Glad you are enjoying ownership of your supra I appreciate this review/video but considering the extent of mods, I'm not sure if its really fair to call this typical supra ownership, but its still holding up well!😬
Fair point. However, the purpose of me doing the recap videos is to show that even though my setup is probably something that 99% of owners will never do, the fact that it still runs like a champ and is reliable then STILL puts a smile to my face every single time shows that what everyone says about BMWs being unreliable is false. Nice congratulations! Yeah the clear coat is alright with the cars, much better protected with PPF or ceramic coat in the less rock chip prone areas. I mainly use the infotainment for Apple CarPlay. Just curious what gripes you have in regards to it?
I have enough to pay one of these off in cash and was very close to pulling the trigger until I found out how much technology and computers/sensors it has. I hate a car that I couldn’t fully work on myself, I have a 99 Miata currently and can build that thing from the ground up without running into issues but the Supra doesn’t seem that way at all.
Anything that old compared to this will be a huge jump for sure. I would say it really depends on how involved you are with building/modifying/maintaining your car. Like if you were to do just bolt on mods, it's actually pretty easy to do it. Turbo kit is much easier than what I was used to in the Subaru platform (EJ and FA). With the wiring though, yeah you would definitely have a harder time because of all the sensors it has. Not saying it's impossible, but much more difficult.

Good video. I did not catch if you mentioned about maintenance for the diff? I know for all BMW they require to change the differential fluid every oil change. Could you elaborate on that? Is that same with Supra,?
Where did you see that the differential oil needs to be changed every oil change? Some of the big power cars do not change diff fluid until they get up to 25k or so miles. I have not switched mine.
Good video! What made you decide on Rotella T6? That seems to be a truck oil? Seems heavier at 40 for the watery 20 that it requires stock. I’ve seen most people run Motul 5w-30
Great question! Just used it on my Subarus and it's familiar to me. Did some research to see how it was like for other BMW motors, and the N54/55 groups had great results with them. Some Bimmerpost users even sent them to Blackstone for testing and got great results from the tests. I change my oil every 5k miles and the high zinc content is good for the motors, especially tuned ones, from what I've researched. I'm no scientist, but Motul is great too. Cost also played a factor in my decision since a 5L container is $50+ (Xcess Gen 2 5W-40). $26 / 3.75L = $6.93 vs $51.86 / 5L = $10.37

@@VinceChristmastree 😆 stuck with auto too. They offered me what I paid for my 20' 3 years ago, I keep my car stock so the improvements enticed me. I can tell you, stock for stock the new 2023 has incredibly improved steering feel and handling. The car is more refined. I'm sure aftermarket solves these things but I like my cars being used as they were originally engineered. Especially suspension.
Damn is it really that noticeable? I haven’t spent a bunch of time with a 2023 so I definitely should. From what I read, the rear end is more composed compared to the 2020s. Were you able to confirm?
@@VinceChristmastree in the same weather conditions (late fall in Southern Canada) the car doesn't walk away from you nearly as much when you drive hard. Seems to just stay settled more. When you go over different road textures you can actually feel it from the front wheels through the back. And when you turn the wheels, there is noticeable feedback that comes through the steering. Most improvement seems to be in the back end, the car feels like it can be driven harder with more confidence! I put about 25k miles on my 1st one and I immediately felt the difference in this one. Only thing I kinda miss is the pops and bangs of the 2 port. But the 6port has a deeper resonance to it which I like.
I cover it here: th-cam.com/video/hUr1dasBdhc/w-d-xo.html No CEL since the car is tuned. My tuner and any others can turn off the CEL light for the cat.

titanmotorsports.com/products/cusco-powerbrace-front-strut-support-2020-toyota-supra-a90-3-0l-turbo
At least put an intake on it already my god man you need that sound!! Any problems with the Pure?? Heard they are junk and known for leaking oil, any leaks?? Also what oil do you use and weight.
Nah, don't need an intake since I already have a top mount turbo ordered. Just waiting for it to come in! Eh, those reports are the vocal minority. Lots of people I know have Pure turbos and no problems. No leaks with mine at all. I use Rotella T6 5W-40.
Is that the turbulence gray color for the 2020 model year?
No it's the tungsten silver.
Should I sell off both my 2002 s2k and e46 m3 for this supra?
Oh man…if they are clean and relatively low mileage examples…I honestly would say no. However, you can’t beat having a modern car with all the amenities. Those two are just absolute classics. I had an 02 S2K and I miss it so much.
What's your thoughts on the Supra having lug bolts.
Great question! Slightly annoying, but I’ve gotten used to them at this point lol just too lazy to convert to actual lug system. Maybe I’ll get around to it one of these days.
Pretty standard on bmws
theres someone here in NYC with a 90K+ mile MK5
Glad to see people are driving their cars!
I'm planning the Supra to be added to the garage next. I noticed your windshield wiper flick in this video, do you know why it did that?
Yeah it’s just the car do diagnostic checks. Usually it does that if you have the auto wipers turned on.
@@VinceChristmastree ok, thank you!!
Where did you get the “Supra” emblem?
www.titanium-works.com/collections/toyota-supra
Where's the video about oil burning? I can't find it.
This video around the 1:58 mark:
th-cam.com/video/tCu5P8URvw0/w-d-xo.html
what brand and weight oil do you use?
I use Rotella T6 5W-40!
Traded my supra for the type r fk8.. totally different experience
Dang! How is it like going to the Type R? I know so many people that went from the Type R to the Supra like myself. The FK8 was so good, wish it was financially feasible to keep it.
@@VinceChristmastree fk8 is more engaging to drive, makes me want to drive it more than the supra.
I would agree with that. Shifter engagement is so damn good. Almost as good as the S2000. Honda just knows how to make an amazing shifter!
Great looking car!! Which built tranny did you go with? Did you upgrade the turbo?
Pure 800 and Brian Shull in the DFW area built my trans!
Fuck 48k miles in 2 years DAMN!!!
😎😎😎
@@VinceChristmastree I respect it. I only put 6500’miles on my 20 Supra I miss that shit. I think I’m going to get another one next summer. I miss how much fun that car is and all the attention it gets. Super car attention for a fraction of the price.
@@G90M5Kel Yes exactly! Prices will be much more chill lol definitely why I had to add the attention it gets on pros as well.
that’s nothing i would have put 60k because i commute unfortunately 😅
My close family friend is looking to sell his 2021 3.0 premium with 10k+ worth of mods for around 55k, it has around 18k miles, he bought it 2 years ago for around 49k stock, I’m looking to use it as a daily do you think it’s a good deal? He said it’s well taken care of. It’s really loud though.
What are the mods that the car has?
@@VinceChristmastree I’m not familiar but he said he has a lot of interior carbon fiber and led lights mod, lots of carbon fiber in his engine bay idk what it is, he ceramic coated his paint, and he said he makes around above 600 hp, oh Ik he did put a new exhaust and intake, that’s all I remember him talking about, there are probably more things
This Supra is automatic or manual ???
ZF8 auto. The manuals didn't come out until the 2023 model year.
At what miles did you change the rotors?
Never changed it since I don’t take the car on a circuit.
I love the Supra so much that I traded in my 2020 for a 2023 LOL
LOL damn!😅
@@SlickSniper3 Wow, you have convinced me! I should check a '23 out then.
What downpipe are you running? And do you get a CEL?
I cover it here:
th-cam.com/video/hUr1dasBdhc/w-d-xo.html
No CEL since the car is tuned. My tuner and any others can turn off the CEL light for the cat.
how often do you change your sparkplugs?
Not often enough lol but I will be switching them out every 10-15k miles. I am using OEM plugs.
would you have gotten a manual instead?
Nope. I discuss why in this video!
th-cam.com/video/HqqvStSH7Lw/w-d-xo.html
Vince, is 59K OTD for 22 3.0 premium with 500 miles worth it?
Depends on your location. Prices are going down and you might be able to snag one up at MSRP in a couple of months!
Mine was 61K OTD 22' 3.0 Premium w/ 5K miles. I had a Toyota dealer offer me 60K (willing to negotiate too) for a 22' 3.0 Premium w/ 1.6K miles but didn't bite the bullet at the time (mostly cause it was black paint). Someone beat me to it when I came back for it.
why you change rims?
From stock to the TEs? If so, I’ve always wanted TE37 Sagas and I finally had the opportunity to snag a set!
@@VinceChristmastree Thanks for answer. Nothing to do about performance?
@@41519731 Primarily just preference, but the wider wheels and tires that I'm able to use mean more grip.
@@VinceChristmastree Thanks!
Tungsten gang hello
That’s what’s up!
holy crap 2 years 48k? sheeesh i take it ur not keeping this car lol
i bought mine brand new. this is my 2nd year will go on 3rd year in feb. 12.8k miles lol
Lolol yup. I drive the hell out of it, but I do plan on keeping it in the long run. Most likely my forever car unless a GT3RS becomes realistic for me lmao
Better to drive it and get your money's worth. You will regret it if for some reason you sell it
