I so so love experiencing Svalbard through your eyes. I don't think I could hack it there - I have lived in Ireland and was born and raised in Canada and just moved home again after 20 years in Ireland. Seeing so many trees here made my heart explode. I love them so much and I dont think I could live without them! But its stunning where you are and I love your enthusiasm for it ^_^
This video is the most beautiful and majestic ...thank you so much for sharing the beauty of your island. The wildlife even looks content with the beauty. Grim is a hoot ...simply peaceful ! Cecilia I commend your strength
You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful and serene place.. I've been shielded away in my little apartment since the beginning of March and seeing places like this have been my escape. On my wishlist now to visit now...thank you for sharing.
I had not seen this video yet, and it was a joy to watch it. So relaxing! Thanks for shooting this video in such a cold environment, all alone. It’s not an easy job. Ciao Grim, ciao Cecilia!
I've always wanted to drop everything and go to Svalbard. Never been there, but it's calling me. Yes, I would leave everything behind. People don't understand.
If I've got this right you filmed with a tripod ..took drone footage and navigated alone with Grim 🐕 on his sniffs giving us this awesome footage..🤩😍🥇wow what inspiration 👏 thankyou 💓xx
I just love you for bringing so much peace to me. Thank you so much for your work and dedication to making videos. I love to hear your voice explaining everything. Thank youuuuuu.
I would love to know more about what you did before moving to Svalbard, how much of a culture difference was it/ how much were you having to give up and leave behind. Maybe for a Q&A video :)
As always great one, Cecilia! Imo, your sincerity and simple life are the main reasons for your channel’s popularity. Professional and high-quality vids are a great plus ofc but not the most important ones. Also, it would be great if you make a video about ‘life for digital nomads in Svalbard’ (wifi, housing, coffeeshop (too optimistic I know), monthly cost of living, any documentation for longer stay etc.). Merry Christmas!🎄🎄🎄
That's a topic I'd like to see as well! I'm trying to figure how to make a living there and my options are quite limited without higher education so UNI is out of the question. I was thinking something to do with tourism or content creator would be ideal if possible. I know internet there is fast since they have optic cable from mainland connecting to Longyearby. They have tourism info website where you can find some answers. :) I don't have the link here now but it's easy to find on Google.
Awesome videos. My wife just got me into your TH-cam channel. Seeing the sights makes me miss it and want to get back up there. Keep it up and I'll make my way through the backlog.
Thank you for sharing! I was wondering if the electricity ever goes out & also has anyone considered adding a tall flag to their ski mobile to find it after a big snowfall?
The electricity sometimes go out but not as often as previous years as they've invested in a great back up system. I've seen a few pelple who have flags on them 😊
I just came across your channel and started to watch your videos. I love it! I am just curious why you decided to move there. Did you visit a friend and decide to stay on Svalbard? How did your artic adventure begin? Greetings from Poland!
I like to hike too on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, USA. Svalbard is very beautiful, do you keep your dog on a leash because of the bears. I had a small terrier chase a black bear, before he wised up and returned to me. I thought he was going to die. Enjoy your coffee.
Hiking is so relaxing isn't it! :) Grim sometimes has a tendency to run away and explore a little too far haha, so sometimes it's best to keep him on a leash. haha wow chase a black bear! Im happy he returned!!
you can get flexi leash and attach it to your backpack belt.. I always do like this while hiking with my dog., it gives her space to go sides and walk as she wants :)
@@CeciliaBlomdahl You could teach him mush dog terms for left, right, stop, go, etc. Would prob help a lot, especially if you did want him to help pull. Since there is a husky sled farm in town, I bet they could help.
This is incredible! What safety precaution do u take as far as letting someone know where you’ll be? It’s all white, what if u get lost? How are gas stations for ur car? Thank you so much for this!
I'd be interested in knowing specifically what you carry for polar bear defense? I see you were grabbing some 12 gauge slugs, what shotgun do you carry? Secondary question, you started out as a party of two, and your partner went back, do you both need to carry a gun or did you need to escort him back?
I carry a Mossberg 500 pump shotgun with slugs :) We looked around and saw no polar bears and he only had about 500m back to the car. There are also so many cabins around so it was fine 😊 If it was further we wouldnt have separated 😊
@@CeciliaBlomdahl Thanks for getting back to me. The Mossberg 500 is a great shotgun. Since you answered that, mind if I ask what you lubricate it with? Since you are dealing with such cold temperatures?
My bf doesn't love it when I go on glaciers hikes and stuff haha but I bring all the necessary gear and a satphone in case :) I usually only go on the regular/easy hiked by myself 😊
It depends! Sometimes I let him go off leash (if it's not during the mandatory leash months). But he helps pull me and the pulk a bit so it's nice to have him on leash. He also has a tendency to explore a little tooo far away 🤣
Grim looked so happy. It fills his doggy heart with love to go walking and be with his human companions.
Grim has become everyone’s favorite pup!!🐾💙🐾
Bed friend and I both said .. you should teach us your WAYS!!!! We love the way you live and enjoy life..
💕💕💕💕
I admire how you tread-on, with em or without em, & don't let anything stop you. Dogs are the best companions anyhow! Tread on!
You should make a video covering all your equipment: snow shoes, types of jackets, snowmobile, etc i love it when you explain things 💜
Those are amazing drone shots.
Thanks a lot! :):)

Warm coffee or tea is wonderful on a cold day. The best thing though is Grimm being close.
Grim's grins at the end ! 😂 ❤
You are soooo brave!!! 🤩
And sexy
So beautiful Cecelia! That was a long walk! Binge watching your videos today!
Spectacular indeed! The landscape is breathtaking! The video quality superb! Love this video Cecilia!

That's what I did, and I loooove it here! :)
Oh, I think a lot of us understand. The question is can Longyearbyen handle all of us. 😂
I would love to also

Amazing video! So relaxing to watch and just calms my brain! Absolutely beautiful footage ❄️
Exactly why I visited Longyearbyen, for peace and silence. End of course the beauty.

Just beautiful! Really enjoyed coming along on your hike. 😊
Thank you for watching 🤩
Such stunning landscape... beautiful Svalbard!
It really is! 🤩⭐️
Just found your channel ,love the video's so peachful, you can almost feel the crisp air❤

😂 Grimm needs to explore everything that he smells. Not exactly a strait line but must be fun to watch!
wow loved the drone footage of your hike, more videos like this please!!
Thank you so much! Will do as soooon as the light comes back! :)
I loved seeing that fox I had to go back and watch him a 2nd time.. I love foxes 😁🥰
This whole video is GORGEOUS!! But particularly 11:31 🥰🥰😍 lol.
Those are very fuzzy reindeer! Nice warm coats!
Just……. Ahhhhhhh 🥰🌻🍦🙅♀️🙅♀️

Wonderful Svalbard!
This was a great video. Had somehow missed this one.
You obviously love coffee. 🙂Would love to hear about what brands you prefer, and how you make it.
LOOVE coffee!! I will gladly talk more about my coffee obsession in upcoming videos 🤩
Love love love.
😍
So mesmerized ❣
Great drone work!
I stopped breathing to hear the silence.... 😃🥰🏔

Does anyone else sit on pins and needles until she gets back safely?
haha! 🤩😊
Yes! I wish she would load that gun. There wouldnt be time to if she needed it. Be safe, Cecelia!
No not really, in the 10 days that I camped and arctic skied through the mountains and glaciers I didn't see one polar bear, just peace and beauty.
👍👍👍

I know my way around there very well so I won't get lost :) We have one gas station in Longyearbyen 😊
Who owns the little cabins? Are they supplied for everyone's use, or do you rent them, like Airb&b?
Wow
Wow,that’s April!

There is! :)
Are there indigenous ppl on Svalbard?
Nooo, no indigenous people here 😊
Are they moose, elk or reindeer?
Svalbard reindeer! 🤩
@@CeciliaBlomdahl Cool. I didn't realise you had animals up there other than polar bears but I spotted an Arctic fox too 🙂
