A little more impressed than I expected. I like the stock exhaust much more than I thought I would. Like the back up light. Would be cooler if it was an actual rain light!!

Hello! I would like to notify you about a new car, it might be a better deal then the c8 Vette! It is called the f9r. Information was just released a week ago. It is a kit car and can fit a v12. It is full carbon fiber and rumors have it that it has 750 hp and is 23k!

why do you guys insist on comparing the GR Supra to the C8?, C8 is in the Supercar segment but Toyota is making the GR SuperSport Hypercar then we can make some comparisons. I think the Supra is a gorgeous looking sports car and 335 hp would be enough for most people, I guess it depends on what you like
wayne h The reason people compare them is because the base cars are about the same money. And once the Z06 Corvette 800HP comes out there’s no Supra that will ever compare to it.

Compare that to C8 where GM built the next gen Corvette from ground up themselves. They earn my $$$.

@@HorsePowerObsessed the funny thing is there are starting to be more and more new Supras for sale. There are well over 1000+ new Supras still looking for a new home on autotrader.com. That's pretty bad IMO but maybe sales might pick next year?
I really wanted a new Supra but couldn't bring myself to buy a car with a confused identity even if it'll be a great sports car. So I voted with my dollars and bought s new zl1 1le instead.
The C8, imo, took most of the supras spotlight away.
In comparison. That's saying Toyota should either throw the Camrys V6 in it,make it look like every other Lexus,and call it a day. Or go with the option to completely throw themselves in debt because they'd have to drop money down on factories,R&D,inflation,new platform,emissions,and new engine with it being more expensive than both the C8 and it's competition it's supposed to be going against plus them not having any real enthusiasts giving them feedback if there current engines are tunable or are any good for tuning,they really don't have near to anyone actually pushing their platforms unless its the gt86,and they REALLY don't know how to make a coupe without it weighting way near 4,000lbs. Whereas as chevy still makes the vette meaning they have the factories,engine,platform,emissions,and etc at there hands so it wouldn't be a problem for them to worry about the C8s price nor having to worry about it's sales since they make so many. Looking at Toyota now they'd be throwing themselves in the situation that Hondas having with the nsx. Too expensive and ridiculous mark up(actually every new car goes through this anyway). Them working with BMW was either a bang or bust on either to make the mk5 or not. BMW had what they needed to make the car they just needed to do develop it so it can happen and look were we are now plus they've been working with BMW for years now so it makes sense.
As apparent in the other review videos, the synthetic engine sound from the sound system is too loud and covers the real engine noise.

I think that's the main reason this one is still on the sales lot. With the C8 being so close it's a hard sale to make.

Its a ZF8-speed, same as the F-Type, Astons, Rolls Royce, Hellcats, most BMWs and even some trucks use it. It's built by a Mercedes spin-off company. The ZF8 is superior to a DCT in every way, which is why BMW killed all of their DCTs and replaced them with ZF8s. The ZF8 is smaller, lighter, stronger, way more reliable, better driving, and most importantly, passes 7% more HP through to the wheels making it faster even with its "slower" 100 millisecond shifts. In fully manual mode, there is no automation, it stays in whatever gear you select no matter what, so its functionally no different than a stick shift.
In 40 years of car buying I've never owned an automatic until my ZF8 F-Type. IMO it is vastly superior to an MT and more fun too. Its also geared for 320 mph in 8th gear which is why a 650 HP mildly tuned F-Type easily bags 30 mpg HWY at 1200 RPM.
Its nice that the BMW Z4 shown here has one, but not nice enough to buy another spawn of satan Beemer.

J, I was sooooo disappointed when I saw the Ft-1 concept had not been carried over to the Supra fully! I would have actually considered getting this car had it had looked like the concept. Now, I see them and I want to like them but they are so small..like BRZ small. Great review bud! Glad to see you and Scott kicking it! I'm going to be checking his vid out as well here shortly!
Totally agree, D. That was my thought as well but after sitting in and driving the Supra it has changed my mind a little bit. I still think the C7 is the better buy but if this car drops in price to mid to low 40's, it's pretty awesome.

Massive recall. The body spot welds were defective. I was very disappointed when I read it was a toyota designed BMW built car. No thank you. Good news for toyota dealerships. Now they will have some cars to work on. LMAO

This is it! I go to a car show and see a GTO, 442, or GS with a Chevy engine it infuriates me. Just a lazy, cheap way to build a car. Do it yourself and do it the right way!
this car is pretty ugly and very bulky looking. What's with that ugly big nose in he front. They could have brought back the old supra and it would have been very popular.
