Thank you so very much for all the information. I,m suffering from information overload now. 😁😁😁 I will watch your Vlog on repeat to make sure all your info sinks in 👍👍👍😁😁
Nice to see the Action 4 in... action 😅 Just ordered one with your link, it's a pretty good price at the moment (£219 is the cheapest it's ever been according to the price tracker). Now just need a new helmet... sad (but fun) month for my bank account.
New sub, based on this video! Really enjoyed that, thanks and it's always interesting to see how someone else does it. I'm very early on in my youtube life (although not in my actual life 😭😂) so I'm still learning the ropes. I currently use a Sena 10c Evo as my helmet camera - mainly because it records the audio at the same time so that's one less thing to worry about. It does mean the video quality is compromised a bit I guess, but it's not too bad for the level I'm at for the time being. I have a DJI Osmo Action 3 on the bike, that I usually have facing me, but I can swivel it about if I need to. I'm seeing this more as a hobby than anything else and I've really enjoyed the learning process for the editing (I use Cyberlink PowerDirector). Currently at only 238 subscribers, but hey, I guess that means at least a couple hundred people like watching me ride and talk rubbish! 😂😁
Nice vid, I've never recorded others while riding could be a bit of fun so may invest in a Cardo soon 😎 If Premier Pro is a subscription based thing still I'd highly recommend Davinci Resolve, the free version is amazing for the editing we do, I've used it for many years now, longer than I've had my channel. Ans if you decide to upgrade to the amazing studio version it is a one time payment for a lifelong license. Either way another way to keep as much quality of your footage after YT messes with it, set your bitrates to their recommended level for the res you film in, they then compress it less. Keep up the great work, I may start doing some vids more regularly again next year, I've kind of neglected my channel for some time but it's just a bit of fun, since 2016 😂
Thank you lovely, that pretty much was the most informative video I've seen on user's setup, some good tips on what works, I found gopro's a bit crap had them freeze when recording, and never seem to give any real sense of actual speed,
Thanks for putting so much in. Didn't get to a DJi this year. Not for vlog but we have long winters, might be good to revisit a favourite road in summer when it seems a long way off. Good luck with the winter, haven't bothered with getting soaked and cold through along with mud, rust and seized brakes for more than 20 years. Could get a disposable bike but a camera seems better value. Happy days from sunny Devon.
Yep I'll be picking the riding days carefully over winter, I've done my all-weather season and don't fancy battling rust again 😆 Fortunate to work from home and have access to a car
Hi that's Great thinking of setting some Vidio Blogs up that's, Really Helpful thank you so much and keep Doing the Great Vids you do Ride safe take care ❤
ND filters I use now in autumn or cloudy day is nr 8 but in summer when sun is very "sharp" I go for nd 32 or 16 on average day and colour correct it in post. For audio correction software called Audacity is great and free
If you had an additional USB point wired to bike, you could charge the windshield camera while riding ? That would ensure you always film, just in case something happens ? Also if your helmet and shield cam were same make you could then interchange batteries, use 1 charge one ? Good vid, I personally can't be bothered messing with batteries and the in depth editing, think we get less tolerant of faffing and more grumpy as we get older. Think I'll just keep an eye out for you in the area and then do some silly stuff to be on your vid and the internet 🤣😂
Could do yeah, between all my cameras I have enough battery that one can always be running. Battery size changes depending on the type of camera too, so a go pro 360 uses different batteries to a standard go pro. But two osmos, one helmet one windshield, would be a nice set up. And haha if you ever see me filming feel free to do some content-worthy stuff, although I'm usually in my own world 😂
I currently have an Insta 360 go 3 and it's great but I've heard it's not good for moto vlogging because of the audio so i think I'm getting the action 5, also, i don't have an uncle named Bob. Great job on the video, very helpful
Looking again the DJI is much better than my GoPro. I’m not a vlogger but I do record track footage here and there. I often get a bizarre frame skip on go pro footage where it looks like it’s momentarily pausing. OK for what I do but wouldn’t be ok if I was trying to entertain!
Thank you for this great guide, I'm currently starting with a GoPro Hero 11, and I plan on getting a Cardo PackTalk Pro at which point I can record mic audio and start motovlogging. One question - I've heard that when you're recording the Cardo's mic including with other intercom users, you can't play music at the same time. Is this the case and is there a workaround?
From what I've found so far, other people on the intercom can still listen to music but I can't because I'm the one recording in the app. Or if I can, I wouldn't play music anyway incase it gets included in the recording and gets copyrighted. Might be different for the packtalk pro, not sure on that one. So in the duo videos of me and Katie, Katie can listen to music but I'm not :)
I've just bought a dji action 5 and my issue has been where to place the wireless mic 2 in my lid as its too close to my nose and mouth, and the other issue is trying to find an editor that my pc can handle when editing the footage, capcut works ok so far. I've had to turn 4k off as files are too large, and not use 10bit as I can't find an editor that can decode it. I'm not ready to splash out 300 to buy software yet.
I've heard da vinci resolve is good, if that helps. I have creative cloud for my work so premier pro was an easy choice thankfully. For mic placement I have it sticking out of the cheek pad at the side. You could also put it closer to your temple :)
what's your opinion of 30fps 1/60th vs 60fps 1/60th? Also, why normal colour and not D-Log M? [edit] wait why does yours say Normal[10Bit]? Mine has Normal / D-Log M[10Bit]

Thanks for the vid - excellent tips!
Have you considered using a separate mic for the engine/exhaust sounds?
Yes! I'd put it in my leg bag to hopefully get rid of wind noise :)

Yes I've been using 8 for a while (gloomy UK weather 😆), sometimes 16 if its really bright out

Maybe there's an uncle bob somewhere in the family tree 👀
@@TipToeBikers it's possible

Do you know of the purple panda works with the insta360 x3 . I want to record my voice but having issues with the quality and accessories.

It involves years of perfecting the craft
dji 5 came out which means people will sell dji 4 so it's time for hunt on second hand market for some deals
Seems like the perfect time yeah

I've always just doubled the fps to get the shutter speed. Not sure about the colour one, I'll check my camera and let you know 😊
@@TipToeBikers I updated my firmware for the wireless Mic 2, that might be it?
