Channel Awesome What if 1. Power Rangers adapted more elements from the show (Rita could send monsters to Earth that pose an internal conflict to the Rangers; Red Ranger in the first film (Jason getting blamed by a monster for pranks he didn't pull), Pink in the second (Kimberly gets private information leaked by a cyber monster), Blue Ranger in the third (Billy has to try standing up to a monster he keeps missing with him and only him), Yellow Ranger in the fourth (Trini fears she doesn't fit in with the other Rangers and befriends a monster who understands her), Black Ranger in the fifth (A monster makes Zack sick, causing him to think he's mother is dead and that he's alone), and Green Ranger in the sixth (N/A). Then a 7th movie could be made where Rita is tearing them apart and they have to band together to stop her). 2. Ben is Omar in Ride Along. 3. Scooby-Doo! Return to Zombie Island was more faithful to the first movie by having the Mystery Gang agree to make a film based on their adventure on Zombie Island. 4. Fiona doesn't tell Shrek she is pregnant until the end of Shrek 3. 5. Carmen & Juni Cortez trained Rebecca & Cecil Wilson to be spies in Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World. 6. Joker was the villain in Suicide Squad. You could have a love triangle between Joker, Harley, and Deadshot like it was teased in Batman: Assault on Arkham. And as far as Enchantress, she would appear in a end credit scene where we start with Dr. Moone letting her out. 7. Max destroys Planet Drool in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. 8. Emma Frost was in X-Men: The Last Stand. 9. Scott Calvin willingly gave up being Santa Claus in The Escape Clause. 10. Mufasa survived the fall in The Lion King. This idea came from Wotso Videos. 11. Mr. Incredible let Buddy Pines be his sidekick. 12. Agent Jay was still a cop in MiB 3. This idea came to me a few weeks ago because continuity wise, he should be a cop in MiB 3 if K is dead. They tried explaining why he still remembered K in the alternate timeline, but that doesn't explain how he still became a MiB agent in the new timeline if K dies in 1969. 13. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, The Godfather, and The Dark Knight got a 4th film. Like the last Fanscription, these are trilogies that at one point was planned to continue with another movie that was never made (in Spider-Man case 3).
The "I am Spartacus" moment where all the Stormtroopers remove their helmets and join Finn would have been Iconic and worth more than the price of admission.
I just think Jon & Dave should contact Boyega and get him onboard to reprise his role in one of their shows, just rework the whole defecting stormtrooper idea, into a defecting, force sensitive Imperial storm trooper who exists in the Mandalorian era instead.
Fin was the first face we had seen since the last star wars movie. Not to mention he was holding the iconic first lightsaber in the posters. They drew so much importance to him only to toss him aside. Broke my nerd heart
@@erhanemrefirat3556atleast a rare occurence can finally be seen in a movie dude. Don't worry about him, we know him, we meant that to show the rest of the majority world of that concept. Pretty unique you would agree right? Right! Cuz that's what we've been saying. 😂😂😂
This was the only funny comment. All the other shit is like “wHy wOnT d3y mAk3 h1m d4 mAiN cHaRaCtEr?!!!” Bitch why do you think? When has there ever been an actual good black or dark skinned Star Wars character? On top of which they make him a janitor? Fucking wow.
It really seems like Finn was supposed to be the main character from the start. Not to mention his chemistry with Poe made the duo that much more enjoyable.
@@realdude6145 not only that it would still be cool if Rey was the main character but was more focused on the skills of a scavenger with Finn still being a force sensitive
This was so much better. Shows how having consistent direction throughout the sequel trilogy would have been so much better than what we got. Great plot overall and having Finn convince his former brothers and sisters in arms to defect with him is a really beautiful message that the original missed out on (Phasma should've lived tho).
I MOSTLY like this take. What I would change is Finn's ease with killing stormtroopers and Phasma. Whenever he fights them, I think it would be more congruent for him to go for stun and ion only, no blaster, no destroying tie fighters. He states he sees them as brothers and even if Phasma tries to kill him, the cold blooded nature in which he disposes her just doesnt jive with his arc. Other than that, superb take, this is what I expected to see in the sequel trilogy.
Probably would be like that for the first part of the movies and being hesitant to kill his former comrades but eventually he would have to in order to help his allies. However, when it comes to Phasma? No, I see no reason why he would hold back against her.
I had so much hope for Finn. Why Rey wasn’t just a Solo made me confused, and then forcing Palpatine on us when they have a whole Lost Tribe of Sith they could have deused on us instead.
@@Anonyomus_commenter it would have been poetic A call back to all 3 Obi wan and Anakin fights trilogy 1. as the young selves 2. As their enhanced self Darth Vader and (having the secret to become a ghost) 3. Next generation (like originally intended) Plus there's so many cut scenes that would make up for the dumpster fire known as the last jedi It would not have ruined that
@@deathpie24 Again, I disagree. Obi Wan would never have a child, he is intensely loyal to the Jedi, obviously had no child with Satine as they would have been shown, or at the very least they would have mentioned that Satine had a child and he wouldn’t have one with anyone else
Even from Force Awakens I wanted Finn to be the main character. Not that I had any problem with Rey, I just always thought that Finn was a more interesting character. He definitely has a better potential character arc.
@Cactus Juice What are you talking about? I'm saying he's nothing less of a main character in this trilogy. The OP meant to say LEAD character as what Rey is, who is the Luke and Anakin of the trilogy as the story revolves around her journey being the hero to everything. How about you read things correctly?
I think the input of Poe was the end of Finn. I heard that Poe was to die in the beginning crash but people began to like him so they had to bring him back. A let down to me.
Imagine if Skywalker told Finn that he was a Windu. The fans would have went nuts in the movie. Finn was the ultimate bait and switch character in Star Wars movie history
It could work. Gray Jedi's don't adhere too closely to full light side Jedi's, and so would have less of a problem to have secret children and relationships.
@@bailujen8052 No, none of them are. "Gray Jedi" don't exist. One can't use the dark side without being pulled further into it. Asajj and Ahsoka were merely two force users who did not affiliate with the jedi or sith.
Honestly, I don't mind this at all. Finn not only has a good backstory(being a cold/heartless soldier of the empire), he keeps showing to have massive potential throughout the movies. Not to mention he's waaaaay more interesting to watch than Rey. The guy's so criminally underrated
He had the POTENTIAL for a good backstory. It's however completely squandered by IT NOT FUCKING MATTERING. "Oh, he'd been a soldier for most of his life, indoctrinated by the first order... well that doesn't matter. He'll just act like a random goof now!" Basically the moment he's in the fighter he goes alL "SUCKS TO BE YOU GUYS!" *BLASTS THEM!* He acually should have issues fighting his former comrades, especially since manyo f htem share his backstory. Then again: I think all of hte First Order pales in comparison to even the least of the Imperial Remnant of Legends.
@@michaelmurray8134 Also I think I saw a theory once that it debunked the midichlorians crap and it said that ANY living being has the potential to use the force regardles of if their parents are jedi or regular people.
It would have been even better that when he created his lightsaber, the lightsaber hilt has white armored parts to reassemble his past life as a stormtrooper, but making the right choice and becoming the jedi he was supposed to become...
@@therocketman8933 I'm kinda imagining like Obi-Wan's clone armor from the 2003 micro-series but his old trooper armor and a cape with brown highlights on the armor. Oh man that would've been awesome. Sadly though much like everything in the Disney Trilogy it was wasted potential.
We were so close to a film where the main Jedi character wasn’t a flat out good guy but instead a person with a good heart forced to do horrible things, and redeeming himself by going against the empire he once served and fought under. This also could’ve been a chance to explore the force and how a persons emotions and past can affect their use of the force.
i absolutely love this. Its hilarious how sometimes fanfiction shows more dedication and heart to the writing than the actual writers of the original film.
My only bigger addition would be at the first Finn vs Kyle face off, his moves could be cut to young Finn learning to fight with other future troopers - not only would give a solid base to his skills but would be symbolic of how from even the darkest beginnings light can shine through, a parallel to Ben’s origin and downfall.
I'd not have Finn beat Kylo Ren in the sword fight. Losing to the trained force user , even thou he's wounded, would give the character a lot more motivation to win. "I need to be better, so that I can stop the First Order for doing to others what they did to me" - and thus a reason to seek out Luke.
The black guy or the girl who were fighting all their lives beating a Jedi who just got half crippled by a bowcaster bolt is a real sticking point with u ppl ain't it? lmao
@@o-wolf The "janitor" and the girl who was just getting by, versus a trained Jedi/Dark Side user? Yeah, it makes no sense. Neither Finn nor Rey was ever shown to be that powerful. Not even Luke beat Darth Vader, not even once in all three movies. Consistency is key to a sequel "lmao"
@@TheAurgelmir one was a stormtrooper trained his entire life. the other a scavenger who survived on one of the galaxies most remote &dangerous for yrs &was not only blessed with extreme force sensitivity but already very skilled with a staff. all your complaints are prettymuch the same vein of hypocritical smooth brained "b-b-but sHeS a MaRy sUe" excuses we've all heard from incel adjacent quartering types a billion times already tbh
@GrandAdmiralGamez I agree. Disney could have kept the EU cannon for fans that were interested in reading about it, while still producing movies for the more casual/general audience. Besides, Dark Empire or Heir to the Empire could have easily been implemented into the sequel trilogy. There much better stories anyway.
Watching Finn become a growing legend whispered among the ranks of the stormtroopers resulting in a massive defection at the end would have been awesome! But I would have liked to see Captain Phasma used to much better effect. This plotline short changes her just as badly as the movies did. She should have been Finn's recurring nemesis leading up to an emotion-fueled conflict in the third movie.
There's dozens of "what could have been" scripts out there written by fans. I regret not saving the link, but someone wrote this incredible one where Grand Admiral Thrawn is the central villain, manipulating a young Ben Skywalker and using tactical subterfuge to bring down the New Republic. Think the guy also suggested "Keanu Reeves as Coran Horn", which would have been the dankest of the dank.
Things that I would have changed: 1) Finn does not kill his fellow Stormtroopers. There should be him destroying machinery and technology but not killing his comrades who were brainwashed just like him. Whenever he encounters them, he aims for arms and legs. 2) Have Finn fight Phasma on Takodana. The Stormtrooper should have been Phasma for sure. Make her an elite warrior, and build chemistry. Phasma knocks Finn onto his back and she is about to deliver the killing blow when she is incapacitated by a stray blaster shot or Chewie's browcaster. 3) Kylo Ren is a more serious threat, not throwing tantrums but remaining motionless. For example, when that officer reports "FN-2187" managed to escape with the Droid, he remains calm. 4) Finn is not a janitor. He could easily be a private or someone among a special legion like Kylo Ren's Fist, something along those lines. Those deleted scenes of Finn using the lightsaber such as using that to destroy the shields are added back in instead of framing Phasma in a pitiful light. 5) One change I made from my original script. The First Order would be just Empire's remnants who haven't accepted the New Republic and is now actively going against the galaxy and their former allies, led by Kylo Ren. That means they would essentially use the Confederacy of Independent Systems with a secret threat from the shadows, using outdated dreadnoughts while the Republic has modern technology. 6) Kylo Ren defeats Rey and Finn who takes him on together, and maybe have Rey receive the injury that Kylo received in the original timeline while Finn receives a spine injury, and before he can deliver the finishing blow, a green lightsaber activates, revealing none other than Luke Skywalker, giving Hamill exactly what he wanted. Kylo Ren needed to be build as a threat. Finn beating him is problematic because it could be argued that he is a Gary Sue at that moment, but we can still give Kylo a reason why he would lose. It takes away from Kylo Ren that someone with no lightsaber and Force training is able to beat him. But Luke showing up would be amazing. We can see him almost reaching Kylo before the forest breaks apart. 7) Luke is not a coward. He went to the island to find a way to save Ben as well as to find a way to adapt the Jedi Order to a modernized view. He would take Finn to Tython which would have been his place in hiding instead of another planet we never heard about. Finn would have training montages. He is the one who manages to manipulate the Force to do the Holdo maneuver later down the road, thus helping the Republic drastically. The Force can do amazing things and I feel like him doing that would just be awesome. 8) Leia dies in the Last Jedi. She can summon the Force one last time, reaching out to her son once more and pleading for him to turn to the light. Ben hesitates but Hux orders the planet's destruction, giving a sweet moment where Ben just looks horrified. Ordering her allies to escape, Leia sacrifices herself for the lives of others, Luke feeling this across the galaxy. It would make more sense that way and give Luke a moment where he breaks down after the lost of his sister. 9) The Knights of Ren have a more active part. They are searching for Force Sensitive children, killing those who they find unworthy and capturing others, as well as attempting to find Luke Skywalker after he humiliated Kylo Ren. They would have their own feelings on Ren, believing him weak and doubting him intensely after he failed to kill a ex Stormtroopers and the daughter to Han Solo. 10) Have Snoke be revealed as Darth Plagueis. It was built up, and pretty much developed, and would make a lot of sense. 11) It should not be Luke igniting his lightsaber on Ben. It should be Ben igniting his lightsaber on Luke when he's asleep, tempted by Plagueis and the Dark Side. Luke awakes in the last second, countering Ben through the Force, surprised his own nephew would attack him. 12) Have Luke defeat Finn in combat when he lashes out at him despite his training. This could be shown that arrogance is a major flaw within Finn, and he could struggle with the Dark Side as a whole at the fact that he almost did something unforgivable. The problem with having Luke beaten here makes him look pathetic. 13) Like in this video, Luke confronts both Ben and Snoke, but it would be on a Star Destroyer, not on the planet. They would fight, 2v1, but Luke would just show off more of his skills. Eventually, they would be a stand still and Luke would appeal to Ben, telling him that he can come back to his family like Vader did even in his last moments. This weakens Ben and causes him to stand down. Luke and Plagueis continue their battle and eventually it would end when a red lightsaber stabs through Plagueis's back, dropping him instantly. It would be Kylo Ren who stands there, looking down at his Master's corpse before up at Luke who simply waits. Eventually, Kylo would attack, though his assaults would be less forceful and more of just trying to kill the past, even though both of his parents words are vibrating in his head. Eventually, reinforcements would arrive and Luke would be forced to escape to the planet to help Finn. 14) Have Poe die on Crait, doing the sacrifice in the orbital cannon. He could say something in the comlink to Finn: "The name Finn, I'm glad you liked it." This could be shown Finn with more struggles at losing one of his first friends, humanizing him as well like Leia's death did with Luke. The thing about the movies is that they lack stakes, and now that Poe is dead this could make the next movie more interesting and give him motivation to stand up against Phasma and the First Order. Rey could be shown taking command now that one of their best pilots has fallen. Poe has really nothing to do after this aside from standing there, and his sacrifice could have shown he learned from Leia. 15) Remove the Hux's spy thing. Have it been revealed that he has been betraying Kylo Ren from the shadows. He wants to see the Force Users destroyed as a whole. He is the ultimate threat, receiving loyalty from the First Order, and even the Knights of Ren, tricking them that Kylo Ren is a flawed leader. 16) Continuing, have Hux be the main villain and cause problems for our heroes, it being revealed. Finn recruiting Troopers and Kylo Ren just going on about finding the Republic and destroying them once and for all. The Knights of Ren turns on Kylo Ren at Hux's command and so do his own men. Angered, Kylo Ren lashes out, doing a lot of damage, and just chasing Finn and Rey himself. 17) Originally, Luke was going to die, but I changed my mind. Have Luke survive. In essence, this would be reversed Luke vs Vader on the Second Death Star. Eventually, Luke gets the upper hand and de-mask Ben but not killing him, telling him that Vader came back to the light and he can too. At this moment, Anakin Skywalker would appear, telling him to make the right decision and that admiring Vader would lead to destruction. This time, Luke would reach Ben who would take his hand and ask him how can he redeem himself. This would be a touchy moment. I did this after a comment made me reconsider. Besides, let someone live after that much death and destruction. 18) Meanwhile, have Hux assume command of the galaxy and threaten to wipe out the remnants of the Republic. He comes to the system of the Republic and warns them that their Republic will be wiped out. Rey leads the Republic's freighters while Finn takes out the Knights of Ren on the station, finding the controls and dismantling them briefly, allowing a pathway. He runs into Hux and a group of Stormtroopers who remain loyal. Taking them all out, Hux states that Finn would always be a slave and that he is nothing. Finn is unmoved, demanding he surrenders. Before Finn can even arrest Hux who loses the battle, he activates a lightsaber kept hidden away and stabs himself, giving a very Hitler type ending. At the end of all this, you can show Luke, Ben, Finn with a new Jedi Order, and Rey along with the Force Ghosts of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda, closing the final installment out.
The only thing I disagree would be Phasma replacing FN-2199's fight, it could be that FN-2199's character is given more importance considering he used to train alongside Finn and then make a confrontation between Phasma and Finn at the Second Death Star
for disney, you cant repeat the same old hero’s journey that luke had realising hes is more than a moisture farmer who is a good pilot. they didnt understand that from the get-go, and made it worse with writing characters in the wrong roles
Yeah, rather than the 'Nobody is actually a special descendent of someone', it would've been a story of someone who starts off as a nobody - one of the many nameless, faceless stormtroopers. Then, he turns against them and becomes a symbol of how everyone has the capacity to change. He could've inspired a revolution to take down the Empire and truly been the face of the Resistance. Oh well.
And thats exactlly where the problem lay. This comment is much more profound than face value. They tried to present the mc with the same tropes that GL set for previous heros. Which like u say is based around the "Farmer" "Savior" archetype a trope GL himself admits to gleaning out of ancient mythologies.
@@jwork5680 thats a good way to describe it, I thought he was pretty cool at first impressions, but in the other movies he seemed to lose that factor, even when he changed sides.
This would’ve been way better. Rey still could been very useful even if Finn being the Jedi. Rey could speak droid, fly a ship, and use a blaster. She could’ve been the tech specialist of the trio and basically made all the cool gadgets and still been a good fighter because of her skills form jakku
Her being a force sensitive bounty hunter type is a really cool idea. Making her a stand alone bad ass in the next trilogy of films would have been the best course for her in my opinion
And the start of the Jedi training from Luke even if she didn't performed well as a force wielder that little training could provide some perspective that was lacking on Han on the original trilogy and make her a better character
This has to be the MOST AMAZING take on portraying Finn as the protagonist. I seriously wish your story could be used to replace the existing Disney trilogy. I actually had goose bumps listening to this take. A Storm Trooper that is force sensitive... the concept itself is freaking brilliant and extremely interesting. Great work!
It's a nice idea, but I feel like the Force sensitives have had way too much exposure. I like the idea that an underdog destroys the Empire without these special "magic," abilities myself.
It's just embarrassing how much better all of the fan ideas are than what we were made to see. The fans care so much more about the Star Wars Universe than anyone working at Disney/Lucasfilm.
It's really sad that people paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for their scripts are able to make such a bland tasteless thing, when a youtuber is able to do a much better job creating a main plot for basicly nothing. Honestly they should just pay fans to use their stories/books and base the stories off of that. At least there would be a decent flow in the story. Edit: grammatical errors... I need to go back to an English class

Genuinely better than the movies. Finn was always my favorite, and I feel like they did him dirty. The moment where he converts the troopers was powerful, I wish they did something like that.
The issue is what happens with all the other troopers they fight after that. If I wrote it at all it would be to give Finn the ability to make them remember their names and have that allow them to choose. Maybe it works or maybe it reveals them to be in full control afterall.
He would’ve fitted the archetype of the “no one hero” - that they wanted so badly to explore - perfectly. While Rey, even before getting retconned as a Palps, was a no one in name only.
I actually thought Finn would be a Jedi in the new trilogy. Boy was I wrong. Fantastic Fanscription! I have to applaud as I was hooked from beginning to end. This is how the new trilogy should of went! Amazing job, man!!
I would've preferred if Finn had actually been force sensitive. It has been a long time since we had a jedi in the same vein as Mace Windu. I'm not saying he should be connected to the main cast like Rey was, nor do I downplay Rey being force sensitive or having a connection, but having her part of the Solo family would've made much more sense than a sudden twist connection to the villain that wasn't built up at all and then taking on the name of a legacy that really didn't feel earned.
One thing i for sure would have done, is made snoke actually Darth Plageuis, using his techniques that were established in the prequels to come back to life, this way we could have kept him alive until the last movie and had an intimidating villain that made a lot more sense.
That's what I was thinking! It would've been a lot better if they went that direction but noooooo they instead had to kill him off in The Last Jedi and replace him with a guy that should've stayed dead!
Because Finn never knew his name, marrying into the Skywalker/Solo line would mean that he probably took Rey’s last name. Aside from being more or less appointed as an honorary Skywalker, he would also marrying into the family, indisputably making him a Skywalker. … Kind of funny how a lone fan with an interest and respect for Star Wars can make a more coherent and consistent story than Disney’s team of writers and directors, huh?
It’s honestly utterly tragic how good this is, it shows how the sequel trilogy could have been a cultural icon full of crowd-pleasing moments while having a lot of respect for the Star Wars legacy as well as modernising and furthering the story. This is an outstanding interpretation and I wish the movies had been more like it
I loved the idea of a defective stormtrooper, especially if they're the main character. it would add alot of depth to the stormtroopers being that they aren't just brainwashed killing machines. I went into ep 7 thinking that finn would be the main character. nope, we got a marry sue.
Agreed. He should have been the main character. Oh, and we deserved canon Stormpilot to happen. If Disney wanted LGBT representation, what better way to have it than to have the defected stormtrooper, and top gun Resistance pilot be the main love story? Oh, and it would be nice for the main character to NOT be Force sensitive for once. Let the Force users like Rey and Kylo/Ben take a back seat for once, and let non Force users drive the ship for once.
That would of been perfect story telling. A storm trooper comes to there senses and leaves the empire to become a jedi. We've never seen a Strom trooper become a jedi. I was rooting for finn the whole movie of force awakens and in a way he kinda was the main character of that movie.
Well in legends, there was a stormtrooper who did leave the empire and became a jedi knight and turned a jedi master, you already know who he is, One of my favorite star wars characters of all, Kyle katarn.
When the Force Awakens' trailer was released, it was immediately Finn that I shifted the majority of my attention to. I wanted a lot from him. And THIS, this gives me something that I can INDEED work with. And I wanted Finn & Rey to be a thing from the start. (I watch the video) Me: (Sobbing) That- That was so beautiful.. (Blows nose on the original scripts)
Mine as well. How about Finn the *Dark-skinned* Stormtrooper recovers after his clash with Kylo + gets a dream to find Forner Grandmaster Luke Skywalker to be trained? Kylo + Rey get abducted by Palpatine who kidnaps Rey while Kylo tries, but fails to get Rey. Then confonts Snoke, only to find that He was a poser this whole time... they fight, Ben kills Snoke He then goes to look for finding Finn while his rival admiral (the hans-looking dude) chases him. Kylo uses force to break fleet front line to reach Finn only to meet Luke. They fight, then Finn shows up to defend his new master while telling Kylo that Rey's missing. Kylo also says he sees Rey in pain in his dreams. The Duo + Luke find Rey... but she's not herself, but now an acolyte of Palpayine while revealing she's in fact Palpatine's Grand daughter after her mom was raped + she was abandoned by said mom in desert plannet to die (one of the reasons she fell... from excessive guilt... which palpatine thru force grew... making him responsible for giving her said hightened force sensitivity... she's a perverted experiment). Finn fights Rey to get her back from her trance , while Kylo + Luke Destroy the renaining fleet after them. Luke overworks himself and dies at Kylo's hand making Ben realize he needs redemption. Kylo (now Ben) + Finn + Rey fight a vwry powerful Palpatine. They finish him off and Ben marries Rey... making her a skywalker... *THE END*
*Kylo: You have no place in this story! You're nothing!* *Finn: I know who I am! Do you?* The best dialogue exchange in a Star Wars movie that we will never see.
I am completely oblivious on how much Hollywood relies on the same tiresome group of ideeots to write scripts across multiple franchise, only to toss it to the garbage bin when the films bomb and lock these films hoping people pick their interest down the road, when they can pick scripts from 40 years of fandom or the respective novels inspired on the OT. Lucas should have just dropped the OT as public domain. Many just asked GL for the original theatrical print restored and Disney completely ignored this.
My one complaints is that after TFA, it doesn't seem like there's much interaction between Poe, Finn, and Rey. Maybe they don't need to be a "trio", but I think having your main "next generation" characters interact more is necessary
They never really got the chance to talk altogether. When Finn and Poe reunite, Rey is taken to Starkiller Base. When the Resistance blows up Starkiller Base, Finn is too injured to do anything and Rey goes to find Luke. It makes sense that they couldn't all meet up in 7.
J.J. Abrams is incredibly terrible at capturing a moment. Rian Johnson did a better job at it. But also made everything boring in trying to lean away from being typecast as an action movie director. He probably still thinks Disney ruined his career by forcing him to do Star Wars when he could have made something great if he didn't specifically make a flop so he wouldn't have his image ruined by it. I wouldn't be surprised if all the characters splitting up to go on solo missions wasn't something that Abrams forced on the second movie because he doesn't do character interaction himself. Then Johnson had to make up new characters like Rose Tico on the fly to have other characters to interact with.
This is WAY better than the original Sequel Trilogy. Finn has FAR better growth, Rey has a better character ark, Kylo Ren has a more meaningful backstory, my boy Luke is WAY better than he was in the original Sequel Trilogy, and "The Rise of Skywalker" actually lives up to the title. Well Done 👌🔥
Luke: Take your weapon Finn: All I see are two lightsabers. There are no blasters here Luke: No Finn. This IS your weapon. It belonged to your father. It has ALWAYS belonged to you. You are a Windu Imagine how much the fans would have jumped for joy at the movies?
Nah thts goofy.. windu is the most strict jedi I don't think he would have any relationship with anyone. Plus father? He'll nah the rots event is already been like 50years Finn would be a 60year old dude by now. But I like the idea of Luke Trains Finn
I thought that letting Finn sacrifice himself nobly to buy everyone time would have been much, much better than having him as they did in Episode 9 as a Rey Proximity Alarm.
Honestly Poe made more sense as the heroic sacrifice. Throughout the Last Jedi his lesson was understanding the role of a leader and ultimaetly being selfless. Him seeing past himself and sacrificing himself would have made more sense. It would mirror how he took on a fleet by himself in the beginning, getting people killed. What better way to close the loop than having him face down the first order to save everyone?
It's actually a lot cooler for Rey to be joining the fight with the resistance in an X wing because it gives her a moment of peace and shows her in her element, showing how and why she is a standout in her own ways, in spite of the fact that she was lacking in the force side of things. It's a cathartic moment for her and an instant vindication from everyone of her skill and worth to the team.
Not sure if it was intentional, but that ending where Finn was separated from Luke and Kylo got him gave me some Phanton Menace vibes from Qui Gon and Obi-wan. Made me love it even more.
There was another rewrite (while great, not as good as this), that suggested the idea of a combined theme of “Duel of the Fates”, “Battle of the Heroes”, and “A Jedi’s Fury”.
Now THIS is a trilogy of stories that come from love: Everyone gets moments to shine and no corporate agendas are shoved down our throats. Well said, Walter...and may Carrie Fisher be one with the Force
Just finished the video and honestly it’s awesome. Not even “oh anything is better then what Disney made” Nonono, this is legitimately well written and paced. Awesome job and kudos to the team who put this together.
I like the idea of Fins new team of storm troopers becoming the new jedi temple and temple guards. Like a whole new organization outside of the typical jedi sith dichotomy
I can imagine Daisy Ridley see Han on the Falcon and saying "DAD!" and then watching Harrison Ford be a grumpy old Han Solo dad to his rebellious daughter
I think the second director from movie 2 didn’t want him as a main roll or even seen him with Rey. Remember no one was complaining about Finn or Rey only after the second movie people was …this is dumm
@Jean Sanchez I remember John mentioning at an interview on TLJ, where he was answering a question on if Finn was going to have an arc. He said that he went from fighting Kylo Ren at the end of the movie heroically to ending up in the snow. I wondered from then on "Was there an original script for TFA?", turns out there was. You're absolutely right Finn being way more important because not only WAS he important to the plot of EP7, but he was going to be a Jedi.
Yep it’s sad because they actually had pretty good chemistry on screen together. The casting was great. It’s the story and plot that are embarrassments.
@@levels1937 There was an original script and it was better than what we got by miles. If it wasn't forced to be changed by Disney/LFM we would've had something amazing and a good start to the new trilogy.
@@windghost2 But one think also came into my mind….. U will never see a big movie where a black guys dates the white Girl! It’s not always black woman getting seduced b white dute. Just check out….
I’ll be fine if they make a revised version of this trilogy but Finn as the Jedi and rename it as “Star Wars: The Force Awakens Revised” or something instead of a novel, doubtful but hopefully someone at Disney or Lucasfilm has this idea
I really love this. Only one thing i would change. Instead of making Rey and Ben twins, make Ben older and establish that in the flashbacks he was a role model for Rey.
This version of the sequel trilogy is really what I wanted to see. I would have seen these movies more than 2 times in the theater -if the story was written as competent as THIS one
Finn had more scenes using a lightsaber but they cut them out. When Snoke says there's been an awakening in the Force, it was referring to Finn's Force sensitivity.
You’re giving it too much credit. It was referring to Rey. Finn being force sensitive was a last ditch effort by Abrams to course correct Finn’s arc in the last film.
"What if Finn was the main character..." Finn WAS the main character, I've been saying this for years. Rey has clunky dialogue, she has no motivation or reason to be there, or reason to be a hero. She was obviously added into the script later when Disney realized Chine wasn't gonna let a black man be the star.
@@mad0813 If you want a summary of Rey's story, just look at the last scene of FA. Rey stands there, holding the lightsaber, and the camera slowly pans away... and NOTHING HAPPENS. Can you imagine what the two actors were doing down there? "Mark! Am I supposed to say anything!? I didn't get a script for this scene! No!? Ok what do I do!? My arm's getting tired! Nothing!? Just stand here!? Ok, I guess I'll do that..." Absolute waste...
The fight between Kylo, Luke, and Finn in the world between worlds would’ve felt a lot like the duel of the fates in episode 1 Amazing Edit: One thing I would’ve liked would be if Kylo looked to Luke with a sort of sympathetic/apologetic look before falling to his death. It would’ve provided a good bit of closure since we don’t seem to get that between Kylo and his mother or him and Rey in this story
The fight being reminiscent of Duel of the Fates would be brilliant - Blue and Green lightsabers clashing with a red one over a narrow path. It would allow the story to go full circle.
i enjoyed ren’s role as a main villain instead of a confused child. i always thought there was so much potential to build his character on that was never displayed to its entirety. his reason to feel betrayed by his loved ones is also further touched on, with every member of his family sensing his interaction with the dark side. instead of just luke taking matters into his own hands out of nowhere, ren could have been confronted before the assassination attempt. after that, luke tries to kill him. this would feed into ren’s idea from the movies that nobody was truly willing to reach out to him and save him, leading to his turn to the dark side and seeking out snoke to become his apprentice and form the first order.
Man, it really says something when I felt far more connected to these versions of the characters presented in a hour than the the ones that had 6+ hours of "development."
That was actually a lot of fun to watch and listen to. You actually made a lot of changes that would've been a lot better yet would still make sense but still work well within the story. I would dare say that I'd take your version of the story as the new cannon version to the actual movies.
Disney should’ve hired you, you did an amazing job! Especially with episode 9, sheesh. Made me emotional and it wasn’t even on screen. Seeing the 3 of them duel with all the moments of Star Wars flashing would have been SO EPIC
Simple: The series would have had an actual main character with an interesting backstory that could have been the foundation for his personality and development, one who we could follow through his failures and victories over a 3-movie arc. Instead we got a living plot device which does whatever the writers need her to do to move on to the next scenario, while the actually interesting character was retconned to be a bumbling janitor.
For real, Rey didn't have a backstory until the 3rd movie. The whole nobody parents thing obviously didn't leave good tastes in everyone's mouths, so they tried to retcon it and bring Palpatine back.
I think Finn's lightsaber could have been similar to Ezra Bridger, as in a blaster/saber hybrid, with blaster shooting red lasers in opposition to a blue lightsaber. He is an ex-trooper after all, so beyond the memes of "stormtroopers can't aim for squat", he did have military-level training on weaponry and sniping. The blaster part would be making a connection to his painful past and the lightsaber part serving as a reminder of his future.
I thought they were going to set it up that Finn was a Mandalorian. There's a couple times in TFA where Finn has an uncanny affinity to use any weapon system he encounters. Yknow, "weapons are a part of my religion?" Finn was kidnapped from a Mandalorian clan, and he's a natural with guns and melee weapons.
Dude. . . .ongoodness. . . . I was actually (no joke) 10x more invested in this story than the story we got. Kylo-"You come from nothing, YOU'RE NOTHING!!" Finn-"I know who I am. . . Do you?" Got chills from that. The thing I love too is you guys kept a LOT of the frame and basis of where they were going but the conclusion was soooo much more satisfying and focused. That was the biggest difference is you guys had a vision and the story was focused and it all led to the final battle between Finn, Luke and Kylo with a satisfying death for Luke Skywalker and a story of a nobody storm trooper who has found a purpose and Identity within the resistance and his journey with Luke. I also like the dynamic between Rey and Kyle SOOOO much better in this version. It really makes sense why they would interact with each other. The only thing I would change of your reimagining is I would have loved to see a final speech between Bro and sis Kyle and Rey to tie up all loose ends and finish their sibling dispute. Also dig Rey and Finn getting together as I thought they were leading to that the whole time until Ben swoolo came in and yeah lol. Leia being alive was a lot more satisfying as well. I understand the tough predicament they were in with Leia but it felt like they killed her for NO reason. This would have been an exciting Starwars experience with a conclusive and satisfying start middle and end. I would have loved it! Thank you guys for all your hard work making this a thing. Your version will live on with me as the manga version of the anime series we got lmao
I honestly felt that Finn was going to be the main character. Especially when he "awakened" when his friend was killed, to him helping Poe escape, and feeling millions of people dying in an instance all pointed to him becoming a jedi in his own right. If Disney ever got off of their high horse, they should redo the sequels with Finn becoming a Jedi to take down the First Order. He was even given Luke's lightsaber to use it, not Rey.
Scenes of Han being a good dad that aren't either his death scene or a figment of Ben's imagination allowing him to forgive himself are a nice addition
Finn could have been the enemy pawn that ran away, but learned to be brave and developed into a true hero. Rey could have been the opposite, an orphan who grew up embittered and cynical in that cutthroat scavving environment. Rey could have been turned in one movie and saved by Finn in the next. That Finn was demoted to comic relief and Rey never grew out of her Mary Sue origins continues to disappoint me.
This is great, most rewrites and takedowns of this trilogy decide that every detail is trash. You see the potential of all these elements and play them out well. It's a much better take than the original, but still maintains the feel of the sequel trilogy.
Wow..... I can't believe I just found this video. This would have been an AWESOME story to watch. It not only does interesting things with Finn, but also does GREAT things with Rey. Also making The Last Jedi like Godfather 2 (a sequel and prequel) would have helped alot to flesh out WHY Luke became what he did and gives it better motivations. Also giving some backstory and having 1 scene of Han, Luke, and Leia discussing Kylo would have been great. And having Kylo kill Snoke like this makes sense. The World between Worlds incorporation as the threat of TROS would be great as well. Also allowing all the moments of Star Wars to be seen throughout. All in all this would have been great. I am going to share with some friends of mine.
I love the idea of the defected troopers painting their helmets in honor of Finn. It feels like it could be a nice homage to the clone wars, how they all had the same armor, but you could tell what team they were a part of based on the color. Like the 501st blue, or the 212th orange. It could also be a nice homage to the end of the clone wars series, how the clones all paint their helmets to look like Ahsoka's face, or in this case, what led Finn to defect from the empire. That is what I loved about the clone wars. When the original trilogy came out, we associated the white trooper armor with the bad guys. They were mindless drones who could be killed without consequence. But the clone wars showed us that the stormtroopers originated from clone troopers. We learned that even though the clones all looked the same, each one was different. This is just what I thought. I really liked your video, and would love to watch a movie made from the idea of this video.
As always, a fan idea that well and truly surpasses the actual writing of the Disney scriptwriters. I truly like how you have reimagined Rey to be the daughter of Han and Leia, and that her introduction into the story is that Finn runs into her while she is purposefully trying to retrieve the Millenium Falcon.
This was cool. I think it would have also been amazing to the world between worlds reacting to Finn's presence revealing his past connection to the force and who he decedend from. As Finn is knocked to the lower platform he walks past portals of past jedi sith battles from ages past (we see what appears to be Bastila and Revan engaged in a battle, this could set up the KOTOR arc..) Finn then stops at a portal with the faint image and familial sight of his ancestry. A lone figure in a Jedi Robes walking among purple hue pointing at Finn telling him to rise, we see a purple light saber activate...its Mace Windu. It would have been a great reveal. Finn in that realm representing balance of both the light and dark like Windu.
If I had one thing to add to this incredible story, I'd suggest having force ghosts of old Dark Side users appear in the Sith temple. It would be a great way to incorporate Palpatine without making him an integral part of the story
I think the real issue with the sequels is that they wanted to just make the original story again; I mean there’s no reason for Rey to be presented as another kid from a sand planet wanting to fly
That's the weird thing though, Jakku wasn't even going to be a desert planet! In some original concept art for the Force Awakens, Jakku had completely different environments. There was one where it looked like an ice planet, while the other had a marshland environment. Although the idea of it being a junk planet being filled with Empire memorabilia was still present. But these ideas were scraped in favor of having yet another desert planet
Your version is so much better! I remember seeing the trailor for the first time and being super excited to see Finn take his trooper helmet off. I thought he was going to be the coolest new Jedi character.
People remember Luke not because he was a super powerful Jedi (he rarely won a fight, in fact!), But because of the struggles he went through and how he overcame them. Rey just skipped all of that and went straight to max level gg ez
How is it that Finn’s speech to Phasma and the Troopers is one of the best things I’ve ever heard in Star Wars and it’s from a fanfiction?! No seriously that was so good.
May The 4th Be With You!!!

This was so much better. Shows how having consistent direction throughout the sequel trilogy would have been so much better than what we got. Great plot overall and having Finn convince his former brothers and sisters in arms to defect with him is a really beautiful message that the original missed out on (Phasma should've lived tho).
yea, phasma should have been captured and then defect or be punished
Also Finn being given the last name skywalker feels more impactful and earned than it did in the actual trilogy when rey was given it
I MOSTLY like this take.
That parallels Ahsoka in the season 7 of clone wars when she don't want to kill any clones during order 66 even tho the clones wanted to kill her
@@augustlareyy it's like poetry because it rhymes

Probably would be like that for the first part of the movies and being hesitant to kill his former comrades but eventually he would have to in order to help his allies. However, when it comes to Phasma? No, I see no reason why he would hold back against her.
I agree!! I also think that Kylo should appear on the monolith as well, seeing as it's supposed to be both light and dark folks

Mmhm, because fanfiction writers, (the good ones anyway), care more about the characters than these so called Hollyweird scriptwriters.
As a fanfic writer I agree on that one xD, we usually ignore the canon source if it's bad and did some what if scenarios to make them better :D

Yeah maybe in hindsight we have a foundation to build off of.
Those who """ screwed It up """" are Just other fans with different points of view
Things that I would have changed:
1) Finn does not kill his fellow Stormtroopers.
At the end of all this, you can show Luke, Ben, Finn with a new Jedi Order, and Rey along with the Force Ghosts of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda, closing the final installment out.
wait hold on.

@@barbatos8498I guess we'll never know
The only thing I disagree would be Phasma replacing FN-2199's fight, it could be that FN-2199's character is given more importance considering he used to train alongside Finn and then make a confrontation between Phasma and Finn at the Second Death Star
Finn would be a very original jedi and would drag star wars away from the " farmer/scavanger in a remote planet jedi"
for disney, you cant repeat the same old hero’s journey that luke had realising hes is more than a moisture farmer who is a good pilot. they didnt understand that from the get-go, and made it worse with writing characters in the wrong roles
Oh well.

That feels too much like a "female Han Solo" to be original, but maybe that's where characterization and personality can shake things up.
@@Ryan-sn3uo Han Solo wasn’t a gadget guy or melee fighter. Saying that interpretation of Rey is a “female Han Solo” is just silly.

Having Finn be the main character and then Ray as a side could have been such an awesome movie
He would’ve fitted the archetype of the “no one hero” - that they wanted so badly to explore - perfectly. While Rey, even before getting retconned as a Palps, was a no one in name only.

Was a mix of a fake-out and "fear of a black Jedi", referring to criticism of some "fans".

Hell, Finn doesn't even have to be a Jedi. He could just use cunning and intuition and try to defeat both Jedi and Sith.
That would of been perfect story telling. A storm trooper comes to there senses and leaves the empire to become a jedi.

I liked it a lot
Kylo: You have no place in this story. You are nothing! When this story is over, my story, you will return to nothing!
My one complaints is that after TFA, it doesn't seem like there's much interaction between Poe, Finn, and Rey. Maybe they don't need to be a "trio", but I think having your main "next generation" characters interact more is necessary
The writers are children and children do not understand real human interaction
Yeah the OG always had some funny banter about what they are.
Well Done 👌🔥

i enjoyed ren’s role as a main villain instead of a confused child. i always thought there was so much potential to build his character on that was never displayed to its entirety. his reason to feel betrayed by his loved ones is also further touched on, with every member of his family sensing his interaction with the dark side. instead of just luke taking matters into his own hands out of nowhere, ren could have been confronted before the assassination attempt. after that, luke tries to kill him. this would feed into ren’s idea from the movies that nobody was truly willing to reach out to him and save him, leading to his turn to the dark side and seeking out snoke to become his apprentice and form the first order.
I love how this ties into rebels and clone wars.
It crazy that this makes so much more sense and feels like star wars than what we actually got.
Disney should’ve hired you, you did an amazing job! Especially with episode 9, sheesh. Made me emotional and it wasn’t even on screen. Seeing the 3 of them duel with all the moments of Star Wars flashing would have been SO EPIC
Let's be honest, Disney would be having a stroke if a good story was put in their movies

Interesting? More like shit that would've flopped hard.
@@Necrometalfist A stormtrooper who saw the error of his ways and wanted to do better ? How tf is that not interesting ?
@@Necrometalfist You're were never a SW fan till Disney were you?
That would've been pretty funny
holy shit that's incredible!!
italkcrab bruh
But he was a janitor lmao
@italkcrab bruh xD
Dude. . . .ongoodness. . .
That was fantastic. 10x better than the story we got, while still holding true to all that came before it. 10/10
Now this is the remake of the sequel trilogy we need. I like to see this made into a TH-cam animated movie
All for it say “aye!”

But these ideas were scraped in favor of having yet another desert planet
can I just say, i'm impressed with the voice acting as well? this story is so believable
Your version is so much better! I remember seeing the trailor for the first time and being super excited to see Finn take his trooper helmet off. I thought he was going to be the coolest new Jedi character.
I feel cheated. This should have been the $90 I spent watching these films.
Yes, yes it should have been.
You spent $90?! I just waited, and watched them for $5 each on $5 Tuesday at my local Marcus.
Bruh 30$ for a ticket? I pay this much to see like 3 movies
$90 for 3 movies? Wtf.
@@qunaqunowski he probably watched them multiple times
People remember Luke not because he was a super powerful Jedi (he rarely won a fight, in fact!), But because of the struggles he went through and how he overcame them.
Rey just skipped all of that and went straight to max level gg ez
How is it that Finn’s speech to Phasma and the Troopers is one of the best things I’ve ever heard in Star Wars and it’s from a fanfiction?!
No seriously that was so good.
