What if I Wrote The Force Awakens? - Star Wars Theory Fan-Fic

  • If Luke never tried to kill Ben Solo. Things would have been entirely different.
Ben would continue to communicate and be under the manipulation of Snoke, however his destruction of Luke’s jedi temple that night would or would not have happened. Regardless, it would have happened eventually. That night or another night. Let’s say Ben was going to do it anyways that night, then Luke wouldn’t have been knocked out. He’d have been fighting for and protecting his students. He’d have destroyed the few students who rallied with Ben and easily taken Ben out, too.
This could cause two outcomes. One would cause Luke to bring Han and Leia to his temple to talk with Ben, and 4 of them together could discuss things. Luke wouldn’t be driven to run away and cut his force powers off because A) he wouldn’t be ashamed of trying to kill his nephew because he never did, regardless of it being a fleeting shadow of a thought or not. And B) his students wouldn’t be slaughtered and his Jedi temple would still stand!
This would cause Ben to escape from his parents once they took him home, and he’d leave to unite with Snoke.
The other outcome is, Ben gets away that night, he escapes by the skin of his teeth, just strong enough to flee from Luke’s grasp. He steals a ship and leaves to find Snoke.
Snoke essentially does what he originally did with Kylo which was not complete his training until the events of the force awakens.
However, now there would be no point in having the map to lead to Luke Skywalker, because he never went into exile. So in order to understand this new Luke, we have to explain the force awakens slightly.
The map for Luke Skywalker, would turn into a message to Luke Skywalker, to come back as a rebellion fighter, and join the resurgence of new rebels to destroy starkiller base and defeat Snoke. Who they don’t know is Palpatine. Poe gives the message to BB-8 who runs away and fights Teedo in the desert. And we can just say Rey meets BB-8 the same way she did in 7, then meets Finn and Poe etc.
Jump back to the current time where Luke doesn’t kill Kylo and Kylo runs away to Snoke.
Luke would continue to train Jedi for the next decade and become even more powerful in the force.
He would continue to educate himself with new texts and scrolls throughout the galaxy, and commune with the force ghosts. He would constantly stay in touch with his sister through the force and keep tabs on his friends. Visiting them periodically and stopping by Leia’s home while gallivanting through the galaxy, finding new artifacts.
Luke would become so unbelievably powerful, that no one dared to exterminate him. This forces Snoke to train Kylo even harder. Making Kylo into what he was always wanting, a dark, brooding, powerful fallen Jedi. Using both the light and dark to power him. He would lead the first order under Snoke’s command. Snoke would order Kylo to go to Exegol where his training would be completed for real. He would meet Palpatine and face his test against the Sith troopers. I’m not talking about the stormtroopers in red paint, I’m talking about real badass Sith troopers with dual wielding lightasbers. Palpatine would also have cloned, imperfectly, a cyborg Maul, and trained him to fight like the real maul used to, albeit without force abilities. This Maul would be a more terrifying version of Grievous. More skilled, and with the same personality and fighting style as the real Maul. He would just lack the powers of the force, albeit, still force sensitive, just not very much. Kylo would prove himself, and fight hard against this Maul. He would become very powerful and pass all tests, defeating his enemies. Kylo moves like Anakin. Sidious sees it, and smiles.

Now THIS was star wars. Canonizing the themes and lore of ancient legends to inform the current plot's themes is brilliant. This was poetry, it rhymed. Now that sequel Luke is fleshed out as a full character, Rey can be a clean slate of a character for Luke to project his new hopes onto. After 8, the passing of the torch can actually feel earned, while still pulling at the heartstrings.

Hey Theory this was a great story for Luke. I think seeing Luke in episode 7 and seeing his struggles and conflict in this would've been great to see and how it all happened. I love seeing the Son and the Father of Mortis even Anakin's ghost, same with the whole battles before the Old Republic. I love that you brought up Luke using the kyber crystals of Anakin and Qui-Gon at the end. This is so much better and even Luke the main character as a middle age man is perfect because we have Qui-Gon as the main character in episode 1 who found Anakin and shows that he is a true Jedi. Anyways can't wait for episode 8. I remember the video you made 3 years ago about what if I wrote TLJ that was good. Anyways much love and see you then and remember the Force will be with you......always...

Instead have plageius discover a dark ability similar to the force ghost Qui Gon discovered. and instead of the shitty revive of palpatine, have plagieus somehow revive himself/his conscious, using said discovered dark side ability, that he told palpatine about. Making a perfect arc, with the entire skywalker family being the chosen ones.
Like you could literally write 100’s of fan fictions that are so much better than the sequels, it’s so astonishing at how bad they were

@@rigby7218 Still kinda dosen't work, like isin't the whole point of Plagueis being the Sith failure that later Palpatine succeded? And I mean that "new unkown ability" does not make it any better, But either way I get your point, Lucasfilm really needed to work hard if they wanted to bring back Palpatine and make it work
Like for example; start the trilogy as him simply being a ghost form attached to a Holocron, then as the movies goes far he finally gets a body by perfecting the formula for inmortality that his master Plagueis tried to do but in the moment he instead indirectly altered the force thus creating Anakin, and yeah have him being the baddie, does bad stuff, rule the galaxy, revive the Sith order and destroy the chosen one's balance, tries to get direct access to control the world between worlds or something, y'know bad guy stuff, and speaking of Rey Palpatine, daughter of the failed clone, instead just have her being a Skywalker from the start and have her the goal of maintain her grandfather Anakin legacy (once she discovers her heritage of course) in contrast on how Kylo wanted to do that but with Vader, and in the moment Palpatine is defeated have Anakin's ghost directly involved in it, and idk also have other Jedi's ghosts or even the Whils to help, it's honestly not that hard if you know well the lore, what you can use, and what you can't

    • @NMack-is3nb
      @NMack-is3nb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

@@lonelysatoshi2482 I think Plagueis surviving is so much more satisfying. Palpatine thought he killed his master long ago so having Plagueis survive shows how arrogant Palpatine was for thinking he surpassed his master plus Palpatine probably assumed that the essence transfer was all B.S. Having Plagueis bide his time to return and take up the remnants of the Empire is such a great payoff. It shows that he was far more powerful than Palpatine. He waited in the shadows for his former arrogant apprentices fail which he always knew he would. Plagueis should have been the final big bad in the end.

If I had written the sequels I would have definitely borrowed from legends with the Yuuzhan Vong. But if I have to be restricted with what I change, I would mainly focus on proper character development and give them a level to them making their deaths more impactful or meaningful. I would have also kept characters true to themselves, so an example would be how Luke behaves and what he does.

Since you asked for some feedback - if you're going to do Ep. 8 Fan-fic - try and step away from all this stuff that we've already seen. I know you really revere George, so I feel it bears reiterating that the only known, quoted criticism George had of Episode 7 was that there was nothing new. And compared to what we got in TFA, I feel like this is just mining even deeper into the nostalgia bubble with the EU flashbacks, Maul 2.0 and Grievous 2.0, Palpatine raising an Anakin 2.0, and so on. I also didn't feel any emotional investment in what was going on, only that we were moving between cool moments for "the fans", which... I dunno. I wish TFA had been good. TLJ was amazing as it is, then they ruined it all with TROS. Blame JJ. Rian stayed true to Lucas' vision

Thank you for this! I really loved the grey line between the light and the dark in which Luke walks in this story, his fascination with the sith, as opposed to the usual binary approach...
And you even managed to almost pull Super Sayan transformation in the temple fire eheheh.
    Cheers and keep it up!

That was great! I mean, Luke dual-wielding lightsabers about to throw down with the Knights of Ren is a far superior cliffhanger than the garbage Darth JJ gave us.

Yeah this is the way it works from the story of the father foretold that storyline made way more sense integrating with the chosen one direction we were shown in Clone Wars definitely told him what would happen on that path and he ended up on it ... the same path lay before Luke yet he chose wisely and with the force ghosts help would help him further into what his oath was meant to be as the chosen one's offspring as mentioned in Empire .. good tie ins can't wait to see what comes next.. thus is a definite rewatch to get some ideas rolling .. thanks Theory
