Some interesting discussion happened in the question time, building on the idea of climate guilt. In New Zealand we need reconcilation and forgiveness in the area of environmentalism, progress, industrialization, engineering and colonisation. The Ministry of Works provoked the NZ environmentalism movement with it's wanting to raise Lake Manapouri and other hydro electric scheme, urban motorways and other projects. As was point out the MoW was also undergoing change in light of this. Environmental grass roots anti big government is part of the NZ thinking that led to a reliance on small scale and market based actions, while I see public engineering as a crucial part of the solution But we don't seem to be ready for this, forgiveness is needed to work together with the peace of God and let there be climate progress.
