Somehow I tripped upon this same idea when I was trying to set up my communication. Full wrap around helmets easy enough. The helmet that is either open face or opens up I came up with another idea. I came up with a gamer headset and unplugged the mike/extension from the headset and plugged in with a series of adapters from my y adapter inside the helmet. So you have three mics. The one that came with your sena and the one for your mic that goes over your earpiece. And the other mic to record your voice to your gopro. I routed it in the same recess most helmets give for the installation of your communication mic. Then I used epoxy to keep the gamer mic extension in place. So I could have my mike in front of my face. Not all Mics are the same. I had the cheap mic like you had and it had more of the natural sound coming in from my other riders. I thought going the best Amazon had to offer and the voice coming in sounded a little tine. So cheaper mic is better. Thanks mile marker mike

Thank you for this video. I soldered stereo mic to my helmet so that on left channel is my intercom mic and on right channel is my pole mic. I used one pole mic left from Cardo for me and other Sena velcro mic near intercom speaker. Now it is easy to edit those mic levels from left to right. And also make those more mono and center if I like. Both mics are taking motorcycle sounds so the motorcycle sound is some kind of stereo sound in the middle. I'm using Insta360 X3 with 0dB or -6dB settings and it works fine. Still waiting to make videos with it. Back to summer tyres and waiting for ride again... I also made 3.5mm male +female extension cord if I use the camera on my handlebar RAM mount rather than on chin mount. I prefer the handle bar camera setting with X3. It is better for 360 video and X3 is so big for the chin. Tack så mycket och hälsningar från Finland.🇫🇮✌️ - KIITOS.

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv I am not very experienced with a lot of intercoms. For you to answer calls your dumb phone needs at least bluetooth to get you covered. If you have that, most Intercoms would work. It's a few years old but my friends who have it never has problems (like I do) and it's cheaper than the newest models. All the best!

Yes, my 94 honda goldwing 1500 interstate has the plugin for 2 passenger intercom but that is for the bike I guess. I have no mic for it. Unless I take my cat for a ride in his basket, I don't need an intercom. My Drift camera works great with the external mic and I buried my cable under my helmet cushions too, just like yours. Again, my videos are just for me or a few friends on facebook. But this is my fake name. But yes, I am a chained animal. 😁 So happy you did this. I have always wondered how it was done with the intercom that I know nothing about. When you come here to do the TAT you can help me then.🤣 Sorry for the long speech. duh. 😞
hehe thanks. Well this is aimed to answer the questions I got and not everyone ride with intercom and dare record what the others say. I have to cut a few things in edit :) Great that you have a Gold Wing. They are great offroaders :) th-cam.com/video/EMrxee_fazo/w-d-xo.html
@@NomadSweden 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes,.... KAboom. Game over. Thanks for the link. 🙂
@@NomadSweden That was so funny. But... those are the tiny light weight 1200 or less goldwings. Mine is 1500. much bigger and heavier. Yes, people would think I was very crazy to do that....even here in cowtown okeechobee florida. Thanks again. 🤣🤣😁😁
@@NomadSweden can you recommend an intercom that I can use to answer my dumb phone flip phone? Not a smart phone. Or if I meet up with other riders, which has never happened in my life. 😞 I just need one to answer my cell phone so I don't have to stop or make calls. Thanks Robert. 🙂
@@JohnSmith-uy7sv I am not very experienced with a lot of intercoms. For you to answer calls your dumb phone needs at least bluetooth to get you covered. If you have that, most Intercoms would work. On the intercom market there are mainly two brands. Sena and Cardo. If I had to recommend one it would be Sena 30K. It's a few years old but my friends who have it never has problems (like I do) and it's cheaper than the newest models. All the best!
Easiest way possible...use the Sena 10C EVO....
Easiest indeed. But I think the audio is better this way since it also gets engine sound etc. I think the 10C EVO shuts everything out. It's a good thing for intercom, but for video you hear nothing but voices which makes it a bit weird to listen to.

👍👍👍
electronic slave 😀😀😀😀😀
Meaning?
@@NomadSweden I need to enjoy the trip more, I know what I'm talking about, so I'm always dealing with filming on a drone, cameras, if I have enough space on the card, if I've run out of battery, where I'll charge all my devices in the evening, etc... it's become me electronic slave.
Ok. I am the only one in my group making the videos, and I like it. That's why I do it. It's a hobby and not a burden to me.
@@NomadSweden It is quite obvious that it is your love. But when you ride single.....then there is no need for intercom. 🙂 thanks again.
