Woodturning - Waxing my Wood

In this week’s woodturning video, I started turning a bit of Magnolia that had a pretty plain grain. So I wanted to try out an interesting technique called encaustic painting. It’s a technique I saw demonstrated by Cheryl Lewis at @almost_firewood. Make sure to check out her work on her Instagram!
It’s a similar process of painting on beeswax which is mixed with demar resin (a hardening agent). The possibilities are endless with what you can do with this stuff. Wow! That's really effective. When you said you were going to apply shellac over 4 coats of wax, my first thought was "it'll never stick!".

Harry seems full of hot air a lot of the time, maybe you could have had Harry talk to the piece rather than using the heat gun😋
