I wonder if ura- dashi is performed on chisels as well, never seen it in Video´s, or is it just for kanna with chipbreakers? Thank you very much. Some people do uradashi on chisels and some don't. In my case, I don't do uradashi. In my case, I do not do uradashi. I think it is very difficult to get information about Japanese hand tools outside of Japan. I hope my video can be of some help.

It is difficult, for hira kanna I think it is possible to read enough to set it up ok, but not for special plane. With your additional info´s like the thickness of the dai, basic info is provided. I´am confident enough not to screw up the nice new kanna´s I found from japanese tool shop ;-). Your video´s are of great vallue. And that you are filming at your workplace is particularly nice. That is a beautiful nomi collection and the explanation was really easy to understand. When sharpening I try to make the back flat even if the chisel is for striking with a hammer, I see a lot of people only sharpening the first few cm from the edge. Do you ever use a kanaban for the back? I don't have one so I only use the whetstone and I was wandering if I should get one
Thank you for watching my video. I used to use kanaban, but not anymore. Instead of Kanaban, I use diamond grinding stones. I use a diamond grinding stone with a grain size of 180 to maintain the flatness of the grinding stone.

私は手刻みの利点を見出だすために最近叩きの木口を切っていくノミの表は少しだけのろく裏は返して刃先少しだけ10℃くらい付けたほうが良いのではないかと思っていま思考錯誤しています！

角鑿を使わないで手彫りの場合だけですが、しのぎを少し付けて、少しだけ両刃にして楔の要領でほぞ穴の木口を木殺ししながら叩き込む感じで使うと良いのでは無いかと思っています。
するとほぞが痩せて行ったときに、木殺し部分が膨れて、ほぞの緩みが少ないのでは無いかと思っています。
最早穴屋さんが絶滅してしまっているので、秘技は定かではないですが、ほぞの効きは昔の建物と今の建物とでは全く別物な気がしていたのでたまに建具を作るときに向待ちのみで少し研究してます。

ホソを手鋸で引くと違うというのは効いたことがありますが、穴の方の秘密には考えがおよびませんでした。

そもそも、片刃の鑿を叩き込めば直進性などは無いのです❗そこで直進性を維持できるだけ向かい角を付ければ良いのではないかと言うのが、着眼点でした両刃にして真下に叩き込むとベクトル的には直進するんですよね❗後は木殺しの具合なのではないかと思います。
文化庁もプレナーかけた木材にフェイクで槍鉋を当てるんではなくて、ほぞ穴1つからもう少し考えて欲しいと思っています❗
もっと深い伝統工法と言うものを❗

コバヤシさんと仰る通り、文化財関係は、せっかく税金投入して、一般の社寺の現場よりも手間を掛ける時間があるのだから、多方面の技術と技能の復元や保存にもっと取り組めたら良いですよね。
もちろん、大工分野だけで無く、例えば、鑿鍛治や、鉋鍛治。チョウナなど、伝統建築を下支えしている全てを包括的に保存しないと、文化の継承は難しいでしょうね。

曲げないとするなら、ノミの刃先を減らしながら、使える範囲を広げていってるんでしょうか？柄が当たるときは、削ってもアリですか？教えて下さい❤
裏の押し方で調整が可能な範囲ならば、なるべく首はいじりません。
以前に、インスタでも投稿したのですが、首の角度を変える時には、極力、打撃による衝撃は与えない様にします。
曲げる際には投光器などの熱で温めながら万力で締め上げるなどして、少しずつ曲げていきます。

産地ならば、ざっくりとし過ぎますが、東京鑿は、使いやすい形のものが多いと思いますが、鍛冶屋によって、全然違う感じですね。
