't know who) accused me of threatening to shoot them. I had detectives knocking on my front door. Granted they quickly realized that it was all bogus but it is still infuriating and embarrassing to be treated this way. People these days seem to value flashy, loud and obnoxious jackasses more than the intelligent folk who are derisively treated for using their brains (anyone notice how most of the villains in media are the smart ones and the heroes are the meat-heads?)
