Woodturning - The Shrinking Wood

In this week’s woodturning video, I was planning to turn a nice shallow bowl. Harry started off by selecting a piece of maple that had a few issues with it. First off there was about a 1 inch deep section of rotted wood that had to turn away. Then on the other side there were a few ring shakes that had to be removed. In the end I was left with a thin plate with some nice spalinting.
Lastly, I’ll finish of the piece with Odie’s Oil.
This is a great project for woodworkers of all skill levels, and I hope that this video will inspire you to create your own beautiful maple platter. Thanks for watching!
