This car features a lot of new parts which positioned it a lot closer to the RS3 (at least of what we know;)). 333 hp, torque splitter, Akrapovic exhaust and lots of other things we are going to show in the video. Besides the akrapovic the car looks like a s line a3 to me
that is exactly what the S3 is supposed to look like, customers who want even more sportyness go for the RS3, Audi doesn't want the S3 to look as good because then it would cannibalize its bigger brother.
They didn't do a good job in my view with the current A3 looks. Better engines and tech but outside has more plastics and fake vents. The previous A3 8V looked a lot better, and the S3 as well.
@@mrmorrisniceguy987 Now S3 and A3 S line at the front they are identical, with same grill and without badge. Prefacelift 8y S3 had badge and different front grill then A3 sline
@@milinddixit6583 Wrong. You could walk past an 8V RS3 and not even notice it. The stupid pop up screen inside and dated interior did it no favours, as well as the flawed driving position. It handled like a bar of soap and the brakes weren't that great when you leant on them I owned one for two year. I now have the 8Y RS3 and wow, just wow. Looks wise, in another league, it gets so many heads turning, never had that with the last car. It's way better to drive and at last, you can get comfortable in it. Tech wise it's a big step up and no more stupid pop up screen. I've ceramics on mine and the full carbon exterior pack, it's awesome. Anyone who thinks the previous generation was better is either dumb or trying to kid themselves, usually because they can't afford the new car. Probably haven't driven one as well.
@@mrmorrisniceguy987 I understand what you mean and you're right. However, the predecessors were already much more different from each other. It's just my opinion that I think the S3 should stand out a bit more visually from a base model. That's how it was in the past.
The rear bumper is hideous to me. It looked better before the restyling in general, but it's great that it features mechanical upgrades! 😃
Sounds ok for stock exhaust! Sounds not ok for an expensive optional exhaust.

@@gullible119 Yes, we know that. But the point is, for how much that costs, it doesn't deliver. Someone like Milltek will bring out a cat back system for half the price and it'll probably sound better. People would be nuts to option it. Akrapovic is massively overpriced.

They put flag of S and RS at rear of A3 S line! WTF? Now S3 and A3 S line at the front are identical, with same grill and without badge. Prefacelift S3 8Y has different front grill then A3 Sline and front badge

sehr gute Zeit 100-200 für stock. Ich denke er hat locker real 350Ps und 450Nm. Könnte ich anhand der Gps Intervalle und des Fahrzeug und Fahrergewichts berechnen.

I reckon (and I have no fact to base this on) that Audi have to nerf the S3 a bit because of the RS3 - especially 0 to 60 which is what most people look at. Where the Golf R doesn't have that constraint.

Ice engines are ending. They could buff the rs3 to 450hp and the s3 to 350

It’s not much quicker to 100 than my 2015 S3 sedan, however the mid-range (100-200) is significantly quicker and most likely due to the improved Haldex system. It would pull away from my S3 with ease there.

That might be your opinion. I'm just tired of seeing this chinese inspired overstyling on new cars, BMW is the perfect example.
That rear diffuser (or however that thing is called) just looks so unnecessarily big, it's almost the size of the bumper itself. 8V S3 looked just right IMO.

The rear diffuser just looks so nasty and cheap, a very poor facelift indeed, and a complete mistake of losing premium B&O sound system in favour of Sonos, the Alcantara door trim with added slashes and back light has just sent this car into cheap and tacky, although with a hefty price tag
Audi back at it again with the over-styling 😮💨 The 8V was the best looking imo, I'd even argue that the 8V pre-facelift looks better than this face-lift.

My NON tuned 2023 S3 does 0-60 typical 4.4-4.2? However the intercooler does heat up a lot on stops. I was at Mosport this weekend, with data logging, and was surprised just how much. BTW, a 23 S3 with just rear bar added, is very sweet on track, even without the new / Golf R diff. I really don't understand why people say it understeer's really bad, mine is very neutral now and would likely oversteer if I chambered front. Maybe cause I don't have the active suspension where all press cars do?

My S3 8V 2015 limo USA (292 bhp) + sport downpipe on dyno - 303bhp/450nm was doing 4,72 s to 100. Version 8Y has super engine and full of potentcial for tuning, but the new are soft blocked :)

I had the same exhaust on my Cupra Ateca Lmited Edition year 2020 with Opf and i guess that it sounded better.. more noise, more pops and bangs.
Ngl gotta give props to audi for the exhaust being more open to fruity exhausts with the crapovtich quad pipes on the back

Well our S3 8V sedan was a 2016 MY, so that’s 8 years ago with totally different regulations. But I agree, that sounded sweet😍🥹
Schönes Auto mit super Fahrleistungen und Golf R Specs (hier im Video quasi die edlere Variante vom VW Jetta R, wenn es den denn überhaupt so gäbe), aber der Klavierlack in der Mittelkonsole vom S3 ist einfach too much. Hoffentlich kann man das auch anders bestellen.

Moin😁. Noch nichts offizielles aber ich gehe davon aus, dass der Golf R Facelift ebenfalls bei den 333 PS landet.

The standard Golf R will have 333hp but the peeformance version definitely will have more i suggest 350. Lets see.
Because Golf R actualy existed in two wariants in latest time after 333 version. One was standard with 320hp and peeformance with 333hp just like 20th edition and 333edition. Now they say standard Golf R facelift will get 333hp and nobody say anything about performance version. 100% it will have more power because they want to separate it from standard one and offcourse from S3. Bear in mind its 50th anvrs. So something like 350 is i thing for performance Golf R. @@Automann-TV
@@robertderboss9471Eigentlich war die Leistung außer beim Golf 8 Vor-facelift immer gleich.
Add a simple stage 1 tune and both your Golf R or S3 will go towards 400hp real quick. Stage 2 with some bits and bobs and you're pushing 450.

I guess this new facelifted S3 isn’t in the configurator yet!? If it comes up this should be an factory option from Audi.

Is it possible to install a tow bar? It was possible in the pre-facelift S3, but now it's got RS3-style rear diffuser.
Edit: ok, checked the tech data, no tow bar available for facelifted S3.

@@Bat02051 More like what's the point of YOURS? Many people ask about fitment of tow bar to RS3. I have an 8Y RS3 and did look into it, handy I could use it for towing the fishing boat, instead of using the truck. Get it? Now off you go.
@@mauricetoussaint7283 I'd never come up with an idea of towing sth with an rs3, but even for a bike rack. Of course one can get a roof rack, but since I already have a tow hitch mounted rack + it's more comfortable.

Yep, you have faster shifting and response when you are on the go. In launch control mode you never feel that but in dynamic plus mode it’s definitely there👌

It looks very dull, probably because RS3 will be top of the line. I'd choose golf R over this, because it looks more sporty. Or maybe cupra leon st, if you go for a fast affordable wagon.

I think 266 km/h is the max…..should be limited there. The Golf with the same engine runs 290 km/h on speedo, so there’s more in it, you’re right👍
@@Automann-TV oh, nice :) So my next car could be Golf R mk8 (in next 4-5 years from bazaar. Now I have fun with Megane IV GT (light tweaked on 232 HP and 330 Nm), but it can go ride quicker than 240 kph on autobahn 😞

Got my S3 2023 with a whopping 18% discount, and i certainly prefer the 18% discount over the rear diff.

As a long-time Audi fan, I'm a little disappointed in some of the decisions the brand has been making lately. Totally getting rid of all coupes? Maybe they plan on making e-tron coupes in the future. I have to say this S3 looks nice though.
Hab kürzlich den aktuellen RS3 gefahren....viel Power....billige Materialien im Innenraum und quasi keinen Sound mehr..... Der S3 hat leider den gleichen Innenraum.....
Deswegen gibt es ja nun das Facelift, mit besseren Materialen und hochwertigeren Dekoren wie bspw. dem Alcantara inlay

The I30N is just annoyingly loud, which you people compare to "sportiness". VW cars will never scream and shout from factory. I think the S3 has a nice, mature sound. The I30N is a good car for young people. The S3 costs almost twice as much.
Do not forget that this is a MY2025 car and they will stop building the i30N this year, no successor. So again, those are different regulations they are coping with….and as @t3chn0m0 said, two different customer target groups😉

in this engine - gen 4 if you change intercooler -1k + downpipe 800 + turbo garret powermax - 2k - you get 500+ hp :)
