- The Huawei P10 is a great phone, and a big upgrade over the P9. But at £599/€649 it's just too expensive and if you are looking to buy a new Huawei phone, the bigger the P10 Plus is a better option.

C'mon man... It's too expensive? You say you love the phone, use it as a daily driver and has high end specs but you have a little issue with the camera in low light but it's not worth it's 600 price tag, when there's almost no other phone that good for that price tag in 2017?!

They will as soon as they figure out that the "Chinese phones" are the same as the "not Chinese phones" (also manufactured in China for the most part). And of course those who have already figured that out can now buy better phones at discount prices.

The p10 is actually 600 euros in europe (Belgium). I think that's a fair price with the LG G6 coming in at 750 euros and the S8 at 800 euros.

I am aswell. Currently owning an A3 and never had another brand except Samsung.
But now, after owning A3 for 2.5 years and seeing that P10 is priced at 399€, guess what's my Christmas present is going to be.
Atleast for me, P10 is better.

it's 600 euro's in my country, while the iphone 7 cost 740 euro's so it isn't similarly priced my friend
You forget that the pound is the new pesos nowadays.
Otherwise I'd agree, dunno how they price Huawei in the UK, but it's not priced like an i7 anywhere else.

I read elsewhere that there is no oleophobic coating on the screen once you take off the factory screen protector. It looks like you have the screen protector removed, can you confirm if the coating is present or not?
I've had this phone for around a year and a half now and its still surprisingly fast, I swear its got faster as time has gone on. Only issues I've seen crop up recently were a few app crashes here and there and the camera can never focus on anything properly anymore. But overall still a really good and fast phone
I have it, but never a problem with focusing fortunately, always fast and precise.
For the apps, i guess it's about the apps itself, to me it happens mainly with Gboard and FB messenger.
I have a question about screen protectors that has nothing to do with this phone. I have a laptop with the 4k touch screen and glare is a huge issue for me. Are there any brands you would recommend that wouldn't take away from the 4k or touch sensitivity? Or should I just deal and choose where I sit. Thanks!
It would be interesting to mention software support for future reviews... As security is getting a lot of attention lately, I think it is an important factor to consider. For example, the company I work for has banned Android phones from corporate email access if they don't have the latest security patch. Samsung is doing a good job by releasing the patch about 15 days after launch.
i really like the display from Lumia930 and when i touch the screen, do you think it is because of amoled or their clearblack display? is it for sure amoled alot better than IPS? i do like amoled because the pixel is literally off when the color is black. but i dont know what's the other good point
Brother I've got a question..
I've got a S7 Edge at the moment which I've had for over a year and is now starting to have tons of issues - battery life, microphone and earphone have become weak. Unresponsive when trying to answer calls etc. I've got an option buy the P10 for 311 pounds in my country or get another S7 Edge for 311 pounds.. Any suggestions? I was also thinking of paying abit more and getting the pearl black S7 Edge

Great insight.. if I'm looking at a new upgrade at this time which android from s7 or p9/10? ... can't afford £52 pcm for a flagship. Wouldn't pay it anyway ...currently on a G4 .
Fair review. Its 3.7K RMB in China (which converts to 500 Euro) so it's priced much better here. Had it for a week now, and i'm very happy with it overall. Still need to put the camera to a real test though, will do soon.

Thanks to this review, I'm actually undecided between a P10 or S7 or S7 edge. Since you're using S7, how can You compare the P10 apart from S7 being IP68?
How about the screen glass? I am hearing that it catches finger prints and any oil/grease easily, as the glass is not reinforced with anti-grease protection.

Quite a different story regarding the price difference in Germany. 599 Euros for the P10 and then an extra 150 Euros for the Plus.

Have had the mobile in a month now.
+ Uses it as a company mobile and loves the big battery that easily cuts through my day with many mail and calls.
+ The screen is really bright, so no matter where I am, I have a good picture
+ Incredibly fast and experiencing no delay while switching between programs
+ Be afraid of size became too big, but it's so heavy and easy to keep up, so it's become a plus.
+ All the options for personalization are so cool.
+ Incredibly fast fingerprint reader
+ Loves the fast charge if you just lack power and go to a meeting so do 30 mins wonders.
- The back is a finger magnet
- No stereo speaker
- Could be a bit dull to go into the camera app.
I am very satisfied and for the price it is perfect.

Well, thank heavens you said "my main phone" instead of "my daily driver." You caught some guff about that, you know! ;-) I am carrying the Mate 9 as my daily driver (gasp!) and I love it. I guess I can live without the P10 in the U.S.

My s4 from 2013 had f2.2 aperture. Too small in 2017. No matter what you do with the lens, optics is deterring you to make a great camera..:)

But for the pricing, nowadays Huawei is putting efforts on par with Samsung and even Apple for research and innovation, for example their head of Media Lab used to be the senior director of Samsung's Innovation lab, Bo Begole. It's no longer the cheap phone maker.
So if you think of it, except for the water proof, there really isn't much to complain compared to the iphone and galaxy, for the camera though it's really cool they try to keep it flat.
I haven't got a sample of the Plus yet - but i'll see what I can do!
The Kirin 960 performs more or less as good as the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895...If Samsung can charge $850 for the S8, why can't Huawei charge close to the same for their flagship that is equally powerful?
noname that's not true at all...yes, lower nm process gives engineering more headroom to pack more trasistors, etc and use less power but it's the end package result that matters...has anyone done extensive battery testing on the P10? We'll have to wait for in depth testing on the S8 once released...but all early testing shows Kirin 960 to be every bit as good as as the SD835 and Exynos 8895...quite a testament to Huawei and how far they've come...a lot of the "looking down" at them is pure fanboy nonsense.

The ui is the only thing that stops me from picking one up. I don't like heavy skins and loosing the app tray.
I've had these phones for 3 years. My opinion on huawei p10 cameras is good, but the battery drains too fast when using cameras. When i still have 30%, they suddenly just turn off and when i tried to turn on suddenly just turn into 0% 😢 thats why i switch phone to z flip 5 and battery was great it can last longer up to 5% on battery and I'm really satisfied with my new phone
